Duo-R
Duo-RX

The audio capacitors in the first-generation Duos leak and stop producing sound over time. It's not a terribly difficult fix (just replace the caps or have someone who can solder do it for you), but it's best to be aware of what you're getting. All American Duos fall into this category; the -R and -RX were released in Japan only.

From what I understand the Duo-RX is most resistant to this type of decay due to a revised mainboard layout, although I've never owned an RX myself.
R and RX innards are basically identical.  But even within just the DuoR units there is some variability.  The boards are the same but some components are eliminated in some systems and brands/types of caps and pots are varied.  Someday I'll post the pics I've been collecting of the variations...
Check my site for Turbo, Neo, NGPC, and superguns!

Well thanks for telling me that before I plopped down the money.  Seems like it would be just as much a pain to have to rig the duo rx to play american hu cards as it would be to fix some caps

Whats up with this auction? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150201012411&_trksid=p3907.m32&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

Is the bidding up so high because half of the games come with the cardboard boxes?  Isn't cadash the only rare game in that lot?

I would imagine that price is high due to the cardboard boxes. Cadash isn't worth more than $35 boxed.

Yeah, that's pretty high, even with a handful of shitty condition boxes.
