He sold one a few weeks back for about £110 IIRC - I guess the buyer either sent it back or got pissed off, as no feedback has been left!

FINALLY got my Sapphire- well after a month of when he mailed it.  Lost in the mail with the holiday madness I'm guessing.
This game is amazing and I declare the bootleg well worth the 60 bucks.  I actually like this more than LOT (more of an overhead shooter fan) though it appears to be a shorter game.  I've never seen graphics like this on the pc-engine- and probably never will again-  obviously the arcade card power being utilized.  Bosses and mid-bosses are awe inspiring.  Soundtrack may not be as good as LOT but sounds like it could very well be from the same sessions.  Two players, 4 ships to choose from and multiple power-ups.  Goddamn this game fogging rocks.  One of the jewels in my nest along with Dracula-X and Dungeon Explorer II.

Oh crap!  Are you going to end up with two copies, or has he not yet mailed the replacement copy?  I don't know about you, but I'd hate to screw the dude out of a second copy when shipping is out his control, yet I'd also hate to eat return shipping.

Already decided I'd do the right thing.  E-mailed him already telling him that if a second copy does show up that I'll return it.  That's because it was postmarked around when he said it was- so it wasn't his fault.  I'm gonna send it back snail mail- like he sent it.

Shipping from Europe is excruciatingly slow. I try to avoid it whenever possible, and when I do, I always prepare myself for a 6-8 week wait. If it comes sooner I'm happy.

Well if he's game I'm game.  But like I said- We may be waiting a few weeks for the game to arrive if he indeed sent it.  You may want to e-mail him back- and tell him that it was purchased by a Susan Ross (my girlfriend) and was sent to NY.  Confirm with him that it is one of the unopened ones- maybe the day he sent it (he told us he shipped the second one out January 3rd) and that obviously you'd be paying strictly for the game- not the s&h (this is obvious I know)- and that you'd pay him once I received the game- not before.

Sapphire is my favorite shooter on the system. Yup, #1. The game is the "perfect" shooter on so many levels: audio, visual, gameplay. I personally like the soundtrack BETTER than the Lords soundtrack.

I believe this "boot" is actually a good, viable way for people to get a chance to enjoy a wonderful game that would otherwise be out of reach/out of budget for many. Just don't tell Tatsujin I said that, or he'll flip his lid on me.

This is true.  If it wasn't for the comparison pages- I'd have never guessed it was a bootleg.  Looks and plays like a brand spanking new Pc-engine arcade card CD to me.

I, too, am loving my Sapphire bootleg.  The only bad part of the game is the weapon sound effects - red is ok, but blue and green are fucking atrocious and can make your ears bleed.

If it wasn't for the comparison pages- I'd have never guessed it was a bootleg.

Agreed - it's very well done.  The only thing that's really suspicious looking is the over-sized inner ring.

When it shows up, guyjin Paypals that guy the $25. guyjin also Paypals Sinistron the small fee for Sinistron to ship it to him.

guyjin comes out a winner, scoring probably the best deal ever on these reprints. Even better than the deal I got when I snatched one up way back when they were $40 shipped (isn't he asking like $50-$65 now or something?).

Bottom line though is wait until the second copy shows up before making any move on this.

Right.  The wait is on.  If- say- the second game does arrive- Sinistron can also accept instead of paypal charge for s&h perhaps a cheap hucard- preferably a loose american deep blue, china warrior, or victory run- or any other inexpensive card not in Sinistron's collection that would not pain Guyjin to part with? 

Another thing is- I may possibly be moving in the next couple of weeks- if the game still hasn't arrived by then then it will eventually have to be rerouted to my new address- same neighborhood.

Nat- that move may financially hamper me moving on the tap & cable for that tap mod this week- if so then perhaps you could afford me a little more time on the ok for modding.

Moving (if the guy we interviewed with likes us enough) because of new noisy ass upstairs neighbors- and because 1050 a month (we moved in at 850 a month 4 years ago) is waaay too much for a one bedroom.  We'd rather go with a two bedroom for 1400.  Ouch.  However there will be sanity- and a washer and drier- and room for my turbo and the Imac I'm ready to buy.

So yeah- if I'm going to profit off of it in any way- he should too for being a good sport.  However guyjin should collectively pay out at least less than the amount of one off of Tobias- otherwise what'd be the point?  So $25 to Tobias sounds nice- and as for me- is there a cheap loose hucard you could offer?
