ok since i dont have a console to play the games im selling off i have a question to see if somethings possible.
could someone make a disc playable on the ps2 (since thats the only console i have) that would have all/most of the tg-16/cd/duo games on it. i always read on the list about flash carts and such just didnt know if anyone could put them on a disc.
shit even a disc playable on dreamcast, id go get another dreamcast just for that purpose. i remember i used to have a bunch of genesis games on a disc (like 700 or so games on 1 disc) that i used to play on my dreamcast all the time. i wish i could still collect but having a family makes that harder. obligations.
but id like to hear back and see if this is possible.

It's definitely possible for the cartridge games, but the large size of the CD games makes it impossible to fit them all on one disc.

Get yourself an XBox and have it modded. You can put the emulators right on the hard drive. You could easily fit the whole library, as well as many other consoles libraries. There are guys who specialize in doing this. Search around enough forums, they are not hard to find.

ok. so can someone point me in the right direction as far as getting a disc made for ps2. i could maybe trade a mid-low price game of my list for a disc that will play on the ps2 that has all the tg-16 games on it.

Even if you could get the games put on a PS2 disc, it would be a pirate disc and wouldn't work on your PS2 without getting it modded. I've never even heard of anyone doing something like this.

Read my previous post, a modded XBox is your best bet. Do some research and visit some forums and you will see who the guys are that do this all the time.

I have a friend that has a modded XBox that has every NES, SNES, Genesis, Colecovision, Atari 2600, TG-16, and Gameboy game pre-loaded on the hard drive.

I don't know much about the PS2 at all, but I just assumed there was a TG-16 emulator for it since you mentioned it. I don't actually know if such a thing exists, although I have to think there is considering there is one for both the Dreamcast and XBOX.

If you already have an XBOX your best bet would probably be the route Peluso suggests. If not, just pick up a Dreamcast cheap and go that route. You can fit the emulator + all the cartridge ROMs on a single disc.

i think im going to go the dreamcast route. its cheaper then the xbox route. plus i liked the dreamcasts controller, before i found the turbografx that was my main console. hence the user name. haha.

The Dreamcast is really great, one of my favorite consoles. I play all my SMS games on the Dreamcast anymore, same method.

nat..do you have some resources to get a complete SMS compilation on a bootable disc for the DC? i only have one for famicom soft.

it's never the real thing i know, and also i own a lot of jap. SMS soft. but for the quick run, i like this way as well.

Sadly the Ps2 homebrew/emulation scene never really took off, even with the advent of the memory card exploits and even a special cd file system that tricks the ps2 into thinking a disk full of files (such as roms) is an audio cd thus bypassing it's protection. There was a tg-16 emulator for the ps2, but further development of it stopped early on, and as such it is not very good. I think the creator of that specific emulator got mad at some "lamers" or other typical drama and said he would no longer update the emu.

Also, sorry to burst you bubble Dreamcaster, but of the two tg-16/pce emulators for the dreamcast that I know of, neither are very good. Most games have glitches, or are slow, and iso's or cd games are very buggy. Trust me I have tried them.

Really the xbox is the route to go, if you have a xbox, computer, and the right screwdriver and some technical know how you can soft mod your xbox for free. I already tried it and it works great! If you want to know how, it's via the hotswap method and is a little annoying to do the first time, but after it's modded you don't have to fool with hotswapping again. If you want I could point you in the right direction on how to softmod a xbox yourself. Trust me if you can find a cheap xbox it's worth it.

funny thing though, i got rid of my xbox like 3 months ago.
if i would have known all this i would have just saved it.
dang it.
but if there is one for ps2 id like to try it first since thats what i got and dont have to invest (times are tough). if it is as crappy as you say then i guess its on to the xbox. but looking into it early doesnt hurt either.

Do you have a Wii and Zelda? You can use the twilight hack and use the most recent version of HU-GO that has been ported. It now supports CD games and up to 4 players at the same time. The emulation is just as good as the PC version. It's not as complete as Magic Engine on PC or Temper on the GP2X, but it might be one of the most complete one's on console. Yeah it's sad there isn't a great PC-Engine emu on the DC. Dreamcast is my favorite system next to my Duo then Saturn.

The twilight hack allows for homebrew to be able to run on the wii. Homebrew can range from emulators, different applications for music, movies, ftp access and all kinds of stuff. Mostly used for emulators though. The hack is used with the Zelda Twilight Princess game. The best thing to do is go to http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Twilight_Hack If anyone needs help they can PM me. It's nice running pc-engine on the wii but doesn't even come close to playing a real Hu-Card or CD SCD/ACD on a real system. It is better than not playing any PC-Engine TG-16 at all though.

The homebrew emulators are basically worthless, but the VC turbo games are emulated virtually perfectly.

Actually the Hu-Go that got released a couple days ago for wii is actually quite good. Only thing is sometimes sound on some games. It even has CD SCD support. Yes the emulation is not as good as the VC emulation, but at least it doesn't have that terrible filtering the VC emulator has. I wish there was a way to disable that. It's kind of silly for me playing TG-16 on my wii since I have my Duo hooked up to the same TV haha. Besides I have no more space on my wii for TG-16 games since I bought most of HuCard and the SCD games currently released.
