It just came to my attention that a bomberman game was released for PC engine with the Tengai Makyo characters. Has anyone else heard of this or do you know how rare it is? On a side note Manj Maru, Kino, and a number of others are playable in the Saturn version of Bomberman but I never knew this existed until now.

It wasnt actually released, it was known as "Hi-Ten" bomberman, running in wide screen.

There have been uber threads on this over @ assemblergames.com

Cant quite remember the conclusions, though it is on PC Engine hardware, some magazines suggested modified or even PC-FX hardware.
Baseley09 in disguise.

There was this game for PCE CD that was just Bomberman '94 with Tengai Makyou characters in it. I don't think the game was released, or it might have been some sample CD, I forget.

Hi-Ten Bomberman was a Bomberman game for PC-FX that was canceled. They brought back the project to the Sega Saturn and called it "Saturn Bomberman".

oh, that's Deden No Den... it was PROMO only (don't know the details)...

yeah, I think it would be very kool to get this game... the bomberman universe needed / needs new twists like this (albeit cosmetic).  Hey, I'll buy more bomberman games even if they simpy swap in new sprites :)

I don't know how difficult it is to come by this promo... are there any auctions anywhere?

I haven't seen it, or heard of it until just now. I took a look over ebay (but not Yahoo! Japan auctions)

It's not that rare. I would think you can get it for around $50.

Yes this was the game I was talking about in my post.
