2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

congratulations!  makarena makendou is aka kendo rage z so, when you search for it, be sure to try it under both titles.  it is very hard to find.  i have seen it going for over $100 consistenly over the last four years.  i haven't played it in a long time (i only recently was able to find two copies), years after having originally sold it.  (i needed the cash 7 or 8 years back and, at the time, it wasn't hard to get).  anyway, good luck.

very nice collection.  it's interesting how little extra stuff there is for the FX.  most dating/sim categories get special edition on other consoles and come with all kinds of extra stuff (calendars, clocks, stickers, action figures etc).  it's interesting the FX didn't really have anything like that.  everything from the PSX & SS on was loaded with them. the dreamcast and ps2 had even more.  how did the FX not get anything? again, interesting.

That's a great collection, dfrost.

Congrats!! While seeing your collection, I got motivated even more to buy a PC-FX. This console has always been an interesting one and I would love to have it.

Some of the CDs in those pics look burned.  Are you sure they're all 100% original copies?

Not very sure pre-release for video game magazine or  store demo.

Do you have the Strider PC-FX demo (videotape) that NEC Ave showed off at the 1993 Tokyo Game Show? I have a spare copy around here, somewhere...

The demo had a lot of neat cinema scenes: the story revolved around Strider Jr. and his efforts to rescue his dad (Strider Senior) from Mr. Badd. Pretty awesome.

Strider on fx? i read somewhere is a unrealesed game for the supergrafx.

nat

Steve must be thinking of the rumored SuperGrafx Strider port, considering the PC-FX didn't exist in 1993 making it difficult for videotape showing footage of a PC-FX game to be shown that year.

esteban

No, I'm talking about Strider PC-FX, and the storyline was as I indicated in my original post.

Congrats on getting a complete set!

Now can you tell me, (since you have ALL of them) which titles are the best?

I do not currently own a PC-FX, I did just sell one for a friend of mine, and while it was in my possession I was drooling over how cool the system looked but there were not any titles that seemed to interest me besides Zenki, but even that seemed just OK.

Thibaut

Esteban :
I never heard about a PC-FX version of Strider. If you can find this videotape to see some pictures it will be great.
