So whats your Favorite Beer? I personally like Victory Hopdevil. it taste darn good :D I also enjoy Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA

I'll also drink Samuel Adams Boston Lager, Yuengling Lager and Black & Tan if there available I won't buy them myself though.

Nazi NecroPhile

Free and cold are my favorites, otherwise I like something dark and chewy.

BASS. No matter how many beers for wherever or what amazing new microbrew crap or whatever I always go back to Bass. It's got this flavor and quality like no other beer I've tried like they get the water from the River Thames or something. mmmmm Bass.....
I also drink a lot of Yuengling because it's cheap and tasty in Florida because one of their major breweries is here. I also went through a German and Belgian phase too but always go back to my frothy English pub beers. So comforting and tasty

"Free Beer" has to be the best word combination ever

Mishran

A topic that tugs on my heart. Yuengling is my preferred, but I'll drink any beer that isn't placed on my tab. Can't stomach Budweiser though. That crap gives me gas.

Ah, what a great thread, and yet a tricky one. I'm not a big drinker so my beer tastes break down in a long list as such:

If I'm drinking lots of beer Yuengling is what I'm gonna drink. If I know I'm only gonna have a couple of beers, I like to get picky and jump around and have different flavors. New Castle, I LOVE New Castle. Murphy's Irish Stout, or Guinness. Locally we have Mountaineer Brewing Co. (WV Represent) which has a couple of nice beers, a nice dark Nut Brown and a fantastic Amber Ale. I also like a good Hefeweizen like Franziskaner.

If Im in the mood for something COMPLETELY different, Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat is like drinking Fruity Pebbles. Or and number of Frambroise.

I like the fact that Brother Thelonius gives back to education funds and teaches underprivileged kids how to play chess. With every sip, I support a cool cause :D

My current favs are Sam Adams - Creamy Dark, Guinness and Rolling Rock.

Rolling Rock is dirt cheap, and is so smooth- great for sitting around with friends on the deck.

I'm big into Coffee flavors in beer and Sam Adams makes the best I've had.

Guinness is just guinness.  I get friend after friend hooked on this stuff.  It's also crazy the differences in bottled vs. can vs. tap.  Tap is best, but I lack any 'good' local establishments that even offer that, so can is second best.  Found Sam's club had a sale on Guinness, 24 packs for 25.99.  That price cannot be beat.

I really do like my Beers.  Ales mostly, but lagers are fine too, especially for a BBQ or a nice summer day.  Never could get into the stouts.

I'll just list the main commercial stuff, without getting into the microbrewery-stuff that 99% of people never heard about.  I've been around here and there, so it covers stuff from a lot of areas, but some of my favs that pop up in my head are:

* Sam Adams Boston Ale - I love the stuff, but I haven't had it for AGES.  Never been able to find it outside the US -- I see the Lager here and there though (which is still great stuff).
* Pete's Wicked Ale - Not the best stuff between all the quality stuff, but I have a soft spot for this one.  It was usually the best-bang-for-the-buck-for-stuff-that's-not-pisswater.
* James Squire Amber Ale (Aus) - The best quality commercial beer I've had down here in Aus.  Good stuff.
* Big Rock Trad Ale (Canada) - was my staple when living in Calgary.
* Beerlao - Awesome, flavorfull lager that goes down great, especially with cheap street-vendor food in Southeast Asia.
* Coors Light - Just one of those less-filling beers where I can drink the whole day, having a BBQ with folks.
* Asahi Super Dry - This is to Japan to Budweiser, Canadian, VB is to US/Canada/Aus, but blows away all those beers IMO.  Crisp stuff that goes great with Sushi.
* Rochefort 8 - Yeah, I said no microbrewery, but trappist stuff is well known to beer snobs, and this stuff was indeed fantastic.  Can never buy too much as it's expensive as hell down here.

Now, I haven't had much beer lately (less than a 6-pack past month).  Doctor recently told me that my liver's a bit damaged and I should take it easy on the alcohol :?

JoshTurboTrollX

90% of the bars/ parties/ reunions... etc.etc... have Bud, Bud Light, Pabst, and Coors light.... Coors light is like the one drink out of those that I don't mind.  You can't go wrong with it, it does nothing to offend, its just smooth and tasty!

I've had Asahi a few times with guess what?  Sushi!!  LOL- good stuff!

Tats introduced me to this combo :)

Very nice thread!  I don't drink as much as I used to, but depending on what I'm eating or the season I like to have a beer now and then.  Some of my fave's are:

Carlesburg
Dixie - Louisiana brewed Lagger.  very smooth beer
New Castle
James Bogues
Genesee
Stella Artois - I hear in europe it's wife beater beer.  I still like it.

If I want a cheap decent beer I'll go with PBR.  My grandfather grew me up on that beer

Best part of this thread is I get to try what everyone else drinks.  I'm sure I haven't heard of half the shit on this thread.

Anything that is a "darker" beer pretty much especially New Castle Brown ale. I use Bud Light and Miller Lite to water my lawn.

Root Beer and Ginger Ale. :)

Seriously... most people know I'm not a drinkin' man... though I did used to have the occasional blackberry/mixed berry wine cooler or a Purple People Eater (grape-flavored beer). Can't code under the influence. :)

Any of you guys tried Beamish Stout?  I saw it at the local grocery store and picked it up.  One of those 4 pack pint cans packs.  Damn, I had it right after drinking a Guinness and man o' man it was TASTY!! Real full bodied and an aftertaste I just can't describe.  Its like a lingering flavor in your mouth of awesomeness!  Really just can't be described.  I went back to that same store the next day and either I'm blind, or they sold out, or they stopped selling it!!  I was like NOOOOO!!  I asked the clerk, saying I just bought it yesterday, and they were like... 'derrr, I'm sorry I'm not sure, if you don't see it, we don't sell it....'  Bastards

http://www.beamish.ie/  find out if they got it around you and give it a go if you haven't tried it.

Nope. But I've seen at the local beer distributor. I'll have to pick it up now.

are there any other states out there besides PA where you can't find Beer & Liquor in the Super Market and numerous other stores. in PA only the State stores sell wine & liquor, Beer you can get distributors but thats it and distributors only carry Beer, i believe beer is legal for any business to sell though as long they have a license. good luck getting one though. the state hardly any which creates a big aftermarket where they sell for as much a small house and up.

I got some Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA and its damn hoppy :D

A lot of other Anglo countries I've been to are like that -- Canada, Australia and New Zealand, you have to go to specified liquor stores to buy your booze (I dunno about UK or South Africa).  It's gay, not to mention expensive.  In Aus, you'll pay an average of $15 for a six-pack, In Canada, slightly less, but still a lot more than US.  Last I recall (2005-6), an average 6 pack was going for like, what, $7-$8 in the US? Is that still true?

Jesse813

The local distributors i go don't sell 6 packs just 24 Can/Bottle Case. though 7-8 sounds about right for what i usually pay when I'm in NJ or some other state.

I've gotta say; the Trader Joe's beer is great. Simpler times and Name Tag are clutch and $3 a six-pack.

IMG

But I do recommend the lager over the pilsner (pictured)

JoshTurboTrollX

Beamish has been dropped by our local distributor... I guess next time I'm out of the area I'll have to look around.

You actually shop at a beer distributor, or do you own a business and sell beer?

i shop at one. its practically the only option here in PA since you can't find beer in the Supermarket and convenient stores.

JoshTurboTrollX

I guess I'm a bit spoiled in Central WI as we have at least one liquor store, one church, one bar and now at least one Payday cash loan place on every city square block.... LOL :P

So who here will ship me some Beamish?  LOL
