Someone at a different forum is selling a turboexpress for $60 w/streetfighter ce but the turboexpress has two dead pixels.  Would that be a problem when playing a game?

Are you sure it's a Turbo Express because Street Fighter CE is a japanese hucard and a TE can only play US hucards. You need a PC-Engine GT to play a japanese hucard.

Anyway, it depends on where the dead pixels are located. I wouldn't mind if they're in the far corners, but it might be annoying if they're in the middle of the screen. And on a small screen it's very noticeable.

I would wait until you can buy one thats least in good condition. It doesn't matter if the unit has "low sound" because it's only a minor problem since D-Lite found a remedy for it.

Rolins already mentioned the important stuff. Personally, for $60, I wouldn't mind if 2 pixels were dead -- assuming that only two isolated pixels were actually dead.

2 cents:
I'd ask for a screenshot of the TE (or GT) screen. Tell the person to pause the game on a part of the game with lots of non-black areas (if not possible, turn up brightness all the way). Place both TE and camera on table, so nothing moves. Have camera on "macro" setting, no flash.

I have a cheap digital camera and I got a blurry, but useful, screenshot with absolutely no effort. With a little more patience and using manual focus, I'm sure you could get something much nicer. This is everyone's favorite game, POWER GOLF:

OK, maybe it isn't so easy to get a useful screenshot. I managed to get things in focus, but the dead pixel in the middle of my screen isn't visible.

Perhaps turning up the brightness all the way is the best method, but my dead pixel shows up as a "turquoise blue", which is hard to see in a photo.

I guess getting a decent screenshot is a fine art, and I have ways to go. If anyone out there has any tips, please post links.

sorry to derail this topic.

I've one dead pixel and it's not that much of a big deal. Thankfully it's not in the middle of the screen. It's a lovely shade of green as you can see. The rest of the spots on screen are just dust and stuff.

Haha, it is a lovely shade indeed!
