Mike brought up Yoo-hoo in shout today so I got an instant craving and ran out for a can.

yoohoo.webp

but it made me remember the imitators that I drank back in the day- specifically Chocolate Cow, Chocolate Soldier, Chocolate Brownie and Famous Amos' Chocolate Drink.  Turns out that most of the imitators were actually made by Yoo-hoo themselves- and that they are discontinued.  Anyone remember any of these drinks or similar ones?  Chocolate Cow was my favorite of all the watery chocolate drinks- and it came in a brown can with a picture of a cow jumping over the moon.  :)

Yoo-hoo was great, esp ice cold. I will always love choco milk more, but if you cant get access to good quality  choco milk, yoohoo is the next best thing. Esp easier to get when your out and about. Now Im craving it :(.

I was never much of a fan of Yoo-hoo and its ilk (I'd much rather have a glass of real milk), though it's far better than the short lived Shasta chocolate soda.  Anybody remember drinking any of that shit?

Strangely enough I have no memory of chocolate sodas other than diet ones- Canfield's Diet Chocolate Fudge Soda and Canfield's Diet Cherry Chocolate Fudge Soda.  As far as I know they never made non-diet- and the soda was absolutely disgusting- but I drank it anyway whenever I was at my Aunt's just because it had the tempting words "chocolate", "soda" and "fudge".

that said, I remember having it when I was a kid once in a while, but I don't think I liked it that much - we got store-brand chocolate milk far more often.

Wikipedia alleges that the stuff never spoils, so long as the container is sealed.  :-k

Only had Yoohoo once when I used to live in Ontario. Unless Labatt's decides to make a chocolate beer, there's no hope of any watery, chocolately goodness for teh ceti. heh  :-&

For now, I'll have to make do with my Nestlé Quick and Milk.

Go south of the border and enjoy a brew made with fine Swiss chocolate, the Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock.

Speaking of spoilage...my friend gave me a limited edition can of 'Mountain Dew Game Fuel' for Christmas (since I am a huge Mountain Dew fan). These beverages were released when Halo 3 hit the stores (Summer of 07??). The side of the can says "Best Taste drink by date on botton of can". The bottom of the can says "Feb 18 08". The container is still sealed... but apparently I will not get the best taste. I suppose that even if I don't risk a sip, I'll still have the limited edition can for my collection.

I.....want.....to....try...... =P~  I'm going to have to see if any specialty stores are carrying this, or if I can at least order some in through the liquor store.

You should be able to find some Yoo Hoo in Toronto, at the very least Sparks. That was the one and only time I've found that stuff in Canada. But that was also years and years ago now. Actually, the TG-16 had just come out at that time. hehe

Chocolate Soldier, Chocolate Cow and Yoo Hoo all remind me of one thing:

Explosive Diarrhea.

The label to Chocolate Soldier especially:

So have fun with that one, and this:

lol, yes; the expired soda has turned me into a super hero! Btw!; turbo D has actually acquired and tried chocolate beer! It was called something like a double chocolate stout. It was really good, not too sweet, but good. I guess it tasted like you would imagine a chocolate beer to taste.

Hey I'm Venezuelan, so I get to make fun of them too. The thing is, its not that bad of a word where I live. Its just part of the slang they use around here.
