@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

The French PCE community had a party in Paris last Saturday to commemorate the PCE's 30th anniversary.

The party was held in a museum in Paris, next to the Montmartre area and the only drink we had was champagne of course.

Here are some pics of this event:

General Gaming / Game Preservation Society
11/30/2016, 05:23 PM
You may already have heard of it but the Game Preservation Society is a colective in Japan whose aim is to preserve old computer, arcade and also console games and systems.

It was founded by frenchman Joseph Redon (who I personnaly know).

Last monday, NHK World aired a 27 minute documentary dedicated to this incredible work.

The documentary is now available for two weeks for watching at http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/vod/lens/20161128/

The documentary is in english ;)

Hey guies !

You may not know Necstasy, the French Obey Forums (some of you do, I hope).

Tonkatsu, one of the members there, recently created a Youtube channel : Necstasy TV, where you can enjoy longplays all made by members of the forums.
Enjoy and don't hesitate to post comments

Hey guies !

I've been thinking of translating Gulliver Boy one day. I've worked on a few PCE translation projects (DOTB 1&2 -in French-, which is still to be released, Shada, etc.)

Up till now, I've always answered some requests from devs who had already been working on the extraction of the scripts.

Now, as I have less and less time to work on such projects, I'd like to translate a game that I love so much that I want all non-japanese readers to be able to enjoy this game.

So I'd like to know if there's a dev out there willing to extract the script of this wonderful game, so that I can translate it ?
#9
Hi there,

A lot seems to be going on recently translation-wise. The only shameful thing is that it's hard to know who's able or willing to do what.

So my proposition is to list here all the devs and translators to build a pool or even a team.

As I said several times, there are many RPG's that I think are worth being translated so that more PCE lovers can enjoy them, so you can count me in, even for direct translations to english (even if my english is not perfect ;) ).

Who's in ?

Devs:

Translators:

  • shubibiman
  • SamIAm

Hey,

I've been trying to connect to pcedaisakusen.net for a couple of days but it seems there's a problem.

I want to update my status there ;(

This is a new topic in which the members willing to be part of a fundraiser to gather enough bucks to get the Dino Force prototype can tell what amount they can put in.

The idea is as follow :

We try and find as many volunters as needed to gather the 500 000 yens akiba games asks for it. Ccovell or any other trustworthy member of this board who lives in Japan would be in charge of checking that the thing is legit. Then, we would make a public release (CD or Hucard format, whatever).

To those who spend their time complaining (Prof), you've got the other thread to do so.

This is in the interest of PC Engine's worldwide community.

Here is the list of members here or at Necstasy (French PCE board) and how much they can pay :

-Shubibiman : 100/150€
-Cosmos : 100€
-Slugman : 100€
-lkermel : 100$
-Sateric : 100€
-Laucops : 100€
-Thanator : 100€
-Peperocket : 100€
-Syd : 100€
-Samlepirate : 100€
-Punkic Cyborg : 50$
-Blue BMW : 50$
-Bernie : 50$
-Sign of Zeta : 50$
-Maxwar : 50$
-Sirg : 200€
-Theclash603 : 50$
-ParanoiaDragon : 100$
-Sadler : 100$
-Bardoly : 50$
-Vestcunt : 50$
-Shion : 100€
-Maaku : 100€
-Redfield : 100€
-Rayxamber : 100€
-Necromancer : 50$

1450€ and 700$ so far as of sunday november 4.

The hacking was made by Mooz, the translation by myself and the beta testing by Kaminari and Laucops. As you can see, this time I decided to translate it directly to english as there's not so much text. Enjoy. :P

Some friends told me that they found a mame rom of Gunhed. It appears that there was an arcade system based on a turbografx and made by United Amusement, a bit like Nintendo's Playchoice. Have you heard of such a thing?

You may know that many french are crazy about the PC Engine, here is an illustration of this statement :

http://kotomiblog.blogspot.com/

The ultimate RGB modded DUO, that can read both PC Engine and Turbografx Hucards.
This was an idea of a member of our french forums, Boby Jack, and was designed by Kotomi, a guy who tunes video gme systems.

Enjoy :P

Hi there,

Being a French pc engine fan, I have many questions to you US fans 'cause the japanese pc engine was more popular in our country back then (actually it was the only version ever imported there). Many a times, I have wondered wether the Turbografx16, CD or Turboduo games ALL came with boxes. I know for instance that all the older games came with both a crystal case AND  a box but what about the more recent ones? It seems, when I do searches on ebay or here, that at one point, Turbo games started being sold without boxes. Am I guessing right? If so, could you tell me which games only came in crystal cases?

Thanks for your answers
