Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

Ultimate Ghost 'n Goblins was on my wanted list for PSP when I first got the machine but I never went for it. I don't know why... It looks really awesome just by looking at the cover as well! :)

Quote from: nectarsis on 03/08/2012, 01:30 PMTrue, and that may some day be a problem for those that go with DL only games (I still say a retarded idea), but if you run retail games even an 8GB will be fine for a long time.
God yes, downloaded games is really shitty. I really don't like the trend of eveything being DRM-locked and basically just for rent.
#53
Quote from: nectarsis on 03/08/2012, 10:44 AMPretty sure a 32GB stick is good for a LOT more space than a few DL's/instals LOL.
Average games I've heard is about 500-1000MB. Uncharted is almost 4GB. And as we all know, a 32GB memory card isn't giving us 32GB of usable space.
I'm not saying it's so small it's completely useless, but I'm saying it will fill up pretty fast if you are a frequent Vita-user.

I mean... they also laughed and said 20GB would be more than enough for a 360 hard drive. ;)
#54
No worries mate, I fixed it for you.

Quote from: Frank_fjs on 03/08/2012, 05:28 AMPretty much all retro consoles do. The Mega Drive has them, SNES, PC Engine, NES etc.
Yeah, I knew about those though! But I hadn't seen Saturn ones before. I like how they look as well. Samurai, what's a "great price" for the receiver and two controllers?
#56
Sweet, I didn't know the Saturn had wireless controllers!
#57
Regarding the capitalist bastard move from Capcom: Yeah, I pretty much agree. I never pay for stuff like that. And it's getting worse by the minute. I mean, look at the Vita. You have to buy an expensive memory card (proprietary of course) just to be able to play games - and the largest one they have for sale (which costs insanely much) isn't enough for more than a few installs and downloads. That alone made me ignore the Vita release. It's just.. No. "Why? Because fuck you, that's why."

I would call him on that Venom. :D

Yeah, I didn't find the cord to the camera so I googled and just took the first hits. :) I'm planning on making up for it later by taking pictures of my next purchases together with my penis.
#60
The first three I really like. The rest I have no clue yet.
#61
I bought these games today(ish):

I don't smoke but the game just seems so stupid I had to try it out. It costed me 1 swedish crown which is about.. $0,1.

And I got these for free:

I got Street Fighter II for the PC Engine just a few days ago so I'm not able to really say anything yet. The awkward (better word than unique I would say) controls are messing my gameplay up but over all it seems pretty bad ass! I love the sound.

Super Street Fighter II for the SNES is my choice when it comes to Street Fighter. Or was it Street Fighter Turbo? Uuh... Something.
#63
The trick was to find a good hairspray! I could put it up in under 15 minutes and then it stayed up all day. But yeah, it's sweet not to have it anymore. I made dreadlocks out of it, so I have what they call a "dreadhawk" now. No more coloring, no more caring. I just shave the sides now and then, almost like you in other words, and don't use a comb. ;)
#64
This is from the late 90s up to... 2010. Around 12 years of the same fucking mohawk.

Quote from: SuperDeadite on 03/06/2012, 07:50 AMThe proper word is "shooter."  If people are too dumb to understand what I'm talking about, it's their own ignorant fault.  Why the hell must I talk like a moron just to help out real morons?  Makes no sense.
Shoot 'em up, FPS and TPS are all subcategories of the term shooter. If you want to deny that the language undergoes a constant evolution I'd say you are the ignorant one. ;)
#67
Shooter is not defined enough. The most common use of shooter seems to be when there is mostly shooting - which means people say shooter about FPS, shoot 'em up, run and gun and so on. Shoot 'em up is the proper term and shmup is a short version of it. I have heard of people who think the word sounds too childish, but abbreviations tend to work that way.

I don't say "shmup" in my everyday language, I say shoot 'em up or shooter, but that's because my friends know that I mean shoot 'em up when I say shooter. ;) I just don't get why some people really dislike the word shmup so much that they have to try and stop it.

I can't help it, every time I see Saturn-games my heart gets a little warmer!
#69
I also love Metal Storm but 1) it has nothing to do with shoot 'em up and 2) VenomMacbeth has it already. :)

I am a little curious about why SignOfZeta doesn't like the word shmup.
I am also a little curious of why our government hasn't told us that we're funding a missile factory in Saudi Arabia but that's a different topic.

Fuckadoodle, I missed Batsugun! What did you let it go for? (I'm trying to understand it's value but I see all kinds of numbers flying around)

My favorite NES shmup is Over Horizon, I'd say it's definitely worth a look!

It was fun but a little tedious, surely there must be an easier way than to take several screenshots and go from there? I mean, couldn't you just get the sprites some other way than through hammering "Print Screen"? If I for example needed to get a background tile there isn't always a good way to do that since there's almost always enemies and other characters on screen. In either case, I'm willing to help out if someone *cough*sunteam_paul?*cough* wanted to expand the sprite section.
#74
It looks so cheesy and fake that I can't help to wonder: have anyone seen the DVD? I mean... there's a "No Questions Asked 30 Day Money Back Guarantee & Warranty". Someone should get the discs, rip them, send them back and then post them online. I have never seen these things irl so I'm very curious on how they are structured to fool people.

Almost immediately after the post above I got ignored by two members - I wonder who "they" are. ;)

Or Teenage Mutant Rainbow Turtles.
#77
dq333: Both pictures have the title in the filename. :) It's Hany in the sky.
#78
Haha, yeah, it's like that!

Did you know that we didn't even get the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? "Ninja" was a too offensive word that would make kids play ninjas so they changed it to Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. Way to go, world! :D

Quote from: esteban on 03/04/2012, 09:01 AMTurn off Twisted Metal Green Sweat and power up your Famicom. Or NES. Whatever. Just do it. Faxanadu, for all its flaws, is a great game.
Haha, I wish I could! I can try it out next week.

A Pippin?! That's pretty cool! How much did you pay for it?
#82
Quote from: esteban on 03/03/2012, 10:49 PMSo, what country are you in?
Sweden. Usually we have no censorship or stuff like that at all - but when something is supposed to fit europe as a unity, it mostly gets censored and chopped up because of Germany. Those guys sometimes even change the color of the blood from red to green...
#83
Quote from: esteban on 03/03/2012, 04:33 PMPrecisely. The lack of support for Faxanadu here is troubling.
I would also go for Faxanadu if I had played it more. I tried it out and then put it in the shelf "for later". It's been six years now and that "later" has evidently not come yet. :)

Quote from: guest on 02/17/2012, 12:42 PMJust a note that imageshack (which I've been using to hold these high resolution scans) are now screwing us all over by deleting pictures if you have over 500 stored.

I'm going to have to go back through everything and move it all onto my site and either remake every thumnbnail or use text links. That might take a bit of time, so the scans not up yet will have to wait for a bit (but they will go up eventually).
Typical. I was searching for a good, hassle free image storing solution since I got tired of photobuckets flashinfested mess of a page and registered on imageshack just a few weeks ago. Guess the search goes on then.

Oh for fuck sake. Twisted Metal is CENSORED in Europe. It's not as bad as in Twisted Metal Black (where ALL the cutscenes was completely removed) but we still don't get the gory stuff. It's insane. It's 2012, not 1812. Give. Us. The. Fucking. Gore. You. Pieces. Of. Shit.

I'm going to tell everyone to import this title right in the review. Not a penny should be paid for the whimpversion.

Quote from: VenomMacbeth on 02/13/2012, 08:53 PMDamn, that's kind of scary...if it is nintega, I mean.  If someone's THAT obsessed with something as trivial as trolling a gaming forum, who knows what kind of shit they're likely to do.  O__O  Guess I'm late on the scene, though.
As stated there seems to be something really wrong with the guy and there is nothing we can do. Just do what I do and ignore the hell out of anything related to nintega himself and the discussion around him. I know this post breaks my own "rule" but.. Yeah. :) It just seems like a lot of energy has been wasted on him so.. Maybe it's time to just stop it. If he can't, we can.

My favorite shmup "vehicle" (not all are ships like we are about to be reminded of) is hands down Kiniro. The bug you ride on in Mushihimesama.

Close runner-up is Opa Opa.

Good luck! Be sure to let us/me know how it went!

Personally I have used the method three times up to this point, all being smoke-related. It even worked with a bunch of controllers and other plastic/rubber thingys, not just paper and other "easy" materials.

iwasateenagepcenginefan is "The Gay Gamer". He's awesome and really frequent in his posts!

Another cool blog I tend to check out every now and then (I rarely read blogs so it's uncommon for me) is The Dreamcast Junkyard.
And this is as far back in time I'm going to dig in the forums tonight!

White vinegar. This is an old household trick that really works, so I'm not trying to be funny or anything. Just pour a bit in a glass and then put the glass with what ever that smells bad in a closed off area (a box, a plastic bag, a cupboard etc) and wait over night. The smell will in 99% of the cases be gone. Of course it will smell slightly of vinegar right after but it goes away fast.

I don't have so many favorite icons... I like Pac-Man and Mega Man.

But other favorite characters of mine includes Pyramid Head, Firebrand, Shuguy and the Helghast soldier.

Are there any sites out there like, let's say Spriters Resource, focused on the PC Engine?
I saw the sprite sheet index on pcengine.co.uk but it doesn't have what I search for. (currently, I'm on the hunt for all the sprites for A.N.G.E.L. You know, the fish in Deep Blue)
