Quote from: guest on 07/10/2017, 04:15 AMMy coffee maker.

IMG

Doesn't have a single button.
No electronics to die.
Spare parts (gasket, filter, etc.) readily available.
Will survive global warming and nuclear winter.
Yes, I have a "camping" (cylindrical) aluminum pot where the coffee grinds are suspended up in a basket atop a pole and you can see the water percolate through the handle on top of lid.

I love seeing the water percolate in the clear crystal handle... it's so fun, satisfying.

The problem is that it doesn't make a gallon of coffee, just two modest cups. That's why I call it my "camping" coffee maker...

As an American, I "need" a gallon of coffee. Now. Even if I drink some of it cold. Later. Gimme it all now.

It is pathetic. But true.

^ SPICY HOT PARODIUS. I fully endorse. :)

Here, let's compare the Vigilante as DOMESTIC and IMPORT:

NOTE: I would never drink goofy stuff like RAZZBERRY ICE. However, I wouldn't necessarily decline one once I've imbibed a few other beverages.

Digi.k: You went all "lemony" and "lime" and sweet and fragrant (jasmine!).

It perfectly complements such a sweet, savory, energetic game.

To contrast your pick, you know I had to go BITTER and CHEWY...

...and HIRSUTE.

TRIVIA: I still remember reading the review for this game and looking forward to it! Oh...if only.

I have yet to try the PC-Engine on it. There might be a chance that the TV takes 60 htz kindly.
Comrade, I love that TV.

:)

My parents always told me and my brothers to play outside or read a book—so, my Dad would only let us watch TV on special occasions.

An old B/W TV...the first 12-13 years of my life was in b/w:

Three's Company
Cartoons (anime)
Star Trek (original and TNG)
Dr. Who
Blake's 7
Atari 2600
Apple II

In 1987-88, we finally got a color TV (and NES shortly thereafter).

~20 years ago, I got this beauty:

IMG

RCA Victor 19"-20" b/w circa ____

...but, sadly, the cost of replacing the vacuum tubes and ______ were so crazy (even in late 90's), that I was unable to restore it.

So I did a horrible thing and gutted it (modern CRT, cable box hidden behind speaker grill, new speakers + subwoofer, DVD+VCR hidden underneath (on floor).

IMG

To play video games, I just plugged AV cables into RCA jacks on front of DVD/VCR.

I was just wondering if there was a sound test so I could play all the PSG tunes in Death Bringer?

The music I've heard so far is OK and I'd like to hear more.

Thank you in advance.

So, my 5.9 year old daughter is "playing" Death Bringer (wandering about town and complaining when it cycles from day to night...she's right, it is hard to see at night in this game... even when I turn up the brightness).

She thought the cover art for Death Bringer was kool and wanted to play it.

However, after 15 minutes, she just said: "This is a boring game."

"I warned you," I replied.

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 07/06/2017, 02:41 AMI'm not a massive fan of his games but his movies are totally unique. He's one of the few celebrities that don't want to make me puke every time I see him. He's a true artist and puts everything he has into his movies. He's very aware of his influence in Chinese parts of the world (there are no white people as popular as him, his popularity is unreal) and the consequences of his actions as a mega celebrity. His autobiography is one of my favorite books.

Of course all the movies he's made in the last 15 years are crap but he's got a lifetime pass for me based on Police Story, Drunken Master II, Rumble in the Bronx, Project A, City Hunter, etc etc.

Comrade NecroPhile is correct, this mystery is explained by the Rising Sun.

(click for larger) STACK ON RIGHT = FADED

IMG

IMG

The stack on the left is for REFERENCE.

PHOTO 1: The STACK on the RIGHT has faded spines.

PHOTO 2: I rotated the STACK on the right 180º to show you how, for most titles, the spine is "green", but, sadly, Valis IV (top) and Death Bringer (bottom) have fading on BOTH spines. Ha!

I just quickly grabbed games that were "representative" of green for the LEFT stack...I tried to get non-faded, consistent green (but it might not be perfect).

NOTE: You would SWEAR that Death Bringer was printed blue, but if you look close in bottom photo, you can see that there is the *slightest* tinge of green that fades from bottom-to-middle. The photo is not ideal (shadows), but when handling item you can see the subtleties.

Rockin. Did you use an old PCE case or a new blank? I have had trouble sourcing thick, high-quality blank cases lately.
Mathius, I believe that is actually a QUAD-CASE (salt-n-pepper variant).

It holds up to 4 standard discs.

Or 13 mini-discs.

PRO TIP: To avoid frustration in Tricky Kick, you should stay fully hydrated.

Quote from: esteban on 06/24/2017, 04:25 AMYou picked the perfect game because nobody ever talks about Tricky Kick... not even the "cinemas" with wacky storylines!!!!

:)

JOKE: Tricky Kick is best played on TurboExpress.
I don't think that I've ever played Tricky Kick on anything but an Express or GT. Most of my play time with it was as a rental from a store which had imports, since Tricky Kick and Sinistron weren't distributed in Canada. They also imported Cadash and Parasol Stars.

When my Mother asked me if there was anything I wanted her to pick up during a trip to Washington, I asked for the TurboChip Sidearms, even though I'd had Sidearms Special for years. I just wanted to make good use of the opportunity to get to experience a version of a game that I couldn't otherwise, was curious how the chiptunes turned out and thought that it would be cool to play on my Express while walking across town.
You are crazy! You gotta try the game on a larger screen...the sprites are still "tiny", but at least you can appreciate their design a bit more.

Sidearms chiptunes are great and hold up very well to the Red Book, IMHO.

Quote from: bartre on 06/10/2017, 05:00 PMI don't have any kind of problem with quote "collecting," the problem lies with "collectarding"

it's not what you have, it's what you do.
Collectards try to screw each other over in the pursuit of material goods.

Yup. Totally.

Plus, as most of us have acknowledged, many of us *do* have a fetish for jewel cases and HuCARD sleeves and boxes and stuff.

BUT, since that is our "fantasy", in reality, we are still happy if we "do without"/emulate/flashcart/burn CD.

For example, I would love to have boxes for most of my games, but I know that I'll only actually possess a few boxes.
