Quote from: RegalSin on 09/21/2012, 02:23 PM.........meh They should have just filmed the locations, and make a dreamcast game, instead with pre-rendered backgrounds ( like Resident Evil ). Meh....Have no idea what you just said...
Quote from: esteban on 09/16/2012, 07:21 AMYour batteries are corroding at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean as I type this.Man...not only do i not get the shipment, now they're gonna get some fishes killed at the bottom of the Pacific...to go along with all the dead shark carcuses(sp?) with missing fins Thumbs up
Quote from: PikachuWarrior on 09/16/2012, 10:07 PMHalf Price Books:Nice! i just got into the SSX games this last boarding season, borrowed SSX3 for ps2 off my cousin. Fun game, and very impressive graphics for it's time...it actually simulated the vertigo/high heights feeling very very well.

Quote from: NightWolve on 09/14/2012, 05:34 PMI'd be down with that thread...i'm more a movie (theater, dvd, blu's) watcher then YouTube watcher anyways (gasp!)
On Expendables 2 which I saw on the opening weekend, I thought it was an improvement on the first one, but that it could've been a whole lot better. It's too bad they didn't get a better action director given the all star cast that was put together. This is what I wrote about it in my facebook account:
EDIT: Thought I'd mention a rental of Jean Claude Van Damme's new movie, "6 Bullets" and that I'd recommend it! Not bad, just don't EVER rent his last Universal Soldier movie, that wasn't even worth the dollar I spent on it!
A thought: You know how we have a "What are you watching on youtube?" ongoing thread? Would anyone besides myself care for a more general "Movie Picks" thread to post about the latest movie you saw, enjoyed and would recommend ? Worth it or no ?
Quote from: wilykat on 09/14/2012, 01:41 AMDid you know?Funny ass thing that happened...when they sent me the paypal refund, in the msg line they actually requested that i pay them back if/when the batteries show up on my doorstep. SCREW YOU!!! I'm gonna take your batteries for wasting my damn time, monday is week 8 since order was shipped...they probably fell off the cheapass shipping boat sailing across the Pacific
If you get item not as described, and the auction's ship from location is not valid (ie Ships from USA when seller is not in USA) often you can get refund without shipping back. I had a case I bought a laptop battery from a seller listed in Texas. The tracking # I got a few days later were weird and not in USPS, FedEx, or UPS format. I think it was Chinese post. I got the battery 3 weeks later and it doesn't fit at all, even though the description stated fits laptop xxxx and replaces battery xxxx that matches mine. Contacted seller, they claimed I was wrong about my laptop (how can I be wrong? It's printed on my laptop and battery) and stated no refund, exchange only.
Filed claim, eBay said send it back, I pointed to them the seller's listed in Texas but the return address is not Texas. eBay said keep the battery and sent me full refund.
Quote from: guest on 09/12/2012, 03:44 PMIn the future, stay right on top of the dates. If a seller tells you shipping could take up to five weeks, send then another email and open your ebay dispute right at the end of the fifth week, not week 7. Good luckThanks Vest, will do!

Quote from: Flare65 on 09/05/2012, 12:29 AMThe Thing is indeed an awesome movie...i just wished i saw it when i was a kid in the 80's so that it would scare the living SHIT out of me!Quote from: Colossus1574 on 09/05/2012, 12:20 AM$10 for Conan on Blu with audio commentary by Ahnold...couldn't resist that!!!The Thing was awesome! If you have never seen the 2011 prequel, you should rent it NOW! Its basically everything that takes place at the Norwegian camp and leaves off right at the start of the 1982 film!
Lockout i found was a neat little action flick, good seeing Pearce in a starring role again.
The Thing...can't believe i've NEVER seen this horror gem until last night, now i know why it's a classic
I think the commentary track with Arnold on Conan the Barbarian is the same track he recorded with the director that appeared in the standard DVD release. Its worth a listen to. Arnold sounds like he is high on drugs on the commentary and can barely remember making the film. He says insightful stuff like.... "Here is where I swing the sword!" "Oh yeah, now I swing the sword" and "Now I swing the sword" Very insightful stuff! They should have used it as an anti-drug message for school kids!
Quote from: TR0N on 09/02/2012, 03:52 AMWhat alphaomegasin thinks about itHahahha, shit, he may be over the top...but it was f'n hilarious hearing him rant! Zeta, i kinda hear your sense of humor and sarcasm in his rant
Quote from: FiftyQuid on 09/04/2012, 09:44 PMSome of my favourite covers. The cover with Storm still gets me aroused. My favourite character has always been Gambit so I had to get his initial issue. Not a great story, but I love the character.Hahaha FiftyQ, if you get "aroused" by that cover, i'm sure my signed copy will wet your pants!!! Was at a convention recently and met Wilce Portacio, also bought a Spidey print since i don't ever remember him drawing him.

Quote from: kazekirifx on 08/24/2012, 12:20 AMThanks for the full details Kaze! Man...that really bites though, $1000 every 2 years is steep. Our "aircare" checks are $90 Cdn for 2 years (vehicles '92 and newer). But i TOTALLY agree with you in terms of the new car styles common in cramped cities like Tokyo. I get the same feeling when i visit my family in Hong Kong and see the new cars there, boring...but at least it's not too hard to hold on to older cars there, i still see quite a few "ricers". The current trend here these last 2 years, i've been seeing way more imports of cargo/transport vans like Mitsubishi Delicas...I think the insurance companies here have been making it too $$$ to bring in the performance vehicles...Quote from: 420GOAT on 08/21/2012, 09:43 PMi love Japanese plates!Yeah. The number is no longer used, and I don't live in the same prefecture anymore, so I don't see much danger in posting my plate online.Quote from: Colossus1574 on 08/22/2012, 03:13 PMKaze, pardon me for being lazy and not googling it...but why/what are the reasons older cars are so hard to keep on the road in Japan? I heard the stipulations for Aircare (what it's called in Canada) is super tough as the car gets older. Is this the reason you no longer own the 'Lude? Because the last few years here, right hand drive cars have been very very popular here, cause they're arriving on our docks in amazing condition/low kms and at very good prices! Skylines being the must common one, man the R34s are beautiful...If I ever buy another car in Japan, I'm going straight to the used market again, for sure. Besides, the majority of new car designs here are boring family wagons or tiny fuel-efficient shopping carts with engines. I'll take a '90s sports car over that boring crap any day.

On the plus side, the awful lighting helps hide the massive dent in the driver's side fender. Still wish I knew the asshole responsible for that!Cool, was a dream car of mine for the longest time, wanted it in the dark metallic green...up here in Canada we only have the shitty Stealth (GTO's younger ugly sister).
No, it's not the fastest car out there. Yes, it weighs a billion pounds. No, it doesn't handle great. Regardless, I love this thing. Easily my favorite car I've owned. If only it did better in the snow.
I thought the 4WD would rock in the snow, Sadler? Is it a VR-4?....unfortunately even the Twin turbo can't offset the crazy weight on this baby...

Quote from: NightWolve on 08/20/2012, 11:08 AMSounds like he catches the same shit that Michael Bay does for emphasis on action over story though, but fuck those people, I enjoyed many of his movies!I'd take Scott over Bay ANY DAMN DAY! Tranformers is such an overrated mess and now we gotta put up with a 4th one!?!?
Quote from: turbokon on 08/18/2012, 02:11 PMPlanning to watch expendables 2 this weekend. This time I'm rooting for the bad guy. JVCD!!HELLLLLYA, i'm a huge JCVD fan and not afraid to admit it! So glad that he's back on the big screen again!

Quote from: TheClash603 on 08/18/2012, 01:45 PMSaw Expendables 2 last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit and was really surprised by how well JCVD was in the flick.NICE! I'm going to go watch it in 2.5 hrs with my group of 80s-90s action-flick afficiados...i'm sure it's not gonna disappoint, Clash!
Go in without back hair, leave with plenty. And your dick will grow. Trust me.
Quote from: Firebomber7 on 08/18/2012, 01:26 AMYep...too bad the Robotech: New Generation or Mospeada (Genesis Climber?) sucked i heard...Quote from: Colossus1574 on 08/17/2012, 04:44 PMWow...after all this talk about Macross games, i'm suprised nobody mentioned Robotech: BattleCry for ps2, gc, xbox?!I do like Battlecry, though. They did a REALLY good job with it, despite my mixed feelings with Robotech.
I think it's the only one that's pretty good after graphics went 3D...
Quote from: SignOfZeta on 08/17/2012, 05:05 PMThanks for the suggestion Zeta, i Youtubed them just now, they do look pretty neat...but i'm gonna minus points cause it's not based off of the 1st Macross SagaQuote from: Colossus1574 on 08/17/2012, 04:44 PMWow...after all this talk about Macross games, i'm suprised nobody mentioned Robotech: BattleCry for ps2, gc, xbox?!Evidently you never played Artdink's PSP/PS3 games or the PS2 Macross game.

Quote from: PCEngineHell on 08/17/2012, 04:53 PMOf course if we all waited a week or 2 later...didn't they release version E of the X-men #1 which just had a foldout cover with ALL the covers connected together? hahah. Except it had green background instead of dark red....well guess what? Let's juice it ONE MORE TIME with a 20th Anniversary edition!!!Quote from: Colossus1574 on 08/17/2012, 04:30 PMOh and Quid, u forgot to complete the set of Issue #1 overruns with the Jim Lee X-Men#1s....now this one i did get suckered into buying all 5 covers...the art was just amazing!Yeah the art was amazing on X-Men #1 multi cover, but for some odd reason it along with X-Force issue 1 seemed to have a staple problem.
Suddenly ebay comes along and now every comic under the sun is listed for sale, more copies of said issues then there are actual collectors because all the dick faces that only got into it for money buying up everything in sight finally decided to try to cash in.
Quote from: T2KFreeker on 08/17/2012, 04:44 PMBig collections? I have 15 Long Boxes and comics loose stacked on top of them! It's too much, but I just can't let them go!We are creatures of nostalgia, OF COURSE we can't let'em go T2k! hahaha. "Props" on the collection...i only got half of your's i think. Mind you, i still buy a few here and there when i attend conventions for fun.
Quote from: SignOfZeta on 08/17/2012, 04:01 PMYep, i remembered those days...when the hot #1s would be out that week, there were always the "keeners" who picked up an extra 2 or 3 or 4 copies of said issue. This was maybe 3-5 years AFTER i got into collecting so knew what these guys were thinking...but man, so glad i didn't have the budget to pull that crap!Quote from: FiftyQuid on 08/17/2012, 08:27 AMI'm not sure why I'm taking your comment personal Zeta,Don't take it personal. The reason I know that stuff is garbage is because I have all the same stuff!
I don't have nostalgia for this period though. This was when guys in suits with MBAs would come into my local shop and buy five copies of everything because they thought they would be able to sell each book for hundreds in the future. The same assholes that got burned on CDOs in 2009. They turned what I like into...basically what eBay has done for the TG16.
Quote from: TheClash603 on 08/15/2012, 08:27 PMI saw Total Recall the night it came out for some god awful reason. It will Clash! JCVD guarantees it with a "splits kick" seal of approval!
Hopefully the Expendables 2 gets that bad taste out of my mouth this weekend!
Quote from: HardcoreOtaku on 08/05/2012, 08:44 AMI couldn't agree with you anymore! I loved it so much i saw it a 2nd time on 3D after i heard good 3d word of mouth.Quote from: guest on 08/03/2012, 12:10 PMPrometheus. I was hoping for greatness and it let me down. It's still a pretty decent flick - AWESOME set design and sound effects. I rarely see movies in the theater so was expecting something epic. Personally, I could have waited for this one to come out on DVD.IMO Prometheus was a truly, truly epic film, about as epic as epic gets.
Peeps going in expecting another film in the Aliens series were perhaps disappointed as isn't that kind of film, there wasn't lots of running in tunnels whilst being chased by Aliens.
It was better, it was more than that, it had a very, very deep plot and not just guns, face huggers and acid blood.
I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and Loved Alien and Aliens (the others Alien films were shite) but IMO Prometheus is a better film.
Edit: Happy Console Gamer on Prometheus
