Have no idea what you just said...

Anyways, I for one got a huge kick out of watching this. Yes it could've used some editing to cut the length down, but i applaud them for all the great locations/backgrounds. Seeing them film near the baseball stadium, over the bridge, the dark parkways...great stuff. And on top of all this, props for having the guts to film this stuff in public too! I'd be friggin' embarrassed to pull that shit on the street! Too bad no Blaze  #-o

was a huge DDragon fan and still am but after one of the game review sites trashed the hell out of it, it made me change my mind.
In the end i rather take the opinions of my fellow turbob fans...then a "game critique". So thanks for the mini reviews,  Will give it a try  O:)
Oh, one question, did you guys feel like the gameplay is abit on the slow side? The move pretty slow seems like in the videos...

On Expendables 2 which I saw on the opening weekend, I thought it was an improvement on the first one, but that it could've been a whole lot better. It's too bad they didn't get a better action director given the all star cast that was put together. This is what I wrote about it in my facebook account:

EDIT: Thought I'd mention a rental of Jean Claude Van Damme's new movie, "6 Bullets" and that I'd recommend it! Not bad, just don't EVER rent his last Universal Soldier movie, that wasn't even worth the dollar I spent on it!

A thought: You know how we have a "What are you watching on youtube?" ongoing thread? Would anyone besides myself care for a more general "Movie Picks" thread to post about the latest movie you saw, enjoyed and would recommend ? Worth it or no ?
I'd be down with that thread...i'm more a movie (theater, dvd, blu's) watcher then YouTube watcher anyways (gasp!)

And Wolf, good review on Ex2, I didn't mind the director so much...but I found the final fight against JCVD could'e been longer. Like after they fell down to the bottom floor to fight, Van Damme was perfectly fine for the 2nd round then...BAM, it's over cause JC brought a knife to a chain fight  ](*,). It had potential to be a huge brawlfest and it wasn't like the running time was too long or anything, dunno why they cut it so short. Also...casting wise, i wish they asked Michelle Yeoh  =P~ who still looks GREAT to play the female part instead of whats her name...

And finally, i'm gonna admit i'm a big JCVD nut so i'm totaly biased but, i was super happy to see the guy back on the big screen as lately he's really worked on his acting. the film JCVD is a classic example, but I also recommend Until Death which came out 2007. You can see in in interviews, he's really matured and has turned over a new leaf from his druggy days...

If you get item not as described, and the auction's ship from location is not valid (ie Ships from USA when seller is not in USA) often you can get refund without shipping back.  I had a case I bought a laptop battery from a seller listed in Texas. The tracking # I got a few days later were weird and not in USPS, FedEx, or UPS format. I think it was Chinese post.  I got the battery 3 weeks later and it doesn't fit at all, even though the description stated fits laptop xxxx and replaces battery xxxx that matches mine.  Contacted seller, they claimed I was wrong about my laptop (how can I be wrong? It's printed on my laptop and battery) and stated no refund, exchange only.

Filed claim, eBay said send it back, I pointed to them the seller's listed in Texas but the return address is not Texas. eBay said keep the battery and sent me full refund.
Funny ass thing that happened...when they sent me the paypal refund, in the msg line they actually requested that i pay them back if/when the batteries show up on my doorstep. SCREW YOU!!! I'm gonna take your batteries for wasting my damn time, monday is week 8 since order was shipped...they probably fell off the cheapass shipping boat sailing across the Pacific

Just a little update,

REFUND RECEIVED!!! faster then I thought too.

Thanks for all the input gang, i knew I'd get the right answer here concerning Ebay/Paypal

Quote from: guest on 09/12/2012, 03:44 PMIn the future, stay right on top of the dates. If a seller tells you shipping could take up to five weeks, send then another email and open your ebay dispute right at the end of the fifth week, not week 7. Good luck
Thanks Vest, will do!

Refund officially requested although it might sound a little too courteous for how pissed i am:

Hello,

I appreciate the gesture of a resend, but if you can understand the inconvenience of not having a working cellphone, I cannot wait another 3-5 weeks for your batteries. I've already ordered a legitimate battery from a local phone store which will arrive in 3 business days. I think it would be much easier for both parties if you just sent a refund for me and there will be no hard feelings for the time wasted.

Thanks for understanding.

Sweet, thanks for the quick replies guys.

Here's the link of the same item, so it's not the actual auction i won, but should be same for the fine print.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/280894960141?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

JKM, that's where i got duped, i clearly did not want to deal with asian seller and the stupid auction says shipping from Jersey... :x
And yes...they got some hoshposh bogus shipping status # they sent me. But all it shows is that they officially sent it out on July 29th...probably just to cover their own asses. But if you guys say i've got a good chance getting $ back from Paypal, i guess i'll go for it. Like Fifty says, i don't need it no more....i should get my cash back for all this friggin inconvenience...

I'm pretty sure we got a community here that's pretty experienced when it comes to the yays/nays of Ebay and it's moneygrabbing partner Paypal

The situation is i needed a phone battery cause i noticed mine not holding a charge anymore 2 months ago, so i went on Ebay and bought a lot that had 3 batteries + charger. All for $15 shipped (yah, quality can't be great but hey, they can't ALL be lemons), they sent it out on July 29th...guess what, i don't have it yet. I inquired about this to the seller during week 4 of the shipping which is already very patient on my part. They said it could take 3-5 weeks, week 7 rolls along and still nothing. I got fed up and asked for my refund, they replied with stupid answer like go check if it's sitting at your post office. I said fuck that, i want my refund and reported a claim to Paypal 1 day before it would've been out of their "payment protection"  time period. Today seller replied with a "would i be interested in them resending the item at no extra charge?" Thing is, i already went online last night and bought a legit battery from The Source (think Radio Shack) for $28. What do i need the jobber batteries for now?

So question is, should i settle for the resend, or be adamant for the refund and risk it going to Paypal Disputes center and have Paypal side with the "Powerseller" and lose it altogether?

Input is greatly appreciated, thnx guys.

Lockout i found was a neat little action flick, good seeing Pearce in a starring role again.
The Thing...can't believe i've NEVER seen this horror gem until last night, now i know why it's a classic  =D>
The Thing was awesome!  If you have never seen the 2011 prequel, you should rent it NOW!  Its basically everything that takes place at the Norwegian camp and leaves off right at the start of the 1982 film!

I think the commentary track with Arnold on Conan the Barbarian is the same track he recorded with the director that appeared in the standard DVD release.  Its worth a listen to.  Arnold sounds like he is high on drugs on the commentary and can barely remember making the film.  He says insightful stuff like....   "Here is where I swing the sword!"   "Oh yeah, now I swing the sword" and "Now I swing the sword"  Very insightful stuff!  They should have used it as an anti-drug message for school kids!
The Thing is indeed an awesome movie...i just wished i saw it when i was a kid in the 80's so that it would scare the living SHIT out of me!
(no rental shops in Vancouver anymore) But yes, i did see The Thing (2011) which i thought was a remake...but now that i think of it, i was wondering why the hell all the people in that camp were not speaking english! Makes sense now, and yes the dog running away leads into the 1982 film. Still not as good as the Carpenter one.

Yah, it's the same audio track from the DVD Special Edition, but hell, can't go wrong with HD...i got a feeling of what to expect from Ahnold commentary, i sat through his T3 commentary hahaha!

Wow, looks like NP not getting much love here...but i do admit i haven't read it much after they started concentrating on the SNES because i ended up buyin a Genny for my 16bit era.

Aside from that, when the NES was my main system...I felt like it was Christmas everytime the issue showed up at my doorstep  the early issues i read so damn much the staples couldn't even hold the magazine together! So in other words, i got nothing but good things to say for something that was responsible for so much enjoyment in my childhood days cause i read those suckers from cover to cover. My favourite article/section was probably the Top 30, it was fun seeing games move up and down the chart and seeing how your favourite game fared on the chart. I was so happy when my friends were dissing me for buying an unrecognized game in The Guardian Legend, few weeks later I showed them TGL making it into the Top 5! SUCK IT!  So ya it also helped me study up on what was a safe bet for my next game purchase. I considered myself quite a gamer back then, so I'd always end up buying stuff from the Pro's Pick chart  8) If u guys remember there was the Player's Picks, Pro's Picks, and Seller's Picks (dunno who was giving input for that chart tho...).

I heard the stipulations for Aircare (what it's called in Canada) is super tough as the car gets older. Is this the reason you no longer own the 'Lude?  Because the last few years here, right hand drive cars have been very very popular here, cause they're arriving on our docks in amazing condition/low kms and at very good prices! Skylines being the must common one, man the R34s are beautiful...
If I ever buy another car in Japan, I'm going straight to the used market again, for sure. Besides, the majority of new car designs here are boring family wagons or tiny fuel-efficient shopping carts with engines. I'll take a '90s sports car over that boring crap any day.
Thanks for the full details Kaze! Man...that really bites though, $1000 every 2 years is steep. Our "aircare" checks are $90 Cdn for 2 years (vehicles '92 and newer). But i TOTALLY agree with you in terms of the new car styles common in cramped cities like Tokyo. I get the same feeling when i visit my family in Hong Kong and see the new cars there, boring...but at least it's not too hard to hold on to older cars there, i still see quite a few "ricers". The current trend here these last 2 years, i've been seeing way more imports of cargo/transport vans like Mitsubishi Delicas...I think the insurance companies here have been making it too $$$ to bring in the performance vehicles...

Anyways, here's my ride, nothing fancy. Original owner '94 Accord, and yes, i've changed the lips and bumpers a few times  ](*,) The last pic is still not the latest, i've replaced the lower signals with clears instead of the amber  8)

Oh and Proffessor, you are dead on about the effect Ebay had on comics as a "collectible". What we thought was rare, ain't so much anymore....i think it had an even worse effect on sporting cards! What u thought was a rare rookie card, some seller would be selling it in a friggin 4pak lot on Ebay!?

Quote from: T2KFreeker on 08/17/2012, 04:44 PMBig collections? I have 15 Long Boxes and comics loose stacked on top of them! It's too much, but I just can't let them go!  [-(
We are creatures of nostalgia, OF COURSE we can't let'em go T2k! hahaha. "Props" on the collection...i only got half of your's i think. Mind you, i still buy a few here and there when i attend conventions for fun.

Wow...after all this talk about Macross games, i'm suprised nobody mentioned Robotech: BattleCry for ps2, gc, xbox?!
I think it's the only one that's pretty good after graphics went 3D, and it had alot of depth too. There were real differences between fighting in Veritech mode vs. Battleroid mode, and there were some pretty cool mission objectives (although some where pissing tedious...).

I guess if you guys are loyal to the japanese anime and detest the US version Robotech, i can understand...

So in the end Prof...are you selling? hahah

Don't take it personal. The reason I know that stuff is garbage is because I have all the same stuff!

I don't have nostalgia for this period though. This was when guys in suits with MBAs would come into my local shop and buy five copies of everything because they thought they would be able to sell each book for hundreds in the future. The same assholes that got burned on CDOs in 2009. They turned what I like into...basically what eBay has done for the TG16.
Yep, i remembered those days...when the hot #1s would be out that week, there were always the "keeners" who picked up an extra 2 or 3 or 4 copies of said issue. This was maybe 3-5 years AFTER i got into collecting so knew what these guys were thinking...but man, so glad i didn't have the budget to pull that crap!

Oh and Quid, u forgot to complete the set of Issue #1 overruns with the Jim Lee X-Men#1s....now this one i did get suckered into buying all 5 covers...the art was just amazing!
And don't feel bad at all, we all have nice big collections like this sitting somewhere in our house...and sadly i feel i can't part with them either  ](*,)

Hopefully the Expendables 2 gets that bad taste out of my mouth this weekend!
It will Clash! JCVD guarantees it with a "splits kick" seal of approval!  8)

Quote from: guest on 08/03/2012, 12:10 PMPrometheus.  I was hoping for greatness and it let me down. :(  It's still a pretty decent flick - AWESOME set design and sound effects.  I rarely see movies in the theater so was expecting something epic.  Personally, I could have waited for this one to come out on DVD.
IMO Prometheus was a truly, truly epic film, about as epic as epic gets.
Peeps going in expecting another film in the Aliens series were perhaps disappointed as isn't that kind of film, there wasn't lots of running in tunnels whilst being chased by Aliens.
It was better, it was more than that, it had a very, very deep plot and not just guns, face huggers and acid blood.

I'm a huge Sci-Fi fan and Loved Alien and Aliens (the others Alien films were shite) but IMO Prometheus is a better film.

Edit: Happy Console Gamer on Prometheus
I couldn't agree with you anymore! I loved it so much i saw it a 2nd time on 3D after i heard good 3d word of mouth.
Last movie saw DKRises....but i am HELLA psyched up this weekend for some mindless violence and action in EXPENDABLES 2, FUCK YA!
A collection of action heroes this large was unheard of before Expendables 1, thanks to Sly and his hard work (and of course big profits), there's an awesome sequel! Here's a few fun snapshots i found
