A friend of mine is selling off her pencilboard collection and among them is a set of nine officially licensed pencilboards of the male characters in Angelique Special 2 for the PC-FX. She's asking $80 for the lot, plus shipping from California. I thought I would bring this sale to the attention of the community here since they are licensed PC-FX merchandise. I'm not sure, but I think they were originally send-away offers that you claimed when you bought the game. If anyone has more information, set me straight!  :)

You can email her at absinthe.fairy {at} gmail.com.

And if you're interested in seeing what other pencilboards she is selling, here's the full list.

Almost, but not quite. As capable as The GIMP is, it will never replace Photoshop until it supports CMYK and other non-RGB/greyscale colorspaces and cleans up the interface substantially.

Don't get me wrong, I use The GIMP at home (and Photoshop at work), but I wouldn't consider them in the same league just yet.

Quote from: "akamichi"Has it been confirmed that the VC games are also region locked?  I haven't seen anything that says either way.  Then again, the fact that there are different games available in different territories probably means that it is.

How would Nintendo enforce regions anyway?  I suppose it could be like iTunes where you need a CC or point card, etc from the specific country to buy.  If that's the case, then it'll probably be easy to buy a point card from an import dealer.

Hopefully people will be able to buy from any region w/o needing some kind of modchip/hardware mod.
I don't think it would be by CC unless Nintendo requires a CC on file to even browse the VC "store". If they don't require that, then it would be either a flag on the hardware or based on an IP trace (which would be trivial to get around and therefore useless).

Quote from: "grahf"I know this isnt really related but..
The reasons you stated Odonadon, are why i find myself really starting to enjoy shooters this last year or so. I just dont have time anymore to play super time consuming games, but i can have a 30 minute blast on a shooter and still have fun. AND feel like i accomplished something.
Exactly. My favorite way to unwind after a long day is to plug in a shooter on OMGHARD mode and see how long I can last. (yeah, that's relaxing to me   )

Off-Topic / Gas prices suck!

I'll never see sub-$3.00/gallon prices again. Up in my neck of the woods it's currently $3.30 for cheap-o. It peaked out at $3.50 about a month ago. An hour north or south from here the gas is 30 cents cheaper. >< stupid monopoly in my county.

I'm into collecting the obscure and forgotten systems, and usually just the games I actually am going to play. Though I might try to complete the NGPC software library, since there are so few titles for it. I'm also trying to collect unique official Dreamcast equipment - DreamPoint controllers and memory cards, unique versions of the console, etc.

My wife ran into an interesting bug on the GBC version of DQ3: in the game, you sometimes get to play on a Parchisi (sp) board for bonus items, etc. Kind of a bonus level/minigame. Anyhow, she fought a monster on one tile, and after the monster was over, it gave her so much XP that her character was leveling up for 10 minutes straight. She went from lvl 10 to lvl 48 on that one battle!

Something I'd like to point out that hasn't been mentioned yet is that SQ 1, 2, and 3 are all related, story-wise, as are DQ 4, 5 and 6.

I don't read Digg, but as far as Slashdot goes, you can always increase the post filter to, say 4-nested - that weeds out most of the crap and organizes the display.

I picked up mine from a private-party sell (i.e. not ebay) for around $30, iirc. But it was "well loved" and had some damage, though it plays just fine.
