Quote from: guest on 09/28/2016, 04:58 AMI play Rifts, but I drop D&D into it, so

basically, I am playing Palladium Fantasy in Rifts, using D&D source material.

Get on my level, fuckups.
I first got introduced to tabletop RPGs with rifts when i was in middle school. I only played a handful of times, but i vividly remember amazing art in the books.

I then went on to play D&D in highschool. A friend of mine lived next door to a 40 something year old D&D nut. We would go to his house on weekends and play all night. It was usually myself,my twin brother, 2-3 friends, and the neighbors son. He moved about a year into are D&D sessions, and i tried playing with the guy who introduced me to rifts years ago. His campaign was horrid though. Him and his g/f were baby dragons, and it became a bunch of weeb bullshit. I haven't played since

When i played gate of thunder on my wii. I didn't really experience the turbo as a kid, but i knew when i played GOT that i missed out on something special.

Quote from: guest on 09/28/2016, 04:35 AMMy sweet Everdrive.
I'm thinking I may opt for an ever drive so I can also check out some pce games without having to buy them individually.
Half the games you want to play cost > 3 everdrives, so, yeah, buy one.

Been playing KOF XIV for the past few weeks. Really happy with it, and haven't touched SFV since it came out. Also picked up Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse this week, and started that as well. They say its better than SMT IV, not sure how thats possible, but i will find out soon

I should be writing an article about HE soon for a friends website. I will post a link to it soon hopefully. The demo is a lot of fun. I was lucky enough to score one at gameon expo a few weeks ago

Sounds like a fuckin scrub to me. Anyway, i rather enjoy the game. This is coming from someone who doesn't play mobile games at all. I am a pokemon fan though, and i used to play the handheld games at a competitive level. Besides just enjoying catching and gym battles, i really enjoy the fact that my fiance enjoys this game. She doesn't really play to many games, so its nice to have a game we both play and enjoy. Let the haters hate all they want, no one is forcing them to play

I don't have audio right now, but this thing is pretty neat. The widescreen is a bit lame, but the effort he put into making this is great. I actually like the bright yellow color as well. Makes a bold statement. PCE for life!!!!

I really enjoy this game. Haven't played it in awhile, now i want to play it right now

Thanks for posting. Interesting read. Cool that Ireland wrote the review for Ys III

I was lucky enough to get a Henshin Engine demo. Played it a bit before i had to leave town for a few days. Going to play it again when i get back, and write up some stuff on it

caught up with game of thrones. The show is just too good. Have 1 more ep. of daredevil season 2 to watch. Will start watching stranger things soon

It took me about a year or two to finally get a PVM. I was lucky and got a sony PVM 20m2mdu for $50. I just recently got a JVC DT-1900 PVM as well. Its a flat screen model, and like Zeta said, it has an issue with scrolling. The top left of the screen does this weird rolling effect. Also my model only has the RGB/component card slot on the back, so i can't do Composite or S-video currently. But it comes in handy when i want to play vertical games, and i usually have it set up in TATE mode.

Its def hard to go back after RGB. It just looks way to clean. PVMs are getting harder to find. So i would say just always keep a look out, and network with people and let them know you are looking as well. Thats how i found mine.

Awesome episode. When i was a child I really didn't get anything a launch day, but either a few months, later. I think the first console i got on my own at launch was the Wii. Camped out at target for about 10 hours to get it.

Looks like Nintendo sent out a C&D, so people need to get on this soon. I downloaded it, but haven't had a chance to play it yet

Still playing Street Fighter V. Trying to learn Balrog as he is my main in ST and SFIV. Hes so different in SFV though, and as it stands hes not very good. But he can do a ton of damage if he has Vtrigger and 2 stocks of meter.Still fun, just frustrating to learn him.

Great video. Glad to see your viewer ship has gone up. Well deserved

^LMAO.
I do enjoy Download. Think bithead over hyped it just a tad, but his videos are great.

My small but awesome haul from gameon expo. I won the Dodonpachi, and The game paradise high score tournaments, which awarded me the 2 great sandblasted glass cups. Best part of gameon was meeting Sarumaru and others behind the upcoming new PC Engine game "Henshin Engine". I was even lucky enough to get a copy of the demo. The game is really great, and is a great homage to the PCE/turbo graphics. Only spent $5 on all this (the PCE pins were $5)

Quote from: geise on 06/21/2016, 02:53 PMThose MAME hsl and gsl shaders are nice, but they'll never make it look like a crt.  In the long run I think GroovyMame is the way to go.  A hassle to set up at first with CRT_Emudriver over retropi but better results if using a real monitor.  If you already have an older ATI and win7 or later, you are already good to go.  I even got GroovyMame working with Win10 and running to my pvm with CRT_Emudriver.
A buddy of mine has a PC with a arcadeVGA 3000 card. No ATI card, but i could get one on ebay for the cheap. I may have to hit you up if i get lost. Hes going to let me test the PC and see if i can get the setup working correctly

Tired of using my pandora 3 and want a better solution. Right now i currently use a supergun (Vega jr.) with two PVMs, one being TATE (RGB) and one normal (S-video). I'm not really familiar with MAME, or Raspberry Pi, and I'm not sure what would be the better solution.

As for games, i intend to play CPS 1,2,3 stuff, some NEO stuff, and some shmups. I also want to possibly stream the content in the future. What do you guys feel will be a better setup to use. All advice is appreciated

Quote from: Sarumaru on 06/14/2016, 12:07 PMI went to Sony's live showing event at a theater here locally. It was just a bunch of VR crap, more zombie games and FPS garbage. They also talked about rebooting the Crash series, like anyone gives a crap. The only thing that excited me even slightly was that they showed the new KOF in the previews. other than that, I didn't care for most of it.
Pretty much agree. So sick of 3rd person cienmatic set piece types of games. Uncharted was fun for awhile, but i never even completed 3, that new run down game is just mix of uncharted and last of us. Not much gameplay mechanics shown for any of the games except for horizon.

anyone here ever watch violence jack? Im curious because the new Suda51 has inspirations from violence jack, so i think i will look into watching it

Nintendo had the right approach years ago with there direct video press conference. The live stage shit is old and dated, and appeals more to investors and stock holders than people who actually play games

So after completing Castlevania COTM, i decided to play HOD again. Its been about 10 years since i last beat it. I just beat it last night, and i did enjoy it, but not as well as i remember, and it was way to easy. The music is good, but the sound quality is not. I still prefer it over COTM, and i think that has to do with the fact that both games are metroidvania style, but COTM doesn't have all the elements of a metroidvania castlevania title. Its missing the shops, dashing, downward kick jump ect. Not sure if i will play Aria next, or take a little break

Quote from: munchiaz on 06/06/2016, 04:39 AMBeen playing Castlevania: Circle of the moon for GBA. Its one I've never beaten. I always seem to lose interest in it, but this time I'm determined to finally beat it. I have to say that Harmony and Aria are much better Castlevania games, but this one is still good.
Harmony is my favourite to play but it and aria have terrible music. It hurts my ears. Circle of the moon sounds better.
From what i remember, i can agree with that.
Harmony had big empty rooms. It was like 'We've got this new castlevania game but didn't add any assets. Let's just rush it out the door".

I think Aria is the best playing of the GBA ones followed by Circle of the Moon.
After playing Circle, i may go back and replay harmony and Aria. its been such a long time since i've played them. I just remember having more fun with Harmony and Aria

Quote from: guest on 06/01/2016, 02:46 PMI miss reading Saga. It was good and I started buying from about issue 12-18or20ish. Great series
I need to get back into reading Saga. I think i left off on issue 12. Such a good series indeed
It's up to 35?36?

They just went on hiatus. There is a hardbound TPB with issues 1-18 that's decently priced and good big book quality.  Probably vol 2 will be out soon for the delux big book edition.
I have the first trade with issues 1-6, ill have to get the other ones
