At least the forums are still up.

I love Vigilante.  Can you think of any other game that has black skinheads?

Quote from: guest on 01/15/2013, 11:11 AMThey were paid by Sega to fuck it all up so the Genesis one looked better! YEAH
I wouldn't be surprised.  If the PCE version was done right it would have curb-stomped the Genny version.

Hell yeah.  A truly amazing game for the Famicom.

Agreed.  Hori sticks are all I use for my 8/16/32 bit games.

It's a good game, worth a look.  Probably the best version of 'Saint Dragon' you can find.

Quote from: fragmare on 05/21/2011, 03:40 PMAs far as the actual game itself, it's... ehhh... mediocre or slightly above mediocre.
When I was a kid I saw 'Splatterhouse' in the same light as 'Altered Beast'.  It was a crappy game that showcased the technical capabilities of the system.
Splatterhouse was a very impressive game when it came out, as was Altered Beast.

Quote from: soop on 05/06/2011, 11:20 AMI loved the spectrum version of Dynasty Warriors, but from the screenshots on pcengine.co.uk, the sprites are  pretty small.  How does it play?  and how much does it usually go for?
It plays well, IMO.  The only things that disappoint is there is no redbook audio during gameplay(just chiptunes) and the super moves were cut out.  Still a good game, though.  I payed $70 for my copy.

Quote from: exodus on 10/09/2010, 09:18 PMMine's not modded or anything, but I have had it for about 8 years, and it became my primary system pretty quickly, since I rarely play U.S. hucards these days.

nothing too exciting about it other than the fact that I bought one in Japan in 2002, took it back to my hotel, and found that they'd given me the wrong adapter. I'd purchased a cheap-ish one, and it was yellowed and smelled of smoke - I took it back to the store and pointed out that the adapter was wrong. they checked it out, looked for a replacement, couldn't find one, called a manager, hemmed and hawed, and then decided I was right, and they gave me this shiny new white one instead. didn't smell of smoke at all! No extra charge, even though it should've cost 3,000 yen more.

Back when Japanese customer service was good, even for foreigners! Plus I was in Osaka, which helped...
That was awesome.

Couldn't that be a controller port?  That seems like a ghey position for an RGB port.

One thing I learned is that if you throw your internet bills in the trash, ebay will disappear.

Maybe you should try this.

Quote from: JoshTurboTrollX-16 on 05/24/2010, 05:21 PMyeppers,  everything I've tried it on works flawlessly.

Although, I have not tried any of the 4MB Jap cart/Disc's like KOF 95 or some of the Capcom games that require them.  I'm guessing tho, that this should still play them.
All the 1/4MB games work with the PAR.  KOF 95 won't work with the PAR since it requires it's own ROM cart in order to function.

And Hell Yeah.. buy a Saturn.

I'd love to see a Neo Geo tribute.  On top of what everybody has suggested I'd like to see Garou: MOTW in there. 8)

I'd make a movie out of 'Last Alert' for obvious reasons.  Low budget, Dolph Lundgren would be down for it.  Great action film.

I love pain and punishment, therefore the HuCard version is best.

I'd be afraid to purchase that sucker.  Might come with some kind of disease.

It's hard to tell how big it is.  One thing I do know is there is a lot of interest/curiosity out there.
I visit alot of different videogame/computer related forums and there is always at
least one thread about the NEC systems.

Now that would have been awesome.  I love the Arcade's soundtrack, the PCE version is a little 'meh'.

Quote from: Tom on 08/22/2009, 02:15 PMOn a side note, this game could have been easily hacked to run on an Arcade Card setup and change the audio routine to play CD tracks.

with the same maps and all.  That would be great.  8)
