Once again, picked up a not-quite-game for collection purposes: US System Card 2.0.

Still looking for Magical Chase & manual for Tonma! :]

Quote from: King_Vidiot on 01/07/2013, 04:27 PMI have an american Turbo Duo and I just picked up a Sony PVM monitor.  What is my best a/v option with this set up?  Is it s-video mod or rgb mod?  Are there any non-modding options?  Is s-video or RGB better/more reliable when it comes to the Turbo Duo? I've read things about all the RGB mods showing jail bars?

Does anyone else use a Duo with a PVM monitor?
Is this kid_vidiot from AA? If so, there's a guy in the valley who's done many an AV & region mod for me. PM me & I'll give you his e-mail.

Small 3-ring binder with sleeves for business cards. I think each sleeve holds 6 cards, if I recall correctly.

Added powered speakers, ran all speaker wires inside the monitor case, skinned the case with used Centipede sideart (thanks to Fly from the KLOV forum!), added stereo RCA audio input jacks to the back panel, & am gaming! Still working on getting the RGB to work.

I tried out composite input with my SMS today. The banding that showed with S-Video wasn't there with composite. Good deal. I'll soon have the bits needed to try out RGB. Can't wait!

Thanks,
-Jason

PS--here's a fun thread on the Sony PVM: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?238415-CRT-Fetish-Thread
#57
Howdy again-

Thanks for all of the helpful input. I picked up this 20" Sony PVM-20N2U yesterday for $40: http://losangeles.cr...3486377467.html

For sound, I'm going to use a pair of powered PC stereo speakers & attach them to the sides of the case (assuming the tube's case is shielded well enough that the speakers don't distort the picture--if so, I'll move them farther away).

I am finding one small issue, however.

I've tried my S-Video modded 2600 & S-Video modded SMS & 2 different S-Video cables & both of the Y/C (S-Video) inputs & they look swell except for one issue that persists always. I believe that it's called "ghosting." When there are very light pixels to the left of dark (but not black) pixels, then the white pixels cast a bit of a shadow towards the right. Attached pics show 2600 Pitfall. [Darn, I get an error when trying to upload a picture: "Upload folder is full"? I hope that my text description is adequate!]

Any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I just ordered some RCA female-to BNC male gold-plated adapters & will try composite & RGB next. (My SMS has both composite & S-Video out, for an easy back-to-back comparison).

Thanks,
-Jason

General Gaming / Tube TV recommendation?
12/30/2012, 10:50 PM
Howdy-

I'm looking to pick up a used tube TV, probably 21" in size (not too small but not too heavy to lug upstairs & put in a small bedroom). It needs to have an S-video input, as pretty much all of my consoles are modded for S-video. Stereo inputs & speakers are also required.

Is there any recommendation or standard for a good gaming TV to fit my needs? (For 2600, A8, INTV, TG Duo, NES, SNES, N64, SMS, Gen, Saturn, DC, 3DO, PS1, & PS2).

Thanks,
-Jason

PS--I'm in Los Angeles, in case anybody local has one for sale/trade.
#59
I just learned of Seymor Onion's awesome sleeve reproductions. I can't compete with his great product & price. If anybody wants more of my used sleeves, let's go for $0.50 each. I have a couple dozen sleeves, many with some yellowing. Have at 'em!

Thanks,
-Jason
#60
Sold half a dozen sleeves to glazball. Smooth transaction--thanks!

I still have a few dozen sleeves remaining, if somebody needs 'em! Somewhere in the ballpark of $0.75 per sleeve, depending on quantity.

Thanks,

Not a game, but technically a US TG16 card release: I picked up a Super System Card 3.0 today.

Still looking for:

What's a fair price for a complete US release Super System card?

On a cheaper note, I've got dozens of Hucard sleeves. What's the going rate for those, & who wants some?

Thanks,

I had these items stored in a large storage tub. I estimated the necessary box size at 24"x24"x24", which was a bit big (not by much, but enough to blow up the shipping).

Last night, I packed everything up & weighed/measured the package.

I've canceled the auction (b/c I can't change shipping info after receiving bids) & relisted it with the correct shipping info: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110956973579

More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microvision

The first rev used 2 9V batteries & they could be mis-inserted & heat up & explode! The rev that I'm selling takes 1 9V battery & has room for a spare in the compartment next to it. When they revved the electronics, they kept the same plastic parts.

Thanks,
-Jason

I'm selling a working Microvision & 3 games: Blockbuster, Phaser Strike, & Pinball.

It's the first handheld console to use interchangeable cartridges, released by Milton Bradley, and it was designed by Jay Smith, who later designed the Vectrex.

Hi FQ-

Thanks. I've found a $40 SB card locally on Craigslist, but I just can't find the time to drive a bit to meet the fellow. If I end up not meeting up with him, I'll get in touch w/ you.

As far as trades go, I have no TG dupes at the moment, except for a handful of spare common cases, many with beat-up spine labels.

Thanks,
-Jason

Thanks for all of the posts & PMs. I've received many & am working my way through them & will attempt to get to all of them in a timely manner.

Most of the notes included requests for asking prices, rather than offers, so I've updated the top post to include my asking prices, which are based mostly on past sale prices & completed eBay auctions.

Thanks,
-Jason

[edit 6/15/12: Thanks for all of the many responses--most of you requested asking prices rather than making offers, so I've updated this post to show my asking prices, based mostly on past sale prices & completed eBay auctions.]

Howdy-

I came across an amazing Craigslist Vectrex package the other day & am reselling many of the items that I bought. I kept some items for myself & swapped some nicer-condition items for those in my collection.

The seller was a well-to-do, educated, clean gentleman who was the original owner of all of these items. He bought them new in 1983/1984, kept most of the receipts (Toys R Us, Covina, CA), kept everything stored clean & safe & dry, & took immaculate care of these items. A man after my own heart... :]

I wanted to put these items up on the forums & boards before they go to eBay. Please make offers--my asking prices are shown below. I have good ideas of the values based on past sales & eBay sales. I'm probably more interested in PayPal than trades, but there's no harm in making trade offers. Here's a multi-tab Google Docs spreadsheet of my current collection. If you have something that I don't, let me know, & maybe we can work out a trade.

BlueBMW sent out a cap kit promptly & packed well. A very good deal, thanks! It will be quite a while until I get around to installing it (especially since my TD is working fine now--this is a preventative measure, not a repair effort), but I'm confident that everything is well in order with this transaction.

Thanks, BlueBMW!
