I think Cyber Core might take me a little while to complete... Those little blue things on level 8 are wiping me out...

I'm not sure, it's certainly used quite a lot in the UK when some tune just won't leave your head.  Like the 1st level music from Cyber Core....

ARGHHHH GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!

No, wait.  Stay...stay forever.

Ha, yeah that's one of the things I thought of...who needs yet *another* collector coming along bumping the prices up.  But like I said if I play something and really like it, regardless of its status then I may look to pick it up.  Think about the SEGA Saturn and the PAL games that are hugely expensive, most of those I wouldn't p1ss on if they were on fire let alone play them :)

The Everdrive just seems logical to me, I've got a few "Top X" lists from around the internets so I'll just have a sit down and a blast through.

Cheers, will check out those games.

I'm almost finished with Cyber Core. I *think* I got to the end game boss, big red alien head dude at the end of level 7?  I've got serious earworm with this game!

My AV cable turned up for my new PC Engine Core Grafx (as I said in my intro post I've never played a PCE) and the console worked fine *wipes sweat from brow*.  So I started playing PC Genjin...and kept playing and kept playing and loved it.  I completed it over a few sittings, I just kept coming back to it.  I love the way once you get the hang of "bonking" in the air you can just bounce across a level!

The only frustrating thing for me was the end of game boss and the sub end of game boss, I just could not hit them without taking damage.  It was a war of attrition in the end.

I only managed to get a multi-bonk that got over 10 hits once, one of those red dinosaurs against a wall.

The graphics did surprise me tbh, I didn't think this little thing could kick out such colourful sprites and backgrounds.

Anyway, skip to the score 10/10 :)

Hi everyone,

I'm a total noob with the PCE/TG16, I've known about it for over 25 years but never played one or even seen one in (real?) life!  I decided to take a look at buying one and after reading a good few buying guides (wow, lots of variations in the console..) I opted for a PC Engine Core Grafx.  I got it from a guy in Japan who has quite a lot of stock of various things (I may go back and buy a Super Famicom) and shipping was flawless.

Now I've yet to actually play it, it arrived quicker than my AV cable from retrogamecables (which I think arrives today or tomorrow) so I'm like a kid in a sweetshop at the moment, I really do have that "new console" buzz even though it's 25 years old!  I'm a Speccy/NES/Master System-onwards era gamer (that's when I got into playing games) so I've got an appreciation of gaming over the last 30 years.

I'll be upfront and say I'm not really intending to start collecting for it, but rather to buy an Everdrive.  I'd rather play the games that the console has to offer rather than try and start collecting.  If there's some games I like I'll look to pick them up. As I'm totally new to the PCE (I've read a few Top 10/20 games lists) I feel I can approach the console fresh, play the games and see which I like.

So my next post will hopefully be after I've played the little fella!

I'm usually skulking over at the segasaturn.co.uk forums.
