Off-Topic / Re: Risingstuff.com

I have placed a few orders with Risingstuff.com and must say they are great to deal with.  if you ever have doubts of ordering from them do you think I would have ordered seven consoles from them? and some games?  I think not I was worried at first as probably most people are but my order got to me quicker then expected and then I ordered more!! their prices out beat alot but remember they have to make a profit too. This is the only way so they can keep bringing us great deals and lots of stuff that we would have paid more for elsewhere. if it was to be any cheaper we would have to live in japan ourselves so count your blessings, their prices compaired to play-asia even are excellent. this is one reason why if I am going to spend money I'm gonna go to Risingstuff.com

plus you can actually communicate and get responses pretty darn quick which is great.

#7
i got a console unit only in good shape if your interested
#8
well mine cost me 134 complete off ebay, which wasnt bad I took the 3 month shipping from japan to make it cheaper. which I would probably do a few more times in the near future too cause i asked 180 for mine shipped and got it. so for me the 3 month wait wasnt nothing cause you aint gonna have much luck if anything trying to find one around here. but sometimes they do pop up on here.
#9
just got rid of mine last week, they are rare around here not many people that have them wanna give them up. but you never know someone might pop on with one.

Well I put a screw into what looked like it needed the screw there. blew the system out. and now system is 100% working
#13
the one that i was refering to was to Chop5's thread here https://www.pcengine-fx.com/forums/index.php?topic=4009.0
#14
hey there not sure what is the issue with my tg16 it wont play thats for sure. but possibly what was the issue with Chop5's tg16 seems to be along the lines of this one but when I opened it up, seemed the screws to the case where a bit worse for wear so took a bit of work.

Inside I opened it up and found the following and not sure if there is suppose to be a screw in the hole onto the board or not or if that is the way that it is suppose to be.

and is the only way to open it up further to remove the soder? looks that way just finally got into it so taking a break to ask this question.

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB PC-FX Games
06/06/2008, 06:03 PM
hey guys just doing a check to see if anyone has any they are currently willing to sell.  I only have 2 pc-fx games so chances are if you have something I probably want it.

Would like a lot of games to make it more worth while but if not its all good. Also im not going after the uber expensive games right now. so just the lower cost ones please.
#25
yup you get busted and then cut scenes daglore lol
#26
on level 4 I think level 5 is the shortest of them all so far.
#27
sweet, ya I just got another mini game speed attack which was fun I like those type of games.
#28
ok make that level  5 now
#29
yup I have been to that one already. Was fun. think im on level 6 of the maze lol not sure if its going down or up lol think its going down but fun
#30
well I fluked out 2x finally got through it not so hard now haha but I must say these hall ways through the level are very confusing at times. the next mini game is the puzzle wich was nice it was so easy. lol
#31
like i said im absolutly bad at these types of games when u have to match and expesually when its against someone else (cpu) then its that much worse haha. ya I will have to keep on trying and hope I fluke out and get the bigger matches and get ahead that way.
#32
im on the card matching one and seems I have played almost 2 hrs and lost everytime. lol
#33
ok this matching game sucks, I really am bad at them

nope this unit is not going anywhere, its smaller then I was expecting as well. hopefully i will not neglect my sega saturn and dreamcast now. yup I would definatly recomend a pc-fx to any gamer.  well if they are into import games ie. sega saturn and dreamcast mainly.
#35
yup I finally got the hang of it got through the 2 slots and so far just finished saving the dog. minigames are actually quite fun on it. so far enjoying the game but wondering how to get back to the main menu if possible or how or when its saved. some thing I guess comes with time but ya all and all I am definatly very pleased with the game.

Quote from: Oli_lar on 04/20/2008, 02:04 PMBox dimensions in CM:

39x20x31
is that the system box dimensions?
also thank you for adding that.
#46
Right on thanks nat this is great. if anyone has more to contribute please feel free to add it.
#47
Question #1
What are the dimensions of the nec pc-fx LxWxH?

Question #2
What are the dimensions of the box it comes in?
39cmx20cmx31cm. -Oli_lar

Question #3
What are the dimensions of accesories boxes.?

Question #4
What is the weight of the nec pc-fx boxed?

Question #5
What is the best setup for a NEC PC-FXGA
PC-FXGA DOS/V - for PC/AT - its a VERY long ISA board, so you will need a motherboard & case that will accomodate it, DOS and a cd-rom drive. The installation process is documented on Sabre's blog here: http://sabre470.wordpress.com/pc-fxga/

PC-98 PC-FXGA - C-BUS slot - its a double stacked board, but will go in any C-BUS slot. Requirements - a PC-98 (01 or 21)with at least: 486 (33mhz or above) CPU, a CD-ROM drive, Harddrive and DOS 3.3 with the CD-ROM extensions ver 2.2 or above or Win 95.

PC-98 PC-FXGA - Canbe - similar to the PC-98 version, but fits the canbe range of PC-98s as the c-bus slots differ, such as the PC-9821 Cr-13. Presumeably same specs as the regular PC-98.
-Oli_lar

Question #6
I have read 70% of the pc-fx post on the site. has a lot of people given up on the PC-FXGA? Nat people seem to have big plans with it but never follow up on their progress of programing just curious if everyone eventually looses interest with it.

Question #7
Who are the PC-FXGA owners on the board. that currently come around?
sabre470 is the only one I know of. -nat

Question #8
How many games are in the library for the PC-FX?

Close to 100, probably a little less

Question #9
I don't speak Japanese, or read Japanese how hard will it be for me to play the pc-fx?
Not hard. There are some games that don't require any Japanese knowledge to play and still get the full experience from. Still more of the JRPGs and digital comics are Japanese heavy but you can get by, no harder than playing JRPGs on the PC Engine. -nat

Question #10
How much is the pc-fx and games?
Too general a question, but the bottom line is you can find both cheap if you know where to look. I have sold loose PC-FX consoles for $40 on these forums. -nat

Question #11
Can the pc-fx Play backups?
Yes. -nat

Question #12
Are there any demos for the pc-fx?
Not that I'm aware of. -nat

Question #13
What accessories are there for the pc-fx and how much do they go for?

Go here: https://www.pcengine-fx.com/PC-FX/html/pc-fx_world_-_system_overview.html and scroll down to "Accessories" -nat

Question #14
My PC-FX is broken now what?
Call Nat.  -nat

Question #15
PC-FXGA info anywhere?
Google Japan. -nat

Question #16

Translation for any games or guides?
Many guides and FAQs can be found in the PC-FX section of this site:
https://www.pcengine-fx.com/PC-FX/

Many walkthroughs and guides for PC-FX games can also be found on GameFAQs listed under Playstation and Saturn as many PC-FX games were also released on those consoles.

As far as translation patches, there are currently a handful in the process of being developed and we should see some releases this year.
-nat

Question #17
I want to start a NEC PC-FX fansite up where can I get info?

The collective knowledge of PC-FX owners on this forum, as well as the wealth of information on the main site is a good place to start. Also Google Japan. -nat

Question #18

Can the NEC PC-FX Play in the usa/canada without converting power? unlike the uk setups.
Yes, no converter is needed to play the PC-FX on US power. -nat

Question #19
Can I play anything else in my pc-fx besides pc-fx games?
There is a certain type of video disc that all the 32-bitters (PC-FX, Saturn, Playstation) can play, I forget what the technical term is for these. I want to say CD-G but that's not it.

According to this site, the PC-FX can handle:

FX-CD, CD-DA, CD+G, CD+EG, Photo CD
-nat

Question #20
Where can I find more resources for the NEC PC-FX?
Google Japan. -nat

Question #21
Best places to buy PC-FX Games
This forum and the streets in Akihabara. eBay prices on a lot of PC-FX merchandise is grossly inflated. -nat

Question #22?
Can the PCFX play CD-R's with Picture files on it? JPEG or whatnot?  Like a picture viewer disk? (JoshTurboTrollX-16)
The BIOS has a built-in PhotoCD player, though it's slow and at a low resolution. -Mednafen

If you pm me your answer I will add them to the list of answers and put your name below the answers as well. I though since I went through 70% of the posts heres the most common questions and some I wanted answered.

I would like to thank nat for his great contribution to this.
