12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I am going to try to avoid ebay, and will make a last attempt to sell all of this in one shot. For whoever wants EVERYTHING I have left listed in the above thread, $150 plus shipping! This offer will only be available for one day, at which point I will probably be forced to list these as lots on ebay. I just need the cash at the moment. PM me if you want it!

Ok, now that the bulk of my collection has been sold (thanks everyone here that bought something!), this is what I have left, and I would rather NOT use ebay again. So, I'll try my hand at selling here:

Turbografx 16 Unit and all hookups, two new unboxed original TG16 controllers, one new unboxed TurboTap, two 6FT official extension cables and the following games (all loose):

Keith Courage
TV Sports Hockey
King Of Casino
Legendary Axe
World Class Baseball
World Court Tennis
Takin it to the Hoop
Jack Nicklaus Turbo Golf
TV Sports Football
Double Dungeons
JJ & Jeff
Hit The Ice
Tv Sports Basketball

A second TG16 console (no power supply or rf hookups) and a used controller in excellent condition. This was a spare "just in case" system and looks and works perfectly, just as the other one.

Both this TG16 unit and the other listed above, while in excellent condition, are missing that plastic back cover. This is because one was purchased with a turbobooster on it (that is sold) and the other was purchased with a CD unit attached (that is sold too). The cover does not affect functionality, but I just figured it noteworthy.

The following PCE titles (all loose with sleeve unless otherwise stated):

Populous
Street Fighter II
Armed F
Shinobi
Thunderblade
Volfied
Rock-On
F1 Circus 91

Take it all for $150 plus shipping! PM me!

Well, 5+ hours left on most of my auctions. Sad to see them go, but what are you going to do. Most are still priced right too. Also listed Magical Chase, and for that I did add "Super Rare" to the title description :)
#4
Quote from: Duo_R on 12/06/2008, 01:40 AMand add to your titles "ULTRA RARE RARE RARE!!!"
Hah...won't go THAT far. I want to be able to square off my PSEG bill and get some gifts for my kid at least, but will not go the "Uber Rare!" route!

Quote from: hoobs88 on 12/05/2008, 11:36 PMJust a bit of advice... if you want to increase your exposure for ebay searches, try adding more keywords. Utilize all the characters that you have available.

example: "(Insert name of game here) Turbo Grafx Duo Express TG-16 NEC"

I have even done searches for "Turbo Grafix" or "Turbo Graphics" and found matches occasionally.
You know, I took your advice and thank you for it. I adjusted the auctions that I could (can't submit revisions of course on auctions with bids) to give them a broader search spectrum. Again, thanks for the tip.

Quote from: guest on 12/05/2008, 07:18 PMnice!!! i am going for that Tg16 secrets book :) if you see a bidder called "justbesmurfy" laugh first then remember its me :P
Haha, no prob. It is a pretty neat book. It's rather difficult to find "secrets" books on Turbografx games.
#7
Everything I have listed are "what you see is what you get" basically. If a manual is not there, it is because I don't have it :)

It is a nice clean collection and from someone who is not a reseller (my own personal stuff) so you will be happy with what you win :) I still have other items such as Magical Chase, Bonk 3, two TG16 systems and two TB Plus units, yet ANOTHER minty TurboExpress with good screen/sound, a Telegames converter, and some choice PCE titles. I'll wait and see how these go before I start selling the rest....as maybe I will not have to :)
#8
EDIT: While I thought I could just keep my stuff.....I have to sell. It is just "stuff" really, and my family needs me right now especially. Ebay link posted in the first thread.
#9
That's crazy. Reminds me of that Andre guy years ago buying all of the Magical Chase copies on ebay. To each their own. Who cares what they buy. I am guessing the good majority of Turbo collectors already have these games anyway. Although, not good for the newcomers. According to ebay, the TG16 looks to be one very expensive machine to collect for.
#10
Quote from: Press_Run on 12/01/2008, 10:04 PMNice, but only one day? You could include best offer in case its "too sweet" for anyone to shallow.

Besides, what's with you selling off tons of Turbo/PCE stuff. Kicking the habit already?
No, not in the least. I am just narrowing it down to my TG16/Turbobooster Plus, complete USA hucard set, a select few PCE hucard titles I enjoy, and my converter to play those. I also have two Turboexpresses as well :) Just consolidating to what I want to keep, and selling off things that will gain that extra XM cash for the family....especially now that I am out of work. I know the one day thing may have been too quick...oh well. I did take your advice and added a best offer option tho.
#11
EDIT:

Check list on next page!
#12
Well, I sold off the CD-Rom system so I no longer need the card. Just spending a little too much right now. I completed the USA hucard set, and really have no desire to complete a CD-Rom set. That and I have to buy my wife a XM present!
#13
Quote from: nat on 11/28/2008, 11:47 PMHe didn't have two. That's still the same one I sold him. Probably had a deadbeat bidder, considering the disclaimer at the top of the description section.
Gotcha. That disclaimer wasn't there when I originally viewed.....he must have edited the relisted auction. Well, I guess a lucky second chance for someone, although it is still starting at a beefy pricetag.

It's BACK:

http://cgi.ebay.com/MAGICAL-CHASE-TURBO-GRAFX-US-90s-HOLY-GRAIL-MINT-RARE_W0QQitemZ110318720846

What do you make of that? Seller had two? Buyer backed out? (although I cannot see how since it was immediate payment required previously). Odd.

Quote from: Zeon on 11/26/2008, 04:13 PMWow zektor, I didn't realize you were a member here. I'm the one that just bought the unit from you on digitpress. I can't wait to get it and start tinkering with it, glad to have done business with you.
Hehe..small world :) Yeah, you are better off playing around with it. I am a great game player, but fixing...ehh...not so much :) I initially had it listed on ebay, but decided top break up the package since people were asking me for individual parts. Good luck with it...hopefully you can get it going!

Quote from: mobiusclimber on 11/26/2008, 01:48 PMWhy didn't you just file an SNAD claim with Paypal and get your cash back?
Well, I spent $85 plus $15 shipping on JUST the CD unit (no TG16, no controllers, no turbotap). If I file a paypal claim (and I have been down this road once before), they make you wait for weeks and then you have to send it back at your own cost to the seller to get reimbursed. The shipping would have been another $20 since this thing is so darn heavy. I made a deal with the seller instead and took a 50% refund to not have to deal with the wait time and return shipping business. So, I lost $50 on the deal.
Well, that's not too bad when it's all said and done. Sucks, but at least you got something back.
Yeah. I can't believe how hard it is to find working units nowadays. I am fortunate at least that I do have one that works :) Now all I need is that super system card so that I can play some of the later games...

EDIT: CD unit is sold!

I took it down because someone in the forums wanted just the Turbografx unit...which IS fine. It really stinks that the cd player is broken on this. I have a good one that works, but purchased this as a "just in case" model. The seller told me it was perfect...as is with many of these ebay sellers. At least I am being honest with how it really is....non-functional. If it doesn't sell in the forums I may re-list just the player at a very reduced price :)
#19
While I can find the Japanese card rather easily, I am still looking for the USA Turbografx 16 version of the Super System Card 3.0...so that I can play some of the games I have :) Does anyone have one of these that they can part with? I don't care if it is loose or not in mint condition...just as long as it works fine. Here's hoping I get a response! :)

I purchase this as a spare (the CD unit that is) and it of course came it not working. I know I could get it running with help from the forums, but I just do not have the time to spare. Besides, I have one that works fine and that is good enough for me. The TG16 unit is one of my spare consoles, and it works perfectly. The gamepads are in great condition as is the Tap. I kind of just wanted to clean house and get rid of some of the excess :) No power supplies with this unfortunately, as I only have one CD and one TG16 power supply of my own...and I need them :) Feel free to shoot best offers if the price does not seem right.

Quote from: zektor on 11/25/2008, 12:22 AMYep, I have felt the same way many times. But, don't let the hobby get the best of you. If you go in hot and heavy and buy everything you will find that you are broke rather quickly, and even worse may even feel compelled to sell off your new goodies to pay your bills! :)

I recently completed (today!) the TG16 USA set. Loose hucards only however. This is how I limited myself and made an attempt to spend less. Even still, some of these loose games *still* ran me some coin. But I didn't grab them all in one shot. This collection has been going on for AWHILE.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there will always be a deal to grab. Just when you think "I gotta have it..I'll never get this chance again", you end up getting the chance over and over. Just go easy with it. Buy and enjoy a good game and then move forward to the next :)
The one thing worrying is missing out on a great deal and having to pay for it later. Especially when you have resellers cropping all the good picks for themselves and charging triple for it. But this may be a blessing in disguise as the sudden surge of rare games may allow great deals to present themselves. Anyway after this last "spree", I'm going to take it easy and shift my focus onto video reviews. (Got to prepare with reviews for Y's 1, 2, 3, and 6.)

Btw zektor, congrats on finishing the HuCards collection. It give me a little hope that nothing is impossible to achieve. Last I checked my complete Hucard collection is at 51, so I'm than halfway in that department. I'm surprised you didn't start at thread boasting this monumental occasion. Anyway, more power to you my friend and good luck in completing the CD collection, cause you're going to need it.
There is always the worry of missing out on the "great deal". Trust me. Been there, done that...times twelve. The deals WILL come around again. We are at fault when it comes to those resellers in most cases. We are feeding them. They buy the good deals up, and we pay them a premium. If we would just STOP doing this the prices will go down. These people do not care about the games like we do. They care about money, plain and simple. And, when they have to pay that re-listing fee over and over and it gets to a point in which they have already lost without a sale..well...they will simply give it away more or less. These are great games no doubt. But they are also vintage games and without US the demand is really not there.

Again, the deals will always be there. You can stop collecting right now and re-visit a year from now and still find great deals. I have been down this road before. I collected the TG16 six years ago and almost completed....then I sold it off to pay bills. I started again under a year ago and I completed it. The ONLY game that I could not snag in all of that time was Magical Chase. This may be one of your only hurdles..at least when it comes to USA hucard collecting.

Yup, these are great. I purchased like 80 of them in the past! They are a little different than original sleeves. They look the same but the plastic is sturdier. I actually like them BETTER than the original sleeves...which seem to get "floppy" over the years. These feel as if they will hold up for a VERY long time.

Lol no really one less asterisk and I would have guessed the yahoo was Ceti...(as in Ceti Alpha)  =)
That wasn't me that purchased that $460 Magical Chase :) I purchased the last one, which was $429. Then the seller refunded $40 due to the fact that the manual was not mint as stated. Then someone purchased that manual off of me for $60. So, in actuality, I spent $330 on the hucard. Wish I could have purchased one cheaper, but I did what I did to complete by hucard collection...and I did. No regrets here :) I love the TG16!
#25
Well, I just bought this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=300270945575

As it is quiet a rare sight to see "Turbografx 16" referenced on the packaging :) So, yeah, for a brief point of time back in those days there were companies actually promoting the fact that their cleaning kits would clean this system. Good thing I found this too...I am sure mine is in an extreme need of cleaning at the moment :)

They sure will, have no fear.

This particular copy that just went for $460 was sold to the seller, by me, for $165 for the card & manual in mint condition.
That's crazy. I would have taken that in a heartbeat. I take it that this seller was a previous collector? I purchased some of his games, and they came in great. Sure helped on nearly completing my set (4 to go!)

Quote from: Press_Run on 11/14/2008, 07:43 AMIt's over.

The game was sold at $460, shocking how it was also a best offer. Well, that dashes any hope I had in finding a good price for it on Ebay now that every buyer and seller will resort to it as the "norm". *sigh*  :(
Someone will sell it for less eventually. Ebay is an excellent source, but you are probably right about the "standard" in pricing that happens when a game continually sells for the same (or near same) amount. Joe over at DP sold a loose one for $200 this past June, and I unfortunately missed it. I had to resort to the high price on ebay myself, but I just had to considering how LONG I waited to get even just a hucard (years). Again, hang in there, you'll find one one day!

I have been playing Cyber Core alot lately. I really don't think I appreciated this game back in the day, and only now have really been getting in to the shooter. I really like it!

Buy/Sell/Trade / FS: Hybrid Tap!
11/09/2008, 12:06 AM
As many know (or not?) the cables between the Duo Tap and Turbo Tap can be swapped to allow a Duo tap to work on a Turbografx 16 and vice versa. I swapped these out so that I could plug multiple controllers like the Avenue 6 into my TG16. Of course I had a Turbo Tap and a Duo Tap cable left over after this, so I created the "Hybrid Tap"! It plugs into your DUO and allows TG16 controllers to work on it. I do not need it, and am looking for $10 plus shipping for anyone that wants it.

I also have two very nice condition (brand new looking) TG16 original controllers, two official 6FT extension cables, and one Turbo Tap (unmodified regular model) for sale. I would like to sell it all off in one shot for about $50, but could break it up if someone wanted some of it.

I accept paypal payments only. PM if interested!
#31
Quote from: hoobs88 on 11/02/2008, 12:54 PMThe last Magical Chase that I saw on ebay ended around that price. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same buyer who is now selling it.
No, that buyer was me :) I am keeping mine however.

I originally paid $429, but there was an issue with the manual (sticker residue) and the seller took $40 off the price. Then, someone offered $60 for that manual. So, I scored for $329...not too bad. Just the hucard, but my entire collection is loose anyway so what the hell.
#32
This guy was obviously a collector, and is now unloading his entire Turbografx collection. I grabbed a few games from him that I am still waiting to arrive. That price is definitely steep. I wonder if someone is going to use that buy it now!
#33
Yeah, I was watching those mugs for days now. I ended up winning them both luckily. I am a big coffee drinker....now to decide whether or not I will ever use them :) Probably not...but....that WOULD be drinking in style :)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130263779007

I recently acquired a few lots of cards, and these were the spares I had. Free shipping, and it turns out to be about $7 a game. Not a bad deal for someone looking to start out and grab a few choice titles :)
#35
Thanks for the warm welcomes! I have been playing the ol' TG16 quite a bit lately. Just love it. Now to get my wife away from bomberman so I can continue my Dragon's Curse!
#36
Good to see you here fellow DPer :)
#37
Is there a TG16 manual archive anywhere on the net? It would be very nice to have my manuals locally on the HD (preferrably in PDF) to look through without bending/creasing/ruining my actual manuals. I could swear that I found something years ago, but I may be thinking of Genesis manuals...
#38
Aww, that stinks. I missed out on this one. I used to do SS on Digital Press, but it seems it kind of got lost over the years. I will definitely participate next year tho!
#39
This is just another jerk trying to capitalize on the hobby. I understand if you want to make some coin on these oldies, but my god, don't blatantly try to rip people off. I see his stuff get re-listed and re-listed. If anyone is buying, it is some Joe Shmoe who doesn't realize there are better people to deal with for these types of items. I would never purchase anything from this guy....with games on his kitchen floor no less!

Well, I never received a confirmation that I was able to post in the forums, but tried today and I am in :)

Just would like to say hello and introduce myself abit. I have been a videogame collector for about 25 years, have been an active member on Digital Press for over a decade, and love the TG16! :)

I had a great collection years ago but unfortunately had to part with it due to debt. Years later I am back on my feet and have been thinking of the Turbografx and all of the fun I had with it over the years, so I decided to re-collect. My only source has been ebay, and WOW how the demand and prices have gone up since I last collected. I decided to collect loose (but excellent condition) hucards now, as I can get them a whole lot cheaper and it seems I can complete a loose collection in no time at all. It is all about playing the games for me, so loose (as long as I have a hucard sleeve) does not bother me one bit at all.

I recently got ahold of Magical Chase and Bonk 3. When I last collected, I had Bonk 3 but just couldn't get my hands on Magical Chase no matter how hard I looked. I ended up overpaying highly, but I just had to jump on it because I didn't want to take the chance that I never find it again (or the price skyrockets even MORE) and I snatched it up.

I am now at about 60 or so USA titles, and only have 34 I think to go? Most are commons, so the collection should be complete in no time. I scored a very nice (and LOUD) Turbo Express from this forum's own Windancer (thanks!) and scored a Turbografx 16 unit, two pads, turbotab and a few games in trade for a Gameboy Light in the DP forums. Needless to say I am back in TG16 gaming bliss :)

Well, that is my little story and just wanted to shout out a hello on my first post.
