Anyone here played Vasteel? I'm trying to figure out a good strategy for destroying factory cores, I usually have to spend a lot of units trying to chip away it's health, it's almost impossible.

It's really a pain in the a$$.  I didn't even bother....time consuming/tedious...and like others I don't care to finish.  Part 2 seems much improved, but it's Japanese text only!  Maybe someday someone will translate so we can patch it.

this is the 3rd time in the past month I've heard of cd reading trouble from doujindance DUO-r consoles......Honestly I'd stay away from his consoles in general. He cakes all his wiring with glue of some sort making it very difficult to fix some things if they ever go bad in the future.

Mine had an issue with CD game music and audio drops after about a year.  Adjusting one of the internal pots solved it.  But I don't remember noticing all the wiring being 'caked'.  I'll have to have another look, cause I wonder if he just started doing this?

At the time of the above I order a back-up HOP-M3 laser just in case the pot adjustment didn't work.   It never hurts to have a spare on hand

Same here regarding the slightest system bump and audio loss. 

I still have my issues with audio dialog loss on a particular game during cut-scenes....."Macross 2036".  Regreasing the rails didn't work for me.  The game music plays fine, only dialog audio loss??  I just live with it for now.  Maybe I'll try the approach to completely clean the rails off.

Yeah, you're right K.Courage.  I was hoping it just wasn't as sensitive!  It works fine so I just wont mess with it for now.

- regreasing rails resulted in no improvement.
- shotgun replaced C653 resulted in 100% improvement.  The unit appears just a little sensitive though, meaning if you tap/touch the duo-r front cover in certain locations the audio will disappear.  This tells me it's in need of a slight pot adjustment?

For some reason, during the cut-scenes of Macross 2036 the dialogue starts OK..... then skips, disappears.  Before I go around adjusting any pot settings anyone have a similar issue?  The CD game disc is clean, no visible scratches and I can't duplicate the issue using other CD games with dialogue. 

No problems with other CD game music, including Macross 2036.

I'm not playing from a boot/CD copy.  Do I have a bad disk?

The trick is to make him offers, he'll usually work out a pretty good deal with you.

PCE "Break In", a pool game is in English.  Not sure if you can switch to Japanese language however.

For me it had to be one of those video game magazines from that era.  My friend was lucky his parents picked one up for him at release, needless to say I was over his house whenever time permitted.

My doujindance rgb modded duo r works perfectly!!!  I did have an issue with the audio on CD games skipping in/out about 6mos ago...but through the help of doujindance and forum guides here it was easily fixed via the duo r pot settings.

I'm looking forward to playing these titles.  I recently fitted my Neo cab with new Sanwa JLF silent joysticks and damn, playing Turbo games with these joysticks are freaking awesome!  Not mention on a cab as well

Passed it!!!  I switched to the male fighter ship and upgraded the 'V' weapon to max.    My favorite stage has gotta be level 6.  I love flying/dodging through an asteroid field to cool tunes

Awesome game, one of the most underrated shooters IMO - Tons of action, great music and bosses. I could probably help what are you stuck on? The Boss?

Yeah, the Boss.  I think the last part, she flies horizontally across the screen shooting these oval beams which I have no part dodging while engaged in combat but then she fires off these spreading lasers that always seem to get me and/or that tracking/homing shot.  I thought maybe of just getting out of the way (upper screen/corner) when she fires off those lasers would be best instead of trying to dodge them?

It is a great shooter, tight controls and nice soundtrack.  I wasn't expecting much when I picked it up originally, needless to say I was quite surprised.

My unit just started exhibiting CD sound glitches today        

It was fitted with a new laser by doujindance so I'm hoping it's a pot/calibration issue.  Currently awaiting the tools to arrive so I can successfully open the unit.

I scored my unit from Doujindance last year.  Quality work and works perfect.  I use Viletims's SCART to JAMMA adapter to connect to my cab.  It's awesome and playing the Turbo has never felt better ;)

doujindance told me the same. 

But I have my Japanese cabs running fine without problems here in the USA.  I also have a step up/down transformer for Japanese standards to the USA, but I've never used it on the cabs.  Haven't noticed a problem yet with the Duo-R without the step up/down transformer.  Looks like others can confirm as well which is good for both of us ;)
