Where would someone such as myself who lives in the Midwest be able to get a candy cab? Or rather, what's the best place for those?

This is really the only forum I frequent and I figure I'd start my search here as I see you've gotten one.
Windy gaming is bringing another container of them soon, he's based in Chicago. That's your best bet

Quote from: Damon Plus on 06/10/2013, 07:10 AMUsually people with low number of posts do this. I've seen in a few raffles people with 14-15 posts, 12 of which are for entering raffles.
That is, imo, unfair to other people that contributes to other parts of the forum.

I'm not saying rrob is doing this, but all those posts... don't know what to think.

Gotta say, I wish I was half as lucky as him!
im active here as much as a lot of you guys, but some of you know me from other forums or have met me at octurbofest or other meetups.

i know (and have met) rrob. he is a good guy and his heart is in the right place. he spreads the 'obey' word with the best of them, just maybe not as much here. he's a generous dude who gets a lot of people started with nec stuff. maybe he was a little overzelous with all the raffle entries, but it seems like he is trying to make up for this 'infraction'.

and for the record i do a lot of raffles (elsewhere) that he has entered of mine and he has never won. so i hope that lowers his winning percentage a bit. i also openly mock him for never winning any of mine.

one day left on the charity auction!
#29
http://www.gamegavel.com/reviews/2012/12/04/romstar-snk-veteran-passes-away-charity-auctions/

im running a charity auction for Nightmare Tony. We lost a legend and a lot of the people from the NG side of the community donated items. There is more coming, but here is the link. The fine folks over at Game Gavel were was also super cool in giving us a venue to do this free of charge! There is Home Console things as well as PCB's and other arcade goodies! Every penny goes to the American Cancer Society as a donation in Tony's name. There is more stuff being donated in still, so the listing are still growing! All items are donated from various personal collections from people that knew him.

I am personally putting up the Ghosts and Goblins Prototype PCB that Tony got personally from his days working at Romstar.

Thanks for looking!

On his facebook page this morning:

QuoteI just wanted to let my brother's friends know that Tony died peacefully in his sleep on november 4 at 1041 pm. services will be announced- will be at rose hills in whittier, in lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the american cancer society in his name for kidney cancer- thank you
I am truly going to miss my friend, but his legacy lives on with his work with SNK and Romstar. Cheers, Tony.

Quote from: ParanoiaDragon on 11/03/2012, 01:56 AMMaybe I missed it, what kind of cancer is he fighting?  Is it one of the tough ones.  My dad has/had a type of lymphoma(sp?), but it has been in full regression for several years now.  I lost a friend to an intestinal cancer, & I just heard about another that has the same.  Another friend of mine just went thru treatment(I forget which kind of cancer she has) & seems to be doing ok.
honestly im not sure of the exact type. i've spoken with him a while back about it, but never went into super detail because he was in amazing spirits about it and i did not want to bring him down. i do know that it did spread from his kidney and lung to his brain and spine.

i didn't want to update this so soon, but he is now back home with his family and in hospice care.

we're all with you tony.

Off-Topic / Remember Nightmare Tony Well.
11/02/2012, 06:31 PM
If you do not know him, Nightmare Tony is one of the Neo-Geo regulars. He has been a great member with a near unparalleled technical expertise. He has done amazing things for the communities and has always been there for anyone in need.

He has done great things on the arcade side too and is a former employee of Romstar. He has been a great friend and help to me personally too.

He has been battling cancer for quite some time and has been in the ICU for a little while and on and off ventilation.

Lets all wish him well and hope for a swift recovery. He truly is one of the nicest people in the communities.

Link to the NG Thread for him:

its been several messages and nothing.
cdamm... Were you the one I spoke with at Octurbofest?

The vendor area as it stands right now is "stupidly sold out" in the words of one of the guys that handles this, meaning there really isn't a way for them to sneak another table in that they can find.  That said, I imagine you haven't gotten an e-mail yet because they're exploring some expansion plans that are still being ironed out.  I really can't go into more detail than that right now because a lot of this intertwines with some announcements they've yet to make on the official site.

As for those of you I spoke with at Octurbofest or anyone that would be interested in helping us with the MGC, we really do need your help!  We need folks to help plan, help set up, tear down, run tournaments... Basically, we have a lot of opportunities and we have a lot of perks lined up for those that do help such as after-parties and the like.  So again, please take a few minutes and contact us like Mati suggested above.

Contrary to what some believe, I was not one of the original organizers of the MGC.  I got involved after going to the show in 2001, and honestly, it has been one of the most rewarding, exciting, and often times entertaining things I've had the chance to do since that first show.  And really, it is often times folks like Mati, Josh, Matt L., Jeff, and Byron from these boards that really make the show such a big success each year.  I has been a privilege to work alongside all of them.  :)

Later.
yes that was me you met at octurbofest.

'stupidly sold out' is a bummer. If a table or two can be arranged (via top secret arrangements), please let me know- im down for anything. Im going either way, but I would prefer to have a table (and hopefully a wee bit-o-power).

Shipping to Canada for this system, is going to be more than 20 bucks, I can assure you of that.  :)
i remember going to canada my loose one was about $40 for shipping to canada. shipping costs are nuts- especially if it crosses an international line.
