2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

As many on here know, Ebay has been my hunting ground for anything and everything turbo, (reason is I'm probably the only guy in the entire state who has a turbo grafx). Then, I noticed something "peculiar". Someone has been buying up tons of Turbo games (the rare kind) for top dollar. First thought it was some collector who won the lottery, then found out he's been buying more than one of the SAME game!  :(

He makes the Dynastic Hero buyer look...sane!

What do you make of it? A crazed Turbo fan, a greedy reseller trying to corner the market, or someone with too much cash?

MotherGunner

All I know is that guy has been sniping me for weeks now.

3 of your 4 links are from the same seller. I would guess the seller is using another account to artificially inflate prices, and occasionally buy stuff from other sellers.

Actually, one of them I accidentally copied twice. Should be fixed now.

nat

Air Zonk for $130?!?!? WHAT the FUCK?! That's like paying $50 for a copy of the original Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridge.

That's crazy. Reminds me of that Andre guy years ago buying all of the Magical Chase copies on ebay. To each their own. Who cares what they buy. I am guessing the good majority of Turbo collectors already have these games anyway. Although, not good for the newcomers. According to ebay, the TG16 looks to be one very expensive machine to collect for.

DJLobo

Give it a year and maybe you'll see that same "buyer" selling off everything they've bought now. When I got into the TG16 2 years ago, there were one or two buyers who were bidding on everything TG16 related. They could have been collectors, but I do remember seeing one of them selling off their stuff over the summer. Then again, hopefully, this person has just discovered how awesome the TG16 is and is buying everything they can get their hands on.

I actually met him, he came over to pick up a few games he bought from me off of ebay, he also brought over Magical Chase and Darius Alpha to show me.

Sounds like a scum fuck reseller trying to inflate prices.  I hope he chokes on 'em and loses his ass reselling 'em a couple years from now.

When I first tested the waters pricing TG-16 games on ebay a couple years ago, the prices for most were in the $5-$20 range, with most decent titles $10-$15. Now, everything is around $25 and up, with $30 being common.

I would bet the demand for TG-16 games hasn't increased as much as the market indicates. It's likely there are resellers that have snatched up all the cheap lots to inflate the prices.

Agreed, I just picked up Bonk, Bonk 2, and Yo Bro for $5 bucks a pop complete with outer boxes.  I also saw Soldier Blade go for $20 recently.

Yes there are a few resellers still around.  We all remember Bullseye/TooManyCollectibles.  That guy was a true scum.

It was Ebay, but mind you I got VERY lucky.  Placed a bid when no one was looking.  Also had to make sure with the seller I was getting BOTH...

Yeah, I know. I hate when seller put a picture of a complete game only to say (in small lettering) its case only. Sorry you didn't get it man....wait a minute! That means the game is up for grabs! <yoink!>

Yeah, as if Air fucking Zonk for $130 isn't just as ridiculous.

This is definitely a case of a single seller "buying" his own shit to try to artificially inflate prices. What scum, indeed.

Reminds me of this idiot Worldlam that bought all these C64 items at absurd prices thinking hed resell for a fortune.

Credit card debt f t l.

boy was that guy a moron.

This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

$100 for Turdican!

What is there, $15-20 in listing fees for those four auctions?  Good luck turning a profit douche nozzle.

OK, now that I read the newer posts, I take back what I said. This "buyer's" idea might have worked last year, but not in today's economic climate. Man, I can't stand eBayers who pull this crap.

What really steams my tail is when you have an item YOU are selling...and it goes pretty high only to find out the last bidder has retracted their bid and made you sell for half of what you thought you were getting.

Bullseye and TooManyCollectibles were the same person-- he just changed his eBay ID at some point. eBay finally kicked him off eBay completely a few years ago. I don't think GameSquad is the same person; GS has far too few negatives.
