Annoying Order of the Griffon glitch(?)

Not sure if this is a glitch in my game or if I'm missing something here...

I have the Dragon Key from the old village (little silver key below my compass?) but I still cannot go through the dragon door...

Anybody here know what I'm talking about? I searched the web but couldn't find a suitable forum to discuss this... I hope this is cool to post here.

Kier, Marius, Larissa and Hawk.

Thing is i've run around a lot and gained a ton of experience before advancing to the Old village... leaving and venturing around to gain items and such.

Are you sure you're not just at a random locked door that needs picked/busted through (pointless to do..anyway)

It should unlock and then bam, the key goes away.

I'm there... dragon head/text and all... silver looking key in the box under the compass.

No Dice.

No matter, just I accidentally just saved over it with a new game. 'DOH

I wonder , since its been awhile, maybe you got to select it and press a button. I cant remember. Im used to the PC SSI games with keyboards.

I've beat the game twice with a similar party (Keir, Kerwin, Larissa, and Hawk). The first time I beat it, I made a rough draft map of the dungeons and towns. The second time, I made more thorough maps of every nook and cranny and printed them from Spreadsheets so they look nice. When I saw your question, I thought you also needed the 'Staff of Life' to enter the door but after looking at my map, I realized that the dragon door leads to the Staff of Life. If there is a locked door in the game that you need a key for (such as this one) you should be able to just pass through when you have the key and it will disappear from the screen (under the compass). If you have a Duo, I would recommend starting and saving another party to perhaps get throught this glitch.

Yeah, I started a new party (using the Mage-with-armor cheat).

I'm already up to about the same level I was with the last party in about 1/4 the gaming hours... because now I know where a lot of the loot is.

I'm about to hit up the Wolves Den after I level up a bit more.

The weird this is I had a silver key under my compass but the dragon/head door would not open or let me pass... we'll see if it happens again.
