2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Quote from: Zeon on 04/07/2009, 07:03 PMSeriously are you guys so retarted you can't understand what Mithos is trying to say, or do you just want to argue about an extremely simple point that bad?
Are you too retarded to properly spell retarded, or are you intimating that I'm some sort of pastry?  :P

No, I clearly understand what he is saying.  What should be equally clear is that I find his argument equating the imagined world to the real world as silly and illogical.

Quote from: Zeon on 04/07/2009, 07:26 PMIf you know mithos, he actually does not believe in god, his argument had nothing to do with proving he exists either.
Think first, then type.  You're entirely incorrect, as that was the exact contention that started this debate:

Quote from: Mithos first substantive post in this thread on 04/05/2009, 05:58 AM......the very fact that you can deny the existence of a god proves that said god exists.  Now whether or not you worship this god is up to you.....'nuff said.

Oh no I made a small mistake, we cant have any of that! As if you are the spitting image of perfect yourself.

Really now, seems that you are the one who needs to read and think before he types.

Seriously Mithos.................believing............in.....oh man I can hardly breathe......
Mithos believing in God's existence?!?!?!?!?!?! As in a God that has a direct influence in our real physical world? As in the possibility of Mithos being even the slightest bit religious?!?!?!?!?!

Seriously you have not met this bastard.

You are clearly drawing inferences and coming to conclusions prematurely. Mithos wanted to make a point that had nothing to do with proving or disproving god exists, if anything he was trying to be a smart ass while bring up a good and valid point. The topic just so happened to be a convenient place to do so. They only reason he started to argue with you was that you initially misunderstood his simple and elementary argument and continued to misconstrue and misinterpret what he was trying to say. He never stated once, anywhere, that stuff from an imagined realm can transcend into the physical realm aside from the indirect impact it has on our lives. You know, it's like how a movie can influence the pop culture of a country, or how a scary story can give you nightmares. He simply said that if someone talks about it and it is mutually understood what it is whether physically in our realm or figuratively in our imaginations, it exists. He even says:

Quote from: Mithos on 04/06/2009, 06:20 PMI mean to say my goal isn't to prove god exists and has the influence people claim he/she/it has in the sense that people claim gods do, only that one exists somewhere.
Taking note that by somewhere it can be in the imagination of an oompa loompa for all we know.

I'm sorry you feel the need to dig a deeper meaning out of it, because there really isn't one. Maybe it's just too simple of an argument for you to understand, so you feel the need to complicate it and add bullshit nobody outright said, based solely on your incorrect assumptions, in order to be able to comprehend it. No one's trying to prove God's existence with this argument, it is what it is and if you can't handle that then please kindly drop it.

It is entirely irrelevant whether or not Mithos is religious and believes that God is an influence in our lives as an all-knowing, all-powerful being.  I'll state it simply: the debate revolves around his assertion that there is little distinction between an imagined concept and the physical world.

That sounds eerily similar to what I said in my first response to Mithos:

Quote from: NecroPhile on 04/06/2009, 12:54 PMIf someone believes in God, UFOs, Sasquatch, or whatever, then the concept of them exists, nothing more.
As you can see, I agreed that the idea of God indisputably exists but disagreed that there's no room for debate on whether or not God exists.  For Mithos it isn't as simple as you say; he went on to intimate that both the idea and the actual being exist:

Quote from: Mithos on 04/06/2009, 01:57 PMThe ideal exists regardless, but the actual being exists if you define existence the way I do.
Quote from: Zeon on 04/08/2009, 11:09 AMNo one's trying to prove God's existence with this argument, it is what it is and if you can't handle that then please kindly drop it.
Then please explain the sentence quoted above.  I didn't force you to join this debate, so feel free to walk away at any time if you can't handle the discussion.

I actually have a soft spot for Martin Luther. At least he challenged the Catholic Church, and questioned their authority.

My first go through in college i was a philosophy and religion major and I've had this discussion a billion times, but I don't want to talk. Just post some funny pics that are related.
