We got back yesterday from Salem, MA for our honeymoon- wanted to upload some of these photos Sue took-
we were in an old graveyard (so old most of the gravestone markings were illegible)  that we weren't supposed to be in after dark- Sue started snapping some pictures- as we looked at the photos we saw something that we've never seen from Sue's camera before- orbs which supposedly signify the presence of ghosts... there was another couple in the cemetery too snapping pictures- they saw us looking over ours and called out "you guys are getting the orbs too?" - they showed us their pictures and sure enough they were getting the same thing.  we snapped other night pictures outside of the graveyard for comparison and only a few showed orbs and not nearly as many.

What do you guys think?  I'm not sure I ever believed in orbs as something more than trick photography or light reflecting off pollen, etc. but this shit looks bugged out.  Here's four of the photos...

I have some photos JUST like that from a graveyard by me....

we do some "ghost hunting" nonsense sometimes...sometimes we get good stuff, other times we get nothin!

all that stuff is, is moisture in the air/on the lense reflecting your flash.

at least I think.  I tested this theory by going somewhere there isn't "ghosty" stuff (outside of a mcdonalds), same kind of stuff happened with the pictures.  So unless there was a slaughter at mcdonalds, Its just moisture.

...how was the weather when you took them!

Ive got some pictures with just  a single orb, and yea those are pretty creepy.....

though if the weather wasn't damp.... maybe im entirely wrong and have a bunch of creeped out pictures on my computer also :)

I have to admit, the pics are cool to see.  I won't even begin to try to explain what they could or couldn't be as I have no knowledge of the subject.

I do have to say that I believe in ghosts though.  One night when I was home alone I heard a LOUD noise.  I grabbed my gun and ran downstairs and started looking for the source.  By my front door there is a table that was totally knocked over and the FRAGILE lamp on the top of it was on the floor.  The lamp  was sitting flat on the floor but the table was on its side.  The shade on the top of the lamp is actually made out of very thin coral.  Any small tap would just shatter this thing.  Yet it was totally in tact sitting perfectly  on the light bulb.  Please tell me how a TABLE just happens to knock itself over and a fragile lamp doesn't break.  The door was locked, no one could have snuck in and just ran out hitting the table or anyting like that.  I also have an alarm on the house and if any doors or windows open, it beeps.
All is well. :)

yeah man.  ghosts are wacko.

My girlfriends road had malaria outbreak and crap in the olden times and now there is some creepy shit going down on that road.

random screaming in her house, doors doing weird things like opening, closing, locking....

and my old house. >_< ohhhh man.   Dont get me started on that beast.

I say pollen, dust, or bugs.

M1Savage

Cool pics no matter the explanation. The orbs weren't visible to the naked eye were they?

Zeon

Yeah it's junk in the air, kinda like the interesting effects you get when you shine a flashlight into the darkness outside. Doesn't make it any less cool looking, or interesting nonetheless.

BlackandBlue

I went up there last October (so, low pollen that time of year) and had the same effect, mostly in the graveyard too.  We figured we'd so one of the candlelight tours.  They tell you they are spirits, but it seems to only work with digital cameras.  Not to say you wont get any of these orbs with a regular film camera, it just doesn't work as well.  I know a ton of crap went down there and wouldn't doubt that if there were ghosts, they'd be there.  Might go back up there this year, because I just learned there is a store that has a bunch of Turbo stuff on the main street.  We only live about an hour away anyway, so it'll be a good day trip.

Yknow, now that you mention it like this.  It is sort of weird that on the same night you'll get orbs in the graveyard, but not in the outsidegraveyard area.

we did some exploring.... theres a graveyard by me that isn't fenced in, so if you just stroll in from the side and avoid the night guard and patrolling po-po's, you can wander around all damn night.

The pictures are still on the camera, since im lazy, but by certain trees and other creepy / secluded graveyard areas at this place, there are orbs. Lots of em.  Just like you have.

Other places, there were no orbs.  Just in those creepy ass places.

and then we heard a pop/crackle noise in the tree area about 20 feet from us, and a loud thud.  The kind you'd hear if Thor smashed his hammer into the earth.

We fled like pansies and went to McDonalds....and looked at all the pictures ... some if you zoom in, you'd swear you see faces.

I should ask my dad what hes got.  Hes been to some haunted houses on purpose with a tape recorder and captured some freaky stuff.

We wanted to go to this psyche ward that was abandoned and then turned into a rec center to snoop around, but they were on to our plan and told us to leave.  I guess going to a swimming pool/gym with cameras and tape recorders is not the recreation they want out of us.

I should buy one of those EMF meters and see if maybe there are certain hot-spots where orbs show up and the  meter goes wacky.

Pollen wasn't visible to the naked eye...  I'll post a comparison pic tonight- and I also took pictures in the cemetery the next night with a disposable camera- so we'll see if it's a light trick that only works with digital cameras when I get those pictures developed...  :)
Black and Blue- that store had about two handfuls of turbo games- a duo, turbo express and a tg-16...  Not sure if you'd want to drive an hour to check it out but I'd say definitely drop in if you're back in Salem.  There were only two games I didn't have- the one I didn't buy was a Ballistix still in it's box with partial wrapper...  They do however have tons of stuff for classic systems aside from turbografx...

I heard they were ridiculously over-priced too.  But thanks for the info on them.  I'll definitely check them out if we go up this year.

There were two old graveyards in the main part of Salem where all the famous bits are- the one we didn't go to was fenced in and behind the old Salem jail that was being torn down- I don't think anyone could have gotten in to that one at night...

The orbs are surely nothing more than backscatter, which can be minimized by moving the flash further from the lens (which is why you see it more often with today's ultra compact digital cameras than with bulky 35mm cameras of yesteryear).  They're cool pics nonetheless, so thanks for sharing.

When I saw "orbs" in the subject I was really excited to see the photos.... but I had something else on my mind.

As for the graveyard photos: There is certainly pollen (and dust) on our monitors. May I suggest that the concerned parties carefully wipe down their LCD screen --> problem solved!
