Nah, I saw the original Twilight and didn't think it was terrible. I mean, I would have done a lot of things differently (such as hired better looking chicks), but I've seen far worse. Robert Pattinson looks like a girl in real life anyways. The loser was in a couple of Harry Potter movies; kinda hard to take him seriously after that. They could have found someone much better to do that role. The whole "glitter in sunlight" thing was completely lame though...and whoever did the post-production needed to be fired because the color quality of the film is major suck; I don't care if it was done that way for effect, it looks like shit and whoever did that is an emofag douchebag. That aside though, I thought it had some interesting twists on traditional vampire lore...nowhere near as good as Rice's work but then again, what is?

What the hell is Twilight anyway?  I've seen hate threads on other boards too.  But I have no idea what it is other then some kind of vampire movie.  I haven't been to a cinema in over 3 years now.  I just stick to the $1 laser discs from the recycle shop across the street. It's basically an artsy-fartsy re-spin on vampire lore, and in modern times. It follows a lot of the current movie-making trends...phoney-baloney drama, re-polishing old concepts, and turning everyone into soft-hearted losers instead of portraying certain people as the savages they really are. haha. I enjoy reading scathing reviews as well. And don't bother with the Star Wars prequels. They are absolutely terrible. People always say that Revenge of the Sith is really good, but it's not. ROTS is just a better P.O.S. than the previous two. Honestly, if it wasn't for Empire Strikes Back I wouldn't have much time for the franchise altogether. A New Hope was decent, Empire was fantastic, and ROTJ was mediocre at best.

Unfortunately Twilight, unlike Harry Potter, is a franchise without a predetermined end. Twilight will probably just go on and on and on without an end in sight, probably even going to television at some point.

That would be me...I never see anything on TV about it, and I've only seen bits and pieces of the original while shopping at Sams Club...but enough to piece it all together. they girlied up some of the vampire lore like the whole sunlight thing, and whatever.  It takes place in highschool so its probably normal for everyone here who's older to think its kinda retarded.  Its full of teenage drama.

Me personally I think it would be pretty jawesome to go to school with vampires and werewolves.  at least the new one had some cool crap and was less lovey-dovey BS.  There was some fighting, giant werewolves, that idiot rastafarian guy got demolished, there was some vintage vampire throwback nonsense going down in Italy, and kristin stewart crashed a motorcycle into a rock and smashed her face. 

though Kristin stewart still looks like a man so that sucked!

BTW I'm almost done reading some very good vampire fiction if anyone's interested- it's written by Guillermo Del Toro (he of the Chronos/Devil's Backbone/Blade II/Hellboy/Hellboy II/Pan's Labyrinth/Hobbit fame) and Chuck Hogan and it's the first book of a planned trilogy- the book is called The Strain and it's not pussified Twilight crap.  It isn't however "classic" vampire stuff- the vampires in this book have long razor sharp "stingers" for tongues.  Good stuff.  Recommended.

Sure it's a chick flick and all but I find the story to be compelling. however the movies do come with faults even though the story is compelling the acting is less to be desired. But I liked it and I will be visiting my daughter in southern california to see the 3rd movie when it comes out 

Now I did see a hilarious site a few weeks back in the hotel I work in I have to share this a guy got on the elevator with me and he was dressed exactly the same as one of the main characters in the movie I think edward the vampire is his name. When I exited the elevator I waited for the door to close and started laughing my ass off it was all I could do not to laugh inside the elevator I bet the guy thought he was a killer edward chick magnet. He had his hair all spiked up and stuff just like the dude from the movie.
