I was torn between Pia Carrot, Boundary Gate and Yuna FX.

I went with Yuna.   Something about the blend of PSG tunes, mini-games, and the fact that it's Yuna.....

and does anyone think there is an actual BAD game for the PC-FX

Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Zeta thinks they all suck.

Der Langrisser FX is my favorite of the ones I've played.

SuperDeadite

Chip Chan Kick
Zaroigar
Blue Breaker
Der Langrisser
Miraculum

I can't choose....all so good!!!

the hardware suits first person dungeon crawlers very well IMHO.   I kinda wish there were more, especially a Sci Fi one

something like a sequel to silent debuggers

But I also played the hell outta...
Team Innocent
Deep Blue Fleet
Power DoLLs
Last Imperial Prince
Der Langrisser
and Boundary Gate
WOW, that's alot for Boundary Gate
I guess I need to redo that walkthru from 10 years ago :/

yeah, lots of nice transitions between stages, and little extras here and there.

Is Boundary gate playable for a non japanese reader ? I thought Blue breaker was playable 'till i read a walkthrough saying there was dating in the game(!)... and it was even hard for a japanese player to complete the game.

By the way i really enjoy Miraculum , really good and playable , very good musics. :)

Tatsujin

as sad as it sounds, I would go with Choujin Heiki Zeroigar, simply since it's a shooter. and it's the unrivaled and only one on that plaform. if I had/have Zenki FX, probably that would it be then.

Boundary Gate is totally doable without Japanese knowledge.

indeed.

With a bit of trial and error you can figure out the menus and wander through the game.

if youre a good map maker (who that plays first person RPGs isnt!?), its even easier

Blue Breaker isn't that hard to play through.  The FAQ is enough really.  What makes BB hard to play through is the weirdness of it.  For a large portion of the game, you basically have nothing to actually do.  Just wander from town to town.  90% of the dungeons are mostly optional too.  The common idea is to recruit all the girls first, but again you don't ever have to do this, it's just something you can do.  BB is a weird game that plays quite differently from everything else, it takes awhile to really get into its' pacing.  But it's a great game once you "get it" per say.

Yes, several times.  Still haven't gotten the final true girl/ending though due to lack of time.

Nice !  :) With or without japanese knowledge ???

SuperDeadite

With, I live in Japan.  But as the FAQ points out, even Japanese speakers have trouble with the game.  The dialog is all just romance for the most part.  The game never tells you where to go nor what to do.  All it tells you is that you have a year to finish off the evil one or the world will end.  From there, the game is completely up to you.  There are places you need to visit several times to complete the game, but nothing in game tells you this.  And the real events don't even occur until the game is more then half over...

IMO its the kind of game you don't really get the full effect on without being able to understand it.

then again, I like sailor moon so what do i know. ...  :-"

Sadly, the only PCFX game I've played is battle heat. And I didn't like it, but that's mostly because I couldn't figure out how to play the damn thing.

Even with, it takes a while to figure out how and when the moves are supposed to be executed. There's a definite learning curve there. Once you get it down, the game is.... interesting. It is no wonder this type of fighter never caught on, but it's kind of cool to have two of them on the FX. They're a novelty that can be fun once in a while.

yeah.

Its alot easier with two humans for sure.   since neither of you will have any clue what in the hell you are even doing.
