12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

Is there any pad pinout or info on how the pad actually works?

They just seem mighty expensive and since I have plenty of saturn pads around that would gladly give up their lives in the name of science I figured some frankenstein's monster type pad would be a better solution.

If anyone knows of a cheap place to get a pad or some info on them please point me in the right direction  :)

I have never paid more than $19 for a PC-FX pad.  I see them regularly for $30, which I think is too much, but , y'know, if it's mint and in box, maybe it's worth it.

The PC-FX looks so sweet, I'd hate to see it with anything other than the original pad, although your skill must be respect-worthy for even wanting to try it.  Good luck.

You could try SuperFamiShop...  they have pads sometimes.  I've ordered from them now, and recieved my goods, so I trust them.

Here's the URL: http://www.superfamishop.com

As of today, they have no pads, but keep an eye out, or start your Frankenstein-ing.

I wonder how similar the PCFX controller is to past NEC consoles, if its just a changed connector from the 6 button duo pad it wouldn't be that hard at all (after finding the 5 volt and ground it'd just be trial and error after that).  I believe the connector on both the duo and especially the fx are fairly standard radio shack fair so it might be better for me to try and make some sort of adapter.

Yeah, but the number of buttons are different.  You'd have to use a DUO-R controller at least, and that will cost you more than a PC-FX controller, if you're even lucky enough to find one.
