My condolences on your grandma's passing. 

It's sad how greedy and petulant people can get with inheritances.  Tell 'em all to put on their big girl panties, leave your ma alone, and talk to you directly; followed by you telling 'em that you're an adult and not a part of their system and you throwing your twat uncle on the ground!

My family had a similar thing happen when my rich grandma died. My mom and her sisters have been in a bitter estate battle for years, and the thing is, I don't even know who is full of shit and who is trying to be honest, or if any of them are at all.

The solution is to get people to write totally unambiguous wills BEFORE they die.

I appreciate the kind words and sharing of stories...just to clarify, My Gma was not a lesbian..the granddaughter is and another thing that has been covered....

My grandma and grandpa had amazing wills..I was there when they wrote them.  The will of my Grandfather has been lost and my Grandmas has been rewritten since I seen it first and dumbed down.. a nice will that spelled everything out has been changed and possibly against her will to a 2 page will and it says divide my estate by 5 cause there are 5 grandchildren.

What happens to the grandchildren...and what happened to me?  Where is my grandfathers pocket knife that should have come to me?

Who needs those misc goods, but the nerve of some people....

And by the way..I like the uncle on the floor comment...lets see what happens....

yea, be careful with any legal information being plastered about the interwebz.  Somebody could print out stuff and bring it to court hearings, if there are any.

So, the original Wills are just lost?  Is there no record of the original information?

When my Grandmother died last year it was aweful seeing people get upset about the stuff they got from her house, I just wanted one heirloom piece though and I got a brownie camera from the 1920sish and some family photos taken with it and I am happier than all of them. Greed gets the best of people extortionately

yeah, it's unfortunate seeing what greed does to people...
fortunately for my family, when my grandmother died, neither my dad, nor 2 of his brothers wanted anything other than some odd sentimental bits.
All i took was a statue that had been sitting at the same place on her shelf for 20 years, and like 6 toy cars that i played with when i was younger.
