I'm looking for online references to world monsters and demons, not just the usual stuff that we all know about but more obscure stuff, any links or posts about monster/demon/folk tales from around the world sites would be helpful..

spenoza

If you don't mind going to print, I'd like to recommend dropping by a Barnes and Nobles and looking for an encyclopedia of mythology. There are several different editions, some affordable, which cover quite a bit of international myth and lore. Your local library is also invaluable for such research.

Dude, go get some D&D monster manuals

there's entire demon/devil sections , lol

theres Deities and Demigods, Fiend Folio, Monster Manual 1-3, and some other stuff from 1st ed.

and some good 2nd. edition manuals too.

screw 3rd. that stuff is dumb.
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Do you hate books? Is this because you hate books? I'm a librarian, you know. I take this stuff personally...

Thanks all!

Paul - NICE!!!!

Spenoza: my local library is my next stop. On a side note, I checked out SuperGods by Grant Morrison. FANTASTIC book. Couldn't recommend it enough.

Yokai are a sorry neglected lot, even by the Japanese.

I want to contribute to this thread, and, seeing as this is PCE world, you might find this bit of trivia interesting:

Spriggan is an ugly little fairy (no, don't even attempt to make a lame joke). They can alter their size, too, when necessary.

IMG

Anyway, spriggan should not be confused with Ghost Warrior Spriggan (aka Spirit Soldier Spriggan):

Naxat was a developer that hailed from...Japan, I believe.

Yes, I'm 90% certain that Ghost Warrior Spriggan (Spirit Soldier Spriggan) is of Japanese origin.

Donna is from Cornwall, and the first time I heard her mention Spriggan, my heart did a skip.  But she wasn't talking about the game.

Apparently it is Cornish. I've lived in Cornwall for years and not heard anyone make a mention of a Spriggan though. Mind you, I don't talk to people.

Coud it be that you're a spriggan and didn't know it????? ;)

_Paul

Well I just looked in a mirror and there is *some* resemblance.

esteban

The funny thing is, speaking of spriggan, my nickname in high school was "Corn Wall".

So, Paul, do you think Nando realizes that I was messing with him earlier?
