The one with the dog that eats the sandwich and that goes "Turrrrrrrrrrrrbooooooooo" ?

It used to be on youtube but it's gone!   Anyone happen to have it on their HDD?

Would love to see that Legendary Axe television commercial again!

Edit:  now on Youtube:
All thanks and credit to BigT for finding this on GT.

WHY HAVE I NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THIS?  I looked just in case my phraseology came up with anything, but no.

I don't remember it either, but will not rest until it is found!
Thunderbolts first down!

This *was* the Youtube link:
but the video is gone.

Is there anyway to find it in some sort of archive?

Ugh, I just watched it. That was a really crappy commercial. I wouldn't have bought the system if I had seen that back in the day. Maybe it would have been better if the dog was playing the game.

Ahhh thank you so much!   How did you find it?
Well, first I tried to search google for various combinations of turbo grafx commercial and legendary axe...
Eventually, I decided to keep it simple and searched for "turbo grafx commercial dog"

Well man, it seems that you're better at googling than I am, good sir  ^_^

Edit:  I've been searching for YEARS to see this again, thank you again so much!

With brilliant marketing like this, it's a real wonder why the Turbob didn't sell better.

You have a point there.

Wow, I never saw this before. But it's just like every other video game commercials from the time. Lots of radical dudes and tude, but very little footage of the game. These commercials used to be so exasperating before the internet. One of your few opportunities to see a new game in motion, and it's just a big tease.

soop

I thought the dog was saying TUUUUURRRBOOOOOO.  Major disappointment.

Seconded. When it got to the point at the end where it showed the TG-16 logo and the "higher energy" crap, I was sure the dog was going to pop up after the logo and say it.

I kept waiting for it... and it never came.

Updated the OP, now the video is on YouTube!

I finally watched this (the YouTube version), since the other link wasn't working for me. Assuming that this commercial's audio is unaltered:

I am pretty sure that after the kid yells "USE THE AXE!" the dog says, "Tuna, baby..." as he grabs the food with his teeth and pulls it off the table.

TUNA, BABY?!

That's awesome :pcgs:

I thought the dog said "Turbo" after it said "Tuna Baby."

I guarantee the system would've been a success in the U.S. if it were the TB16.

Firebomber7

I remember this a bit. To be honest, Sega did a MUCH better job of advertising.

i remember saying, "that dumb dog ate their sandwiches!" it was a "radical" commercial for the day, it was dark, there were lots of gorilla style camera cutting/ editing to show the hyper-ness, a very different comercial for its time. it was not great by todays standards but it did stand out the. but the dog saying "TURBO!" would have been cool only in hindsight. back then it would have too Sega-ish. i remember only the few "cool" kids had turbografx....almost underground like. my .02.
I want to be more like 337.

Agreed. Nintendo's commercials from the '80s seemed to show more of the game itself. Also, they didn't choose interesting music to showcase.
