RAFFLE: Violent Soldier

Ok peeps. Recently was able to purchase Sinistron so I no longer need its Japanese counterpart, Violent Soldier. It is complete with manual, no spine. Condition is VERY good. If you want it, just sign up below. I will let this run through Tuesday, May 15th.

No spine meaning no spine label? This shouldnt have a spine card as it was a HuCard.

Not sure about that.

Yes it has a spine label, but I do believe HuCARDS came with spine cards. For example, Street Fighter II CE. I am not sure if all HuCARDS came with spine cards tho. Either way, this game is complete and in perfect condition.

Please enter me in teh raffle as well! Street Fighter II and Populous are the only HuCards that came with spine cards, and I believe they also were the only ones to be in the big 2-CD size cases.

Though I wonder why you'd want to get rid of Violent Soldier just because you got Sinistron? They're different enough games to be both hung onto... Sinistron is just the somewhat easier younger cousin.

It looks identical when played, and pcengine bible lists them as the same too.

Ahhh.. got ya. Ehh, not enough to make me want to keep em both.

It is interesting the changes they made while bringing it to the states however. I wonder why they make changes at all when bringing a game over here? Never really understood that, except for actually translating it. Why change artwork, gameplay, or anything like that?

Because American gamers tended to be pussies back then, and games had to be dumbed down for them. Working Designs was all like "fuck you, we're better than you" and made games harder instead of easier. Also, there was often the issue of censorship... some things that fly fine in Japan don't fly here, and vice-versa. Cosmic Fantasy 2, for example, got Babette's middle-finger scene edited when it came to the West, and Mortal Kombat was cleaned up when sent to the East.
