I'm not concerned about Momotaro Dentetsu so much as stuff like Tengai Makyou. I really don't want to see what Konami would do with classic PCE series using new developers in place of willing classic dev teams.

1. Hudson Soft should still be around.

2. Japanese people, refrain from retirement and work continuesly to avoid leaving dept on their grand children. They also avoiding going to the doctor ( because many do not use insurance, or probably do not have a proper retirement fund like Americans ).

3. That guy ain't going down anytime soon. Even if he is 60, he still got another good 60 years on his half-life. Basically he is stating what, Nintendo did with Kirby.
Nintendo respected the creators intention. In Japan unlike America, they respect, videogames, and when the creator leaves the building, their is no returning of that series.

The only dis-honorable company that broke that rule, recently was CAPCOM. When they released RE4 on the PS2, and canceled the Capcom Five, Shinji Shaved his head, which is simular to the lead person of Strider on the PCE.

Did Konami try to dictate every aspect of the next game, or is Sakuma just mad that they wanted to use existing employees too and not act like it's business as usual for Hudson?

Konomi wants to utilize Hudson's popular series. However the Peach man, is upset because they traded a HudsonSoft person out for a Konomi person. That sums up everything. Also the series belongs to him, rather then Hudson, or even Konami.

Another reason could be for crediting people in success or failure of the game itself.
