Armageddon? Get your batteries to keep your TE and gameboy powered. :D
Seriously though, good luck to all if you are in the path. If I don't make it, Turbokon has my address, he can come over and raffle my TG (and other) collections. I keep it all very safe and it has a chance to survive even if I don't.

I am spending the next couple of hours moving things in my basement - just in case I get a little water...

PunkCryborg

Ha now you know how I feel living in Florida and getting all the hurricanes and scares. After a while they aint no biggie.

Its going to collide with a cold front from canada over New England. Last time that happened to us it was pretty hairy. Hope all stay safe.

I work for a telecommunications firm and it must be open and manned 24/7 because it's a utility company. An email came down from the COO that the storm was not an excuse to call out sick. Even if there is a power outage, the building will be up & running because not only is it tied directly into an energy substation but also has a large backup generator. Yay...

When the state Governor has issued a State of Emergency, it is against the law for a company to hold against you time missed during that time. A state of emergency is just that, and is issued for safety reason. Of course, places of employment dont make that known. Or maybe not. Hell, Im not even sure about it now. I ma getting varied answers. Either way, if I didnt feel safe in my hour drive to work, because of weather, my ass stays home.

I have a few gallons of extra water and that's about it. I need to get some food because our fridge is bare. I'm not particularly worried, but I need to rake up the 50-60 bags of leaves I have sitting on my front lawn. At the very least, I'll be cleaning my driveway of leaves today whilst listening to Unshackled! (radio drama) on my electronic media device.

THE END IS NIGH.

I have lots of stuff in plastic bins in the basement. I pray that my we don't lose electricity, though, because my sump pump keeps the basement dry. Generator? No, I don't need that. Doh.

I work for a telecom companty too and we have contractors who make a killing doing post hurricane clean up. They'll even travel several states over to do it.

Ahhh. On the Jersey shore, it's getting pretty dark, waves and tides are higher than they'ge ever been. Got me some food and water just as an incase. Gonna ride this out and hope flooding isn't bad round the state. Not expecting too much damage other than the beaches, and some flooding. Basically not going g to tempt fate, but I'm not worried...yet.

Hope the Jersey beaches make it through this... I vacation there every summer with my family. Been going to LBI since I was a toddler, and now I've been taking my 3 year old there. Fun times... just hope theres a beach to visit next year.

I feel you guys on the "going to work thing", as I have to show up no matter the weather conditions. Even in a state of emergency... if a cop pulls me over for driving during the emergency, I just show him my ID and he has to let me continue. Really sucks...

NORTHERN NJ CHECK-IN: It's a gorgeous, ominous overcast day so far. I still haven't cleaned up the leaves. The family's gonna go for a nice hike, instead. Gorgeous out here. Hopefully, my super-tall pine trees (over 100') will still be standing a few days from now... I lost one to lightning a few years ago. I was sad. IMG

Yup! I was so happy to hear Bloomberg announce everything this morning. With mass transit closed, I DON'T HAVE TO COMMUTE TO MANHATTAN TOMORROW! :pcgs::pcgs::pcgs::pcgs:

Of course, if my basement floods, I'm f*cked. What a nasty mess to clean up. Not worth a week off from work, to be honest. So, NO FLOODING BASEMENT. Repeat: no flooding basement.

NH/MA CHECK IN: driving on 495 in NH now on my way back to RI. Just some rain, but tons of emergency vehicles on the roads which is good to see (I guess).

JERSEY SHORE CHECK IN: windy. driving rain, ocean high and churning. nothing too bad, just waiting at this point to see how bad she'll get. barrier islands evacuated about an hour ago. [-o<

Futher update almost 8pm. just went outside, Wind gusts now unbearable. Rain less of an issue. water still rising . . . tomorrow's tides could be killer. looks like most of our beaches will have serious erosion. storm track now heading directly for the area.

NH check in: nothing so far, not expecting hell to break loose until tommorrow night. I have my Gt charged up thanks to Duo-r.:)

Chuplayer

Central NJ.

Some light spritzers of rain earlier, but nothing for a few hours. I'd only be in the outskirts area of the storm anyway, so maybe I'm located in an area where there's a break in activity.

I moved some things upstairs. Not a whole lot. After last year, I started keeping things a bit higher normally. My basement doesn't get a huge amount of water regardless.

North Shore MA check in:..light winds...light on and off showers...nothing really at all going on at this moment...The action will prob be best tomorrow im thinkin...

Just got home, pretty quiet in RI.

tpivette

I'll be heading into work in the next 8 hours. Not too worried about that, but the trip home 10 hours later I'm more concerned about. The storm should be kicking ass by then.

Alls pretty quiet right now in northern Delaware, just some light/steady rain.

This storm is a wimp. :) We've had tropical storms down here with more bite than Sandy! :)

No seriously... y'all stay safe. I know that the area it's headed for isn't really designed for hurricanes, unlike here where cat 5s are a mere inconvenience.

RI here, so far just some rain and modest winds.

turboswimbz

So far all good, looks to be nothing more than a big long rain storm, wind has become steady but managable. flooding held off for the most part during this AM high tide. just a few more cycles to make it through. nothing to it but to wait till this one's through. The evening will be the real test.

Work sent us home early at 8am this morning. Theyre shutting down power to the complex in preparation for the storm. Depending on the severity of it when I wake up tomorrow morning, I may use my last personal day.

The wife doesnt have to go in today either. They shut her complex down for the day as well. 4 day weekend for both of us! Hopefully the liquor stores stay open today for a few hours

Living in PA, I'm in the center of the mess and already the town is starting to pile on the rain. Streets are starting to hold water. No gusty winds today, yet. To top it off I'm currently waiting in my car for my work shift to start and I doubt they'll be letting me leave anytime soon. Not that I'm complaining, I need the money. :P I'm not sweating it, only thing I'm worried about is the house losing some shingles off the roof. [-o<

Nazi NecroPhile

Good luck to y'all. I'm glad I've nothing to worry about here, other than a few corn husks blowing in the breeze.

Not sure how it is for others here living on east coast so far, but Sinistron living in NY, pretty much sounds like he lost everything. His area got destroyed/flooded neck high, etc, and from what his neighbor had told him, their homes were not spared. Tim being in NH, hope he is doing ok himself.

Nazi NecroPhile

Aww, that sucks. I hope Sini's okay, waiting it out at an Arbys on high ground.

That sucks for Sinistron. I can offer him a free Insanity when he gets all setup again. I don't have any other spare stuff though. :-/

The power went out here at 11pm and ruined my Ultima Onlining for the evening. It just came back at 830am. I suppose that's nothing in comparison to what I saw on TV with regards to new york.

16 dead, 7 million homes with no power, tons of destruction.

Fucking storms.
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Mishran

Yeah sucks about NY, hopefully Sinistron is alright. I consider myself lucky with losing only a couple pieces of siding off the corner of the house from the storm. Nothing a call to the insurance company can't cure. Its too bad the same can't be said about New Jersey, Delaware, and New York. Millions of people who lost everything, a few even losing their lives... :(

TheClash603

I drove home to Buffalo, NY from Ottawa, ON last night and it was pretty awful. It is something like 330 miles and the second half of the trip I had zero visibility. Exception being the occasional sign that said "emergency speed, 45mph" instead of the usual 65mph.

Hope all is well. Things closed here due to flooding and downed trees. I didnt have the heart the check my car today, last time there was a big storm a tree fell on it. Ignorance is bliss.

HercTNT

We lucked out in my Area, was not nearly as bad as it had originally looked. We lost power for about 14 hours, but thats about it. Sorry to hear about Sinistron. hope everyone came out ok as well.
