@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

This is the place to brag about collections that no one cares about. Stuff that's either weird, ugly, undesirable, not CIB, or somehow incomplete.

For example, I have all five Supergrafx games, but my gamer cred is in the red because two of them are loose and only one has the all-important cardboard sleeve. I'll never have a smokin' photo with them like Tats.

I also collect and play Ultima games, but only the console versions. Real Ultima gamers laugh and point. I have a lot of D&D and SSI games for home consoles, but they're worthless and no one gives a shit because they're not made by Square or Working Designs.

So post your underdog collections. I'll scrape some photos together.

TheClash603

I have about 70% of the Gizmondo games that were released.  No one gives a shit about that thing, but I think it is a fun little toy.

Tatsujin

I have a minty 3DO-FZ1 with about 45 cibler games. It gets all the inattention it deserves.
www.pcedaisakusen.net - home of your individual PC Engine collection!!
PCE Games countdown: 690/737 (47 to go or 93.6% clear)
PCE Shmups countdown: 111/111 (all clear!!)
Sega does what Nintendon't, but only NEC does better than both together!^^
<Senshi> Tat's i'm going to contact the people of Hard Off and open a store stateside..

geise

I have an open source handheld called the GP2X Wiz.  There were a couple commercial games released on SD card format.  I own all 4 of them.

BigusSchmuck

I have almost every Next Generation Magazine from the 90s and yet I have a hell of a time trying to get someone buy or even trade for something I really want. I also got about 12  years worth of EGMS from 1990 to 2002...

SuperDeadite

Super Cassette Vision collector here.  Even most "serious JP collectors" forget it even exists.
And more importantly, I collect JPOP Single Records from the years '76-'96.  Don't care about condition.  Only need 2 more to get the full Pink Lady single set. :)
Stronger Than Your Average Deadite

bartre

not gaming related, but i've got the first 86 issues of spawn in wonderful shape, with no holes. :D
in terms of gaming though, i've got all of the double dragon games on nes and snes.
great games, but all real easy to find.

Nando

I have over 30 1:18 scale cars from Autoart to Maisto and everything in between.

Arkhan Asylum

This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

bob

Wow, good topic.

I have all of the genesis maddens complete with manny and clam shell

Also, about 100 heathcliff comic books i just cant seem to part with. And they arent even in good condition.

My dads got the first issue one with Marilyn in it.  Found it in a garbage can down in Alabama

-I have the entire U.S. Sega Master System library, sans the US-released Sonic (I have the PAL one, which is literally the same exact thing minus a UPC sticker and about $990 cheaper) and James Buster Douglas Boxing (which just went on the 'bay for $300). I'll have to shell out to truly complete the collection unfortunately

-I collect anything and everything Outrun - I have every major console release both U.S. and Japanese, just need to collect the portable versions

-Ditto for Phantasy Star

turboswimbz

I have a collection of Boy scout patches/uniforms/ ect.  Also have a collection of scientific articles . . .
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

TheClash603

I thought this had to be gaming related...

I have a bunch of signed 80s horror movie posters and a large collection of horror movies on the now outdated DVD format.

Gogan

Nothin beats the real thing.

Sticking with consoles? Well, when you run out of home versions, you and Blue can fight over arcade releases:
IMG

For my "insignificant's", I have 11 arcade cabs, of which 7 are candy. Impressive to some, but for me it is Thursday.

Also, I have a DIY HT in my basement. Only thing I bought was a receiver for $100, everything else was hand-me-downs. Max res is 1024x768 for the PJ but I have 5.1 w/ the ".1" being a 300 watt 15" sub. When the lights go off, you can't see the clutter/mess.

Waaay ahead of you - I've got a deluxe upright Outrun cabinet and about $1,000 in NOS replacement parts ready to restore it with. And a non-suicide chipped revision B motherboard with custom ICs to enable extra features.

There was a motorized sit-down unit on Craigslist in Chicago but since I live in a downtown apartment, that shit ain't happening unfortunately.

I would purchase a Turbo Outrun cab but I refuse to acknowledge that turd of a game as Outrun canon.

Umm, I have a complete Sega 32X Collection?  Everyone hates the fucking 32X.

Oh!  I have every release of Popful Mail:
Sega CD (3 copies), Mega CD, PC Engine (2 copies), Super Famicom (2 copies), PC-98 (all perfectly complete), plus most of the audio drama CDs and a cool looking Working Designs Popful Mail hat and pins.
I really like Popful Mail a lot.

I'm going to have to disqualify this entry. Complete 32X collections look cool, see?
http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?22161-Finally-completed-my-North-American-32x-collection

Also, everybody likes to collect them because it's such a tiny library and nothing costs more than $200.

Here's what an insignificant 32X collection looks like (no Blackthorne, missing 1/3 of the most valuable boxes, and I just ordered a manual for the Genesis version of Primal Rage because I'm too cheap to complete my 32x copy):

Is that Space Harrier for the 32X?

I didn't realize that was the size of its library.

Did Sega ever release a 32X/Genesis/CD combo?

Space Harrier - yes, great port.

Combo = no

But you can make your own (at least the Gen/32x part):

There are also really only like 35 unique 32X titles, I just managed to wind up with a ton of duplicates through lot purchases near the end of my collecting.  But enough derailment!

Sega had a genesis/32x combo unit codenamed "Neptune" in the prototype stages but it mercifully got killed off with the Saturn launch. Would have been the dumbest idea ever.

http://segaretro.org/Sega_Neptune

If they thought that idea up I'm sure a Genny/32x/CD combo couldn't have been far from their minds.

DragonmasterDan

I have a complete Mattel Hyperscan collection. That's right FIVE games.

glazball

I have a box of Garbage Pail Kids that I've kept from my childhood.  Are these worth anything nowadays?  I have the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th series all complete.  Iirc they kind of started being not as cool after the 6th series, around the time the horrible GPK movie came out.

I collect the last remaining shreds of credibility from pcenginefx forum members. THIS THREAD HAS BEEN A GOLDMINE.

I lost all my credibility years ago, you see. I'm just waiting for others to sink into the sludge with me. It's been lonely down here.

BACK ON TOPIC: I have XaviX and love Jackie Chan's game + mat. I have boxing game with gloves, too. It doesn't have ninjas assaulting joggers, so it isn't as awesome.

ALSO, my wife punched me for presenting XaviX as a "grand gift" many holidays ago. Apparently, I had led her to believe she would be pleased with this particular gift. :pcgs:.

I've got a massive collection of dead compact fluorescent lights and batteries, two obsolete laptops (Pentium II 266 MHz and Pentium M) and two desktops (Celeron and a Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz) and four cellphones (w/chargers) that I've amassed over the years but haven't gotten around to recycling.

Willing to trade for Necromancer's stack of Playboys.  Need to replace the stack my g/f now wife made me dump so many years ago.=P

Classic graphics cards for Pc. Stuff ranging from 3DFX Voodoo 2, Voodoo 5500, Geforce 2 Ti to Geforce 4 Ti, TNT 2 Ultra, Rage Fury MAXX, Real3D Starfighter, 3DLabs Permedia 2v, S3 Trio64 and Verge DX,Trident stuff, etc. Also have a wide range of K6 to K6-2 stuff including a K6-2+ and K6-3 cpu and a nice batch of SS7 motherboards. Obviously have more stuff then this parts wise, but the above is what I tend to go out of my way to get. Should note, while some may not care for the stuff, others would drool. Just varies from person to person.

It's a hint book published by the Ultimate Game Club in 1991. It has about 120 pages on the NES, 8 on the Genesis, 7 on the Turbografx (14 games), and a couple on the gameboy, SMS, and neo-geo. It's all short hints and codes - no walkthroughs, no pictures.  Some factoids are listed about each game (# players, genre, difficulty, a Game Club rating of 1-10, name of last boss, and whether a battery or password is used).

I collect BIC pens... I have about 300 of them... And working at a casino with year around conventions pens are always being handed out..

I used to collect ECW/WWF/WCW wrestling figures from 1996 - 2001 and had every series complete, I had a wrestling addiction.  I had over 275 MISB but moved abroad and wasn't going to take them with me.  I tried to sell them but couldn't find anyone who would buy them.  My last resort was to give them away to the neighborhood kids who opened nearly all of them in front of me and proceeded to trash them.

I kept the Owen Hart Blue Blazer and Brian Pillman figs but that's all I have left.

hizaygizirlz

Here is mine.  This photo is about five years old.  There are some missing 3 or 4 dress shoes and some more gym shoes.  I haven't really bought many pairs since then and they aren't nearly as shiny, but all should still be around.

I liked Retro Jordan IV and VI a lot and air max 95.  I started around my junior year in HS and got alot over the next 5 years.  After that it was just a few here or there.

I know the Red/Grey Air Max in the second row from the end are really hurtin, but I don't want to separate them from their brothers.  Someday I will treat myself to another pair.
