What do you guys think about this, how much would you pay? I offered USD 65.00 but I have not heard anything yet. Is it worth it? He does not know if it works.

Damn, if the seller had a TG-16 AC adapter, he could see if the drive works (audio discs).

Or maybe he does have the adapter and it doesn't work.  His auction says they're in very good condition, and they appear so.  But that doesn't mean it works, it means it's in good condition.  Careful play on words.  Always a risk with a deal like this.
All is well. :)

Normally when I see terms such as "unable to test as ....." it screams broken to me.  Especially on items such as CD drives that are prone to failures.

Remember the seller who listed a TG16 as untested because they had lost the PSU and a got caught out by a sharp eyed member here  as they noticed that he had listed the PSU in a different auction ;-)

In arcade auctions, I have been burned on hopes that things work. Best policy is pay for what you know works. If you see the cab up and running, pay(or bid in my case) for what it's worth. Do not pay "working" price for a PCB in a box (untested) or a cabinet that does not power on or at least assume it is non-working and pay for what a that it is worth "non-working" (cabs can be worth something for parts as a donor). I picked up a Naomi MvC2 cart in a lot of box random PCB's once, only to find out that the seller replaced the Naomi cart PCB with some horse racing game but left the cart housing from the MvC2.

Knowing that some folks on PCFX are wizards with repairs, factor the cost of getting it sent off to be fixed in your bid. Plus the CD-ROM unit is not some OMG R@RES item, there will be more come up...maybe one with the AC and tested.

I take it this is an ebay seller?  Lets look at ebay prices then.

If your patient on ebay you can get a complete CD setup for 300.00 without a box.  do the math.

CD dock goes for 60.00 on egay
AC Adapter has been seen for 50.00
Controller ebay......25.00
CD system card.....40.00 - 50.00
TG16............hit or miss but 50.00 just the deck
Case.........50.00

That leaves you what? 25.00?  consider its more expensive to piece a set together so the CD is worth 40.00 tops and that is working.

Thats how I would look at it.
Games currently in play:
PS3: COD Ghosts
TG16: Boxyboy

That is a good way to look at it.
