12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I'm an avid Instagram user and every Monday there would be "Manual Mondays", so I thought I'd slap in the stuff I had been posting.

"Kokujin804" is my name on it in case anyone wants to follow me.

Been pondering picking up Shinobi.  Is it worth it?

Tatsujin

If you don't mind a complete lvl 2 missing, as well missing of the bonus stage and all power ups, then this game would be very great for you :)
www.pcedaisakusen.net - home of your individual PC Engine collection!!
PCE Games countdown: 690/737 (47 to go or 93.6% clear)
PCE Shmups countdown: 111/111 (all clear!!)
Sega does what Nintendon't, but only NEC does better than both together!^^

Personally I'm very proud to have this, despite a great number of the missing content that Tatsujin speaks of. Usually I would turn my nose up at arcade ports when they're very lacking but I don't know what the driving force is behind making this an exception.

Tengai Makyo manuals, love how they got the pictures of the voice actors/actresses next to their respective characters

These are awesome, Ninja Spirit!  Thanks for posting them.  Even though I have a good chunk of these, it's awesome to see the whole thing at once and reminds me how awesome the artwork is.

Yes, absolutely. :pcgs:

LESSON TO FOLKS WHO MAKE/CONTRIBUTE TO SITES: I find this format (or a variation of it) really compelling: show the "highlights" from the manual in a collage format. Even casual observers (who may never download/read a manual) are struck by the art/layout/presentation of these manuals.

Of course, I'd want the picture/scan quality to be better, but I've got problems (well-documented) when it comes to aesthetics.

NINJA_SPIRIT, you have shown us that PCE websites can present our beloved games in a greatly enhanced way. Sadly, I'm too busy to make collages from scanned manuals...but I think it would enhance any site that deals with PCE/TG-16 lore...

All those pics were made on my cell phone, I snapped them live in a well lighted room and used a app called "Pics Art" for the collages

For Manual Mondays On Instagram, US/Euro manuals I don't mind, but Japanese manuals, it's a total pet peeve of mine when people just throw the manual on the table, snap and upload.

Nice work! It's amazing how the manuals for vintage systems were visually attractive, it was an experience getting through them even before playing the game. Nowadays, with some notable exceptions, they usually lack that beauty.
