Does anyone here own the famed European TurboGrafx? If so do the controllers have that same weird color scheme as the system logo does?

Was it possible for anyone to get their hands on one? I remember reading about the European Turbo Grafx 16 before and there was a picture of the box. I did not know much about it besides that. If someone doesn't mind helping me here, was there a release date for the system in Europe and why wasn't it released in Europe?

one of the online stores was carrying this about a year ago (new in box, they must have gotten a bunch cheap)... it was lik-sang or play asia.

i wanted to pick one up real bad... but i've been in dire financial straits for the last few years and couldn't swing it... it was around $180 (base price, not including shipping / handling)

I was under the impression the plastic molding was the same as North America (i.e. it says "turbografx-16)... but that all the printed stuff, inclusing the logo strip in the top of the console, simply says "turbografx).   someone said that on a message board, so its hearsay and certainly hasn't been corroborated by anyone i know.

My understanding is that it was test marketed briefly in Southern England (London Area) during the 1990 Holiday season and then pulled off the market. The system looks just like a US TurboGrafx but the logo and colors are different on the label, it also does not have the "16" in the title. I saw them for sale online a while back as well, now I kind of wished I picked one up for collector value.

It was on sale in Spain & France AFAIK.

Telegames UK aquired a massive stock of them, have been selling them on ebay for around a year.

Man that's awesome. I kind of want to get that for not only a European Turbo Grafx, but also for the converter.

I've been eying these Telegames systems for a while now.  It would seem like that have a LOT of these things.

I would buy one, if the shipping costs were not so expensive.
