12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

I just got back from the classic pinball arcade (probably not the official name) in Wildwood, NJ.  Has anyone else ever gone to this place?

The staff was kind shitty and they don't let you take pictures...  but that is where the bad stuff ended.  Great selection of old pinball machines and classic amusement devices (target shooters, baseball games, those projection racing games, etc.).

My highlight was playing Orbitor 1, which is the only curved surface pinball game ever made.  You should YouTube this game if you never saw one, it is crazy.

Highly recommend this place for those in the south NJ area or you NYers on a beach run.

Why won't they let you take pictures?  Is it located in a church or something?
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

TheClash603

They have a section set up where you can pay to have your photo with some dummies that look like 70s TV shows.  I understand not wanting you to take pictures of that, because they want you to buy those...

but the games?  I can't figure it out at all.

Clash that one is okay, Not a bad place by any means but I perfer:

http://silverballmuseum.com/

this place is cooler nad they are, MUCH NICER THERE. IMO

The reasons you can't pictures is becuase wildwood is VERY aware of thier potral on socila media / regular media.  They don't want anything bad to get out.  They want to be "Family Friendly" if there is a chance that someone might bash them they try to prevent it.

Other things that you can't do in wildwood: (these all carry fines)
Wearing sagging pants
Loitering anywhere
Wearing Revealing Clothing into businesses
Creating unwated attention to a store front
Ect and so on
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

I swung into Atlantic City for a day on my way home from NYC and I figured I would check out Cape May and Wildwood.  I hadn't been to either in over 15 years.

The beach at Cape May was okay, though it was weird because there was 200ish people on my section of the beach and only 2 of us were in the water even though it was 100 degrees out.  I went to an arcade that had Battletoads the arcade game when I was in middle school and it was gone, so that was a disappointment.  After that I went to Wildwood.

Arcades were all claw games and skeeball now, not how it used to be.  I figured I should expect that, but I had my fingers crossed there would be something retro.  Maybe that was why I liked the Remember When pinball arcade, everything else was too new.  Admittedly, the people who run the place are awful.  I finished off Wildwood with a cup half full of sugar that was "lemonade" and went on the wild mouse for old time sake.  I wanted a mesh tank top which said "Ratchets Welcome," but my gf would've been pissed.

I then went back to the shit hole AC and lost all my $ on craps.  Such is life.

Sadly Clash those are the "best" boardwalks (there is one more in point pleaseeant that's also really nice) - expect worse elsewhere.  IN Point pleasant there is 1 very small retro arcade.  It has Pac-man and some others that I don't remembner - but that was before the storm . . .

AC is isn't too bad, Although Highly unsfe outside of the tourist areas.

Driving from the Golden Nugget to the boardwalk in AC reminded me of the ghetto of Buffalo.  I didn't get out of my car and I didn't want to be there...  but there was an odd comfort to seeing the area.

You guys ever hear of this place? http://pinside.com/pinball/map/where-to-play/papa-world-headquarters-2512-carnegie-pa-united-states
It's pretty close to me, but I've never been there. I don't think they're open to the public, aside from a few tournaments per year.

My wife and I went by the Penny Arcade in Manitou Springs CO a couple weeks ago and they have a whole hall dedicated to pinballs and mechanical games, it was pretty dang sweet.  Every game was 25c at the most too :D

I've been to this place a few times. They have an incredible selection of really old mechanical games and pinball machines!

Best part is, most people don't know it's 2 plays a quarter, so many machines have free plays. :P

Hey thanks for posting that one, I have a friend who lives up in Oley and this would be an easy hit up from there.

Seeing the other places in this thread just makes me want to own some pinball machines.

Too bad they are so hard to maintain!

Yeah, my wife now says she would prefer a pinball machine over an arcade unit in the basement and while I think it would be cool, I have neither the time, money, nor patience to deal with owning and maintaining a pin.
