Order of the Griffon magic engine graphic glitch?

It seems the screen at the bottom of the battle screen cuts off the character portraits that shows their equipment. Something Im missing?

Doesn't the screen use some freaky split resolution technique? It's something ME can't handle anyway. I think it works with Ootake.
