For the past month or so, I've introduced my kids to the original Ultraman series. We've also recentely started watching Ultraman Max. They love both of them and needless to say we are on a Kaiju kick lately.

What other shows do you recommend? Can be Ultraman related or not. My kiddos are 5 and 3.

Johnny Sokko!

A kid gets to control a huge robot by giving commands through his watch.

I gave a guy I worked with a bunch of episodes and his kids really enjoyed them.

Big O was pretty cool. Giant robot :-)

Nando

That's right Giant Robot, and which one was the one with the gold robot that would turn into a spaceship? Martian something or other, I think, is what it was called in the US.

Big O is not really for little kiddos. Love the series, but maybe for them when they get older.

Umm...Power Rangers?

Also, Ultraman is awesome, I watched the entire original series last year. Good stuff.

I tried showing them the first one and they didn't like it as much. Go figure.

Grandizer?  I loved watching this as a kid!

InfraMan

Super Robot Red Baron is awesome, and can be picked up from Amazon for next to nothing. Same for Iron King.

Also, the second Ultraman series (Ultra Seven) can be had for fairly cheap, and should be required viewing. 8)

Generation Kikaida sells a number of great series, but they aren't cheap unfortunately. Kikaida, Kikaida 01, and Kamen Rider V3 are all great, but I have a particular fondness for the craziness that is Inazuman.

Finally, you may have guessed from my avatar and username that I love me some InfraMan... it's fast-paced and bonkers, so your kids will probably dig it! :)

rolfmao - I was thinking of Maguma Taishi/Ambassador Magma

THANKS INFRAMAN!! I have never really looked into the Kamen Rider series and I had all but forgotten about Inframan!

We watched a few episodes of Ultraman Max last night that had cameos from the original cast. It was pretty flipping awesome to see them, even if the series is almost 10yrs old.
