2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Allright, I couldn't figure how to delete my post, so might as well redo it instead of getting laughed at by the whole community hahahah!

Allright, my name is Pierre, I spent the last 2 years teaching in Japan. I found a new interest in the Pc engine 5 months ago when I found a copy of Castlevania rondo of blood for Pc egine for 55$ in my local game store. I'm a huge fan of Castlevania, so I bought my first duo to play it. I felt bad paying 100$ for a console simply for 1 game, so i decided to watch and read tons of things about the console.

I was shocked on how amazing the pc engine library and the community was. It doesnt matter if you are a nintendo/sega/sony/microsoft fan, everyone in the collecting community seems to reserve a special place in their heart for the console. After playing serveral games, i understand why it is. It's as if the console has a soul, something that I don't feel about any other console that I own. those little credit card games in their cute boxes are simply the best. everything about the console feels amazing.

Anyway, i'm getting off track. About a year and a half ago, i started an export service for the racket boy community forum, and it helped tons of gamers to get the games they always wanted for a fair price (compared to the ebay/us market). I stopped it at one point because some individuals started abusing of the system and resold on the same forum (dumbasses) the games that i worked hard for them to find for a nice price. People were starting to make profit from me. I simply decided to stop it because it didn't help at all, it simply generated a new way for scammer to get those games for cheap for reselling it to the US market.

Fast forward to now, I have 2 months left in Japan. My daughter is living in canada, she is one month old, and i cant wait to be reunited with her. I wanted to help the community of this forum because you did help me a lot with all your useful guide on how to repair my pc engine duo sound issue.

What i posted was an offer to reopen my export service for a month. 1-2 games per person. But after doing so, I started thinking, and realised that there is a lot of things I have to do in the next 2 months to prepare my departure from Japan.

I still want to do something, but not in a huge fashion. Maybe I can trade my import service for pc engine games, or anything. I simply don't think I can help all the people in this community, but feel free to ask me if we could arrange something. I'M a big collector and right now i'm looking into playing more awesome Pc engine games.

SOrry for the long post, it had a goal at first, but now that I'M not offering a straight forward export service, it may feel like a waste of your time if you read this all the way down hahahah

Never mind, thanks for the reintroduction. :)

When you get home to your infant daughter you may not have much time for PCE.... you will have a new hobby for a while.  ;)

Great intro BTW - your enthusiasm shows!

Excellent post/intro...I am glad that you gave PCE a chance to win your heart (over the past 15+ years) a lot of folks have  discovered PCE via Rondo...)

MY DEUX CENTS: Don't waste your time as a "buying agent"...I bet there is some neat stuff you will be able to do at some point (in the future, for example, back in Canada).

For example...translating Japanese->English magazines! THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY DO!

Hahahhahahahahahhaa. I am serious, of course.

And selfish.

But, when you think about it, translating even the Table of Contents would help out a lot of monolingual PCE fans  :pcgs:

You are definitely correct and that's exactly where I'm at.  My son is 3 weeks old and I haven't had any Obey time.  But it's well worth the sacrifice.

...Off to change some diapers. :D

toktogul

thanks a lot for the feedbacks.
I really want to do something for the community, so yea i can definatly do some translation job for magazines. its gonna be some good practice. i can start with some the table of content, and see from them if im motivated for more hahah.

Welcome aboard Pierre.  Where about's in Canada are you from?  I'm here in glorious Montreal, Quebec.  That was an excellent intro, and it's funny how you talk about the system having a soul because I've heard several people say something similar.  There's just something special about this little gem.

For your import service, that sounds like a really awesome thing to do man.  Personally, I've been looking for an affordable copy of Coryoon for ages now, but the eBay and Amazon Japan prices are completely ridiculous.

I hope you enjoy your time on the boards, and best of luck with getting back to your family.

I live in Quebec city !!! We are not too far away from each other!
I'm French canadian, are you as well? I'm glad to hear i'm not alone in Quebec collecting for the pc engine. i havent checked the market in the province, but im ready to bet that there isnt a huge market for the pc engine, right?

Since you are from montreal, ill definatly help you. send me a pm with a list of games you are looking for. ill go check around in the shops in my town.

I'm originally from out West, but moved here a long while ago so I'm perfectly bilingual.  The city is wild and crazy, but sadly there's one son of a b that has bought every single TG-16 game there is here.  He literally drove around all the thrift shops, L'Armée du Salut, and Village des Valeurs buying up everything.  Like such an awesome guy that he is, he now goes and sells everything on eBay for about 50 times what he paid.  Jackass!  I hate people like that.

toktogul

wow well that sucks.
i only have 2 pc engine duo, so i'll have to hunt for the cd based games, which im sure are expensive too, if i can find any hahah.

I really want ys games in english and neutopia. the rest i have already bought what i want in Japan.

again, if you need  some games, i can ship them to you.  ca va me faire plaisir de t'aider!

Merci Toktogul, mais pour maintenant... for now I think I'll have to wait and see.  The prices are so high for the Japanese games I'm interested in :(
