Who doesn't like a good game of pinball? Alien Crush might not be as polished as some later digital pinball games, but you do have to give it credit for being pretty good for 1988. It's got that PCE color, animation, and at times even sprite counts that people playing other home consoles at the time couldn't quite get.

The screen switching is a bit of a drag, but you'll get used to it. Post those high scores!

Rules:
-All members are allowed one submission. When there are no further submissions, we will have a reset and everyone will be able to submit another game.
-Each game may only be submitted once.
-If you wish to retract your submission, please do so at least two weeks before your game is due. Your next submission will go to the back of the cue.
-Please don't submit games that have a high language barrier or will take too long to complete (particularly RPGs).
-Please don't submit games that are too expensive. Below $50 is best. Above $100 won't work.

I tried playing this game, but the effect of the screen flipping from top to bottom and vice versa was too jarring. I give it a D.

Had a nice run on my third try tonight (fast mode)


got an extra ball on the lower area alien bonus round where you knock floating aliens and skulls into the holes- at some point a weird alien came out and when you kill it you get an extra ball. wonder if i can get that to happen again?

Also landed the match score at the end for an extra ball... lucky

agree the flashing screen change is hard on the eyes

In case it was lost on the masses and the asses (I'm looking at you, carl), that was a jab at The Video Game Critic.  I loves me some Alien Crush every bitas I loves me some trolling.

But none of the pinball games hold a candle to Time Cruise (or, as it is known in Japanistan, Time Cruise II).

that game should be GOTW as well. Soon.

Every time I play that game I can't help but check out the "screensaver" mode and them I zone out. it's fun. Hehe.

lol The game is pretty fun too, i like the musics, yay. Wish there were more Face games released for the Turbo. Oh well, import-import-import. Also, Alice in Wonderdream is awesome.

Time Cruise kills me with the way the balls don,t stop jumping when they are on the flippers. Awful.

Cool game, but nothing compared to Devil's Crush.  I almost wish somebody would come up with a hack or something to scroll the screen instead of the constant switching.  It was annoying back then and it's annoying now.

Totally under appreciated killer app when it was released.

Blah, my console is still being modded, so I won't be able to join the weekly festivities. I was playing this not too long ago, though. Great game.

I always played DC more than AC back in the day. After playing AC for a while I am liking it more than I use to, and can say its a solid game. I want to play some DC now.
 
Well I got pretty consistent at playing yesterday and got my high score way up there(bragging mode on), but I may have to just quit soon, put the game on pause and may play some more later.

Looked into a few things
The alien/dragon that gives you the extra ball I mentioned earlier according to gamefaqs
"Get to the bonus round with skulls and green aliens. Kill everything except for one skull. Keep going until a pteradactyl appears. Hit the pteradactyl with the ball to get a million points and a bonus ball once the stage is cleared."
Not the easiest bonus round though.. probably the hardest of the four, those center bumper squares just want to bounce you super fast down the drain and its hard to keep track of the ball with all the enemies at first.

"Achieve a score of 999,999,900 points and the ending will start."
Thats crazy it would probably take like 40 hours to beat.

I got this game with my TG-16 christmas 1989 and played the bejeezus out of it.  All I had was this and KC for a long while.  One of my favorite video pinball games ever!
