Well, I gotcha guys $5 bucks off at least... unless somebody else wants to try their bartering skillz with the guy. ;)

munchiaz

yeah, i want one of these but for the price and the fact that im moving at the end of May, unless i make some money gambling in Vegas, its looking like a no right now

sirhcman

So I guess we are back to only 9 people in?  :?:

Mathius

Sorry to hear you two are not participating but I understand. I didn't realize all that would be required to do such a purchase. I want the cart. Bad. Since my wife really wants to play that translated Sailor Moon RPG it's been my goal to get one. But with moving and starting a new life I am not sure I can take on the responsibility right now to make this happen. If someone wants to take over I'll just become a participant. Is that cool with everyone?

Depending on when this is supposed to go down, I can handle the logistics of it.  Im out of town until star wars day (May 4) and out of money until at least a week after that ;)  If everyone interested can wait that long I'll take charge.
[Sun 23:29] <Tatsujin> we have hard off, book off, house off, sports off, baby off, clothes off, jerk off, piss off etc

Nando

I'm good with waiting, end of May works out WAY better for me.

Good save, Bryon! With the leader bowing out as well, this group-buy was heading towards being a big bust... ;)

Let's see how the math works out for this thing:

1) At $165 per unit with shell (with the -$5 deal he offered), 10 buyers, that's $1,650 and figure maybe $20 in shipping for this box of 10 to go to Bryon. Splitting that ~$20 cost by 10 buyers, that's another $2 bucks each. Thus, $167 per buyer so far.

2) The order/box arrives at Byron's home, now he has 10 people to ship it out to. Let's estimate $6 bucks each, so that's now $60 bucks he must spend and collect, and so the cost per buyer is now at ~$173.

3) Buying it individually with the shell meant paying $205 + $5 S/H, so $210. So, that's a potential savings of $37 bucks ($210-$173) for all this trouble... Depending on what shipping actually costs, from producer to Byron, and then to you, and Byron adjusting for his time as well, you're looking at a savings of ~$20-$30...

Well, I dunno, it's tough on whoever wants to lead this thing... But, this is probably the cheapest that you'll ever be able to get it... And for 'used' ones, we know they'll just get gouged on eBay like that clown that tried to sell a Turbo Everdrive for double...

sirhcman

Still need 10 people otherwise this can still be a bust

Mathius

Beemer gets big Matt hug! If you can swing this I am still all in as a participant.

Sorry again, everybody.

BlueBMW

Honestly they should be able to safely ship in a padded mailer 1st class for $2-$3 if people wanted  or like NW said about $6 for priority in a small flat rate box.   After mailing hundreds of sapphires out this shouldnt be a problem ;)

wallzter

Whenever you guys are ready whether it be today or next month you can count me in.

Docfitz01

What timeframe are we looking at right now?

Nando

I'm good for the end of May. I think that would give me plenty of time.

BlueBMW

Lets shoot for end of May.  That will give me time to get my stuff in order and hopefully give everyone time to get their moneys in order too.

DuoR!!! Make us some custom cases! :D

Sounds good to me!

Mathius

Things should be settled down by the end for May. Either way Baby needs her translated Sailor Moon RPG on real hardware stat! :D

Rosser

is this group buy deal dead if not I would be down

BlueBMW

Its waiting for me to be done moving then it will come back to life!

NightWolve

Meh, kinda sore I backed out of this one as that's the best deal you're ever gonna get for it... It's just hard to justify spending that much when I know it's not something that'll get used frequently. I think I'll get some decent usage out of a Turbo Everdrive on my Turbo Express and it's under a hundred, ~$71-$75 via a group buy, so win-win, a justifiable luxury expense, etc.

Docfitz01

I'm hoping this group buy isn't dead, I'm still in if I'm given enough notice ahead of time.

BlueBMW

Itll come back to life once Im finished moving.

When will you be finished moving? i May jump in on this depending on the time

Nando

If I can land a new job by the time Beemer has moved, I am SO IN, still... :D

BlueBMW

I move this Friday but give me a week or two to get settled in.

Awesome!

Hope the move went smooth.

Mathius

My wife was really wanting to play a translated Sailor Moon RPG so we went half on a SD2SNES a while back. They ship out of Germany so expect a good while for it to ship out to ya. Good luck with the group buy guys. You too on your move, Beemer.

jperryss

Does this cart offer any significant advantages over the PowerPak, other than being able to play CX4 games (MM X2 and X3 are the only ones I know of) and not pretending to have Game Genie support that doesn't actually work?

Not knocking it as I love my two other Everdrives, just trying to see if I could justify an upgrade, but it doesn't look it.

Mathius

It's supposed to play any SNES game that had added chips like Pilotwings. What I've heard is that it's fully compatible with the exception of Super FX games. They are still working on the firmware. I believe the flash cart options are much expanded over the regular Everdrive.

schweaty

does this support the SA1 chip?  looking at the retrogate website, it doesnt look like it.

I found this list with a quick Google search. No SA-1 games and no SuperFX games. So, it will play Megaman X2 and X3 which the Powerpak does not, but still not Starfox, Yoshi's Island, or Super Mario RPG.

NightWolve

Yeah, that's too bad about Super Mario RPG.

Mathius

Quote from: NightWolve on 07/25/2014, 07:39 PMYeah, that's too bad about Super Mario RPG.
The good news is that they are continually working on updating the firmware. One day they'll have support for those games.

NightWolve

Hm, yeah, I guess it's possible as with an emulator. He has to try to eventually emulate the chips that he didn't install on the PCB and what not.

Mathius

If anyone needs help setting up their SD cards I will post a checklist of what you'll need. It's a little more complicated than your typical flashcart. One thing I will mention here is do not use the latest firmware. Use version 0.1.4a
