It seems like almost every thread I read on here turns into some sort of bickering match. Not sure if it is just the gamer way or what. I am on a handful of other forums (car related), and have never seen anything like this.

Now before I get the "well then if you don't like it, don't come around!" comments, I was not saying I did not like it. It makes for some entertaining reading while I'm bored at work.
I'm just baffled as to why there is so much bickering, that is all.

Much of it is because we can argue.  You don't see it as much on many sites simply because anything off topic or mean will get deleted and/or earn you a ban.

That and many of us truly treat this like a community.  We care about it and don't want it to degenerate into a buy/sell/brag collectard haven (see facebook gaming groups for examples).

I wish people couldnt even SEE the buy/sell/trade areas until at least 100 posts.
Have some conversation, dont get into flame wars with the veterans, and dont talk like jar jar binks, and you should do fine.
