Hi,

I just did re-cap for a pc engine GT and now it power up with power adapter and works perfect. Interesting enough is I found that it didn't power up with battery ( I did double check the battery and test the battery cable inside the GT with multimeter and does provide 9v )

Any idea how can I fix this issue? I recall I can jump the wire to bypass it but Not really sure how to do it.

Thanks!
Jimmy :D

Scrape off the gray junk over the AC adapter port and follow the traces. You should be able to see the traces as to where positive and negative are supposed to go.

You might only have to retrace the positive or the negative. Meaning you may not have to tap both.

Thanks Kieth. I was putting all my work on the positive trace. Indeed, the issue is negative side trace. I tap the negative side trace and now works perfect. Thanks for the Hint.

Replace the dc jack, it should fix your problem.  The dc jack has a switch that un hook the connection from the batteries when dc is plugged in.   Over time, that switch goes bad.
