Don't have much experience with them, but probably AMIGA slightly.
Quote from: TurboXray on 01/02/2014, 09:21 PMAdding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

C64, never owned an Amiga since I don't live in Europe. C64 had TONS of classics, that's one of the best game platforms of all time, I used to play stuff like Blue Max and Bruce Lee for hours.

termis

Never had any, but a friend's C64 was cool. But I wasn't blown away.

But then I went to this kid's house and he showed off his Amiga... That was during the NES's heydays, and I couldn't believe that games could have such good graphics/sound outside the arcade.

I'd say c-64 cuz I heard it had a porno game on it

those the amiga had as well, and with much sharper optic though

but the 64 is my fav, since it had the best sound chip ever developed > SID. sheer unbelievable what people like tel jeroen, matt grey, rob hubbard, tim follin, martin galway, chirs hülsbeck, ramiro vaca and all the others out there, could took out from that little analog chip. sound i'm still listening to nowadays almost daily =D>

Amiga, totally. I had tons of fun with my brother's Amiga 600 ages ago. He had a C64 too, but as I said in the Atari thread: I didn't enjoy video games until I got my NES.

The 64 ruled back in second grade, with a sweet version of Jungle Hunt and the legendary Agent USA. I've gotta go with it.

AMIGA. THREAD OVER.

But the SID chip was pretty nice too...

Plus Amiga emulators are a lot easier to get working than C64 emulators, and MOD music is better than SID music, so there's more reasons why...

If you mean 4 channel MOD, yes, SID pwns that.

However, when OctaMED became Octamed SoundStudio providing 64 channels ON A STOCK AMIGA, SID just doesn't compare...

stay on the earth^^ when we talking about amiga its games and MOD, then of coz it's good ol' 4-channel startracker, since the amiga couldn't handle more from its hardware side. however some rare artist also used already 8-channels at that time.
anyway i prefered the CUS or TXFM over MOD, since they allowed much more creativity since they could handle some neat analog filters. CUS is a kind of high end SID. please lissen once to the titel music of Hybris, that will blow off your ears :D

They all kinda sucked as home computers - great for games but not so great for productivity apps. Of course, they were far cheaper than a comparable Apple or PC.

C64 music rules.

The best part about Commodore systems. Don't care for the games much.

What's your point Kitsune? Weren't Video Toaster and Lightwave intended for the commercial market? If it weren't for cost, I would've rather used a PC or Apple ][ for basic home computing needs.

Amiga FTW.

Commodore licks decrepid nutsacks, and likes it. Amiga is, and always has been too good for them. That's the real reason they split.

Hrm...that's pretty much personal taste. I like both myself. Both formats have their own charm, although both are horribly outdated today (.IT ftw).

XM is too limited for my tastes, although I've got quite a few modules in XM format. Fast Tracker II was my first tracker, but I later found ScreamTracker 3 and it was better interface-wise (even if S3M is more limited than XM, the program handled much better and was easier to use), then of course, the far superior Impulse Tracker, then later Modplug Tracker, which is what I use now.
