Thanks!

Yes you can use your Everdrive MD or Mega Everdrive to play 32X games.  But yes, you do need to have your 32X hooked up. You just of course put the Everdrive into the 32X's cart slot and turn the system on.

Apologies in advance, but I pretty much shit all over the PCE port.  Well, not really.  It has redeeming qualities, but not enough to recommend that people bother with it.
Curious, how much did the golden axe pcm run you?

I paid about $135 shipped, but it came with the marquee, instruction/installation manual, and some kind of instruction sheet that maybe went behind the glass on an arcade cab.  It also came with the bezel, side art, and JAMMA loom for Revenge of Death Adder, because the seller thought it was all the same game.  The only think I had to buy was a System 16 -> JAMMA adapter, which I bought from ArcadeForge, but that of course can be used for all System-16 boards.

Sweet, might make the plunge and do that for my wife's birthday. She loves that game. :)

Shot the live segments for the TurboGrafx-16 Launch Spectacular today.

I only reviewed those latest 2 Everdrives because krikzz sent them in for review and I am a shameless whore for free stuff (within reason).

Quote from: munchiaz on 06/21/2015, 03:22 PM^ nice stuff. Love the tune,
Thanks, man!  It's just an extended version of the normal theme music, but it sounds more interesting than the 10-second version that I normally have at the beginning of shows.

Thanks to everyone here who participated in the "launch lineup" thread that Anthony1 started a few months back, and extra thanks to Esteban for helping me through PMs, and also for giving me access to all of the materials on his site!

FUDGE! I am staring a campfire and it would be rude to watch this instead of communicating to the other humans.

The last few days, and the rest of the week, I only post when I am pooping.

So, I'll watch it tonight. :)

That was really just meant as humorous hyperbole, but I can understand your point of view.  Although you just outed yourself as a China Warrior hater, so be on the look out for Arkhan to exact retribution.

Oh nice, so he considered your show's reach wide enough to warrant a freebie your way if you review it and thus provide marketing for him. That's cool.

EDIT: Crap, so about 9 minutes into your video after going into full screen mode with Chrome, it caused a crash and auto reboot on my Windows Vista PC... :/ I can't remember if I went to Youtube's website or I used the video player instance in your PCEFX post here because in that case the Adobe Flash player component was activated to play the video. If you go to Youtube's website, the internal MP4 player will be activated instead of Flash. This sudden crash/reboot happened to me once before at that Gaming Oldies website that lets you play old ROMs in a browser using Flash (think emulators wrapped in Adobe Flash)... Anyway, I can't remember what I did (played the video from your post or YT's website), probably it was due to Flash, but lucky I didn't have any opened unfinished work...

BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

The PAL TurboGrafx never launched and never had a specific pack-in or even finalized packaging and was going to target regions other than North America.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Yeah, when you're using Youtube and Chrome and the video is in MP4 format, it'll create a player with HTML5. But, look at Jibba's post IN this thread and right click it, you'll notice SMF embedded it with Adobe Flash. If you're on Android, you won't get a player rendered at all since versions after KitKat deprecated it - some special browsers can work with it though if you install the last Flash version for the platform, but that has to be downloaded/installed outside of the Google PlayStore system. And with even less updates for it, you really have to be careful when it comes to trusting the sites you're visiting.

Anyway, gonna finish watching his video right quick. Seemed pretty decent from what I saw.

I don't see anything embedded, I just see a link. But I both am using HTMLify extension and also have completely uninstalled Flash from both my computer and Chrome (i.e. disabled the plug-in).

Finished the episode. Interesting that Jibba likes that ole Moon Patrol and I didn't connect that IREM had made that. Moon Patrol was the first game I can track that got me interested in the idea of hacking games. All I wanted to do was change "GAME OVER" to "YOU SUCK" and I began with using edit.com in DOS. Obviously, that's a text editor and when you save changes, it forces the CR LF standard, 2 characters, to end a line, so that change will break an exe full of code data! Somebody introduced me to a hex editor and that's how I finally got it done. :)

Anyway, about my crash problem. I made sure this time to watch it at Youtube.com, so Google Chrome's MP4 player was playing it, but it crashed again, so something is wrong with Google Chrome for Windows Vista... Adobe Flash wasn't the culprit, just FYI.

What's your game capture process like? Most of it looked really good but some of it appeared a bit "jittery".

Hey man, thanks!

I use a DVD recorder to record all of my gameplay footage.  I record everything in s-video, but a couple of my systems don't output it so then I use an RGB -> s-video encoder.  If the "jitteriness" that you are referring to is what I think it is, then I believe that it has to do with the timing settings on the device.  Last night I was messing with it to see if I could fix it, but it's a Micomsoft product, so the instructions are all in Japanese.  So I'm basically just flipping the timing dip switches or turning the micropot and seeing what happens.

Lol, sounds like fun. The jitteryness isn't bad, just a bit noticeable. I record gameplay using a DVD recorder and overall your captures are a lot better than mine, but I'm guessing it's because you're using s-video and I'm limited to composite. But I don't get the jitters so was wondering what was different between your setup and mine. And now I know. :)  Thanks!

Do you have a YT channel?  If so, got a link?  Since you're also using a DVD recorder, what do you use to rip the DVDs, and how do you de-interlace your footage?

Yep, just generic gameplay footage - nothing too special:

turbografxnerd: https://www.youtube.com/user/turbografxnerd - this is just Obey
retroroflmao: https://www.youtube.com/user/retroroflmao - This covers all sorts of classic gaming

I use Handbrake to rip the DVDs and let Handbrake handle the de-interlacing.  I set up a specific profile in Handbrake for vintage games. I can take a screenshot of the settings once I get home if you'd like to see them.  Then I do any editing in Premiere Pro CC or Windows Movie Maker if I'm just cutting out stuff at the start/end.

CGQuarterly

Thanks for the links; I subbed to both.

I've messed around with Handbrake.  H.264 is a great codec from a size to quality ratio, but editing those files in FCP is a nightmare because that's not what the codec was meant for.  I REALLY wish Handbrake had more codec options because the files that it outputs look great.

You're not the first person I've heard that wasn't fond of H.264 due to editing, but I haven't run into any issues that couldn't be compensated for in Premiere. Maybe I just don't have an eye for it, though.  I *have* noticed that H.264 tends to be low contrast/washed out compared to source, but that can be resolved by tinkering with contrast and/or saturation and/or gamma. I'm not too sure what other issues people are running into when editing that format.

And thanks for the subs! I really intended on doing more with both those channels but they's just ended up being dumping grounds for "cool games I wanted friends to check out." As they say, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions"...

I like the syncing with all devices, from PC to tablets to phone, etc. but I've been using it for years back from its lightweight fast model after switching from IE. Not as fast as it once was, but I still like it. Yeah, the logging of searches and everything means I'll use a clean install of say Opera if I wanna go incognito mode.

Please continue.  I use Chrome for a lot of stuff and it's pretty reliable, I switched after Firefox kept continually eating all the memory awhile ago.  Obviously Google is tracking you to a degree, but I'd love to read an article about specifics if you've got one.

You're talking about the color of the tiles?  I chose that color because it matched the old banner.  Now that it's gone, I can pick something else.  Got any suggestions?  Maybe grey?

Null, when I do a follow-up episode to the TG-16 launch one, you can do a guest spot if you want.  Review a couple of the games?  You'd just have to record your voice...

Yeah I'm at around $50, and that's after 2 years of YouTube videos and several months of AdSense ads on two websites.

Nah.  The blue was only there to match the blue in the Sega font that the banner used.  I like the way the grey looks.  I think it makes the color in the screenshots pop more.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Is there no way to just create a new AdSense account using a different Google account?   Has the DoxPhile domain been blacklisted by Google?  What would happen (theoretically) if you let the domain registration lapse and someone else bought it and built a completely different site?  Would they still be blacklisted?
