2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Nash Bridges was definitely a goodie.  Who doesn't like Cheech?

Quote from: Otaking on 08/07/2015, 09:24 AMYeh Happy Console Gamer talks really enthusiastically and nostalgically about the exact gaming era I'm interested in (late eighties to mid nineties). Plus from watching his videos I share very similar tastes in stuff in general, particular oldskool animes, certain sci fi films etc... jeez I really am a nerd.
I think he's a likable enough guy. But he has a tendency to talk about every topic like it's "underground" or in a hipster "not mainstream" way when he's talking about huge releases that a lot of people are familiar with. He produces way too many videos on small or little topics or news announcements. A once a week format might be a little better.
I haven't picked up on the "underground" thing myself. I really like his channel so I think it's great that he's putting out more videos, it's a relatively new thing that he increased his video output.

Quote from: Otaking on 08/07/2015, 09:24 AMGame Chasers like all the channels I like, I've watched them from when they first started on YouTube.
They're not particularly knowledgeable about games, I don't think they claim to be, but they're all likeable and I think quite amusing in a teenage humour kinda way "chodes" etc. The show is now mainly about them goofing around at conventions and a bit of bartering in retail stores, as the original format of going to flea markets they did't really find any games anymore.
I saw the first few episodes and they didn't find good deals in the first place. I also didn't find them the least bit amusing or likable.
When they were going to flea markets I think they got the balance just right of finding stuff, the way they did it seemed more real. Then when they found in the wild Surprise at Dinosaur Peak and Little Samson, I thought the whole thing was entertaining, and that's coming from someone who doesn't buy games these days and I've never bought anything NES myself. They could easily just plant rarer or expensive games and pretend to hit the jackpot in every episode. This is exactly what happened in every episode of Toy Hunter, it comes across as completely staged and a bit lame.

Quote from: some block off youtubeIn one episode, Dodongo c-walks out of a convenience store with a 40 at 7:40 AM, steals an arcade machine from an auction, haggles in Spanish for a stuffed papa smurf to use as a sex toy, and buys Secret of Mana for a dollar.

^^ I know a guy who found a boxed copy of Little Samson for 4$ at a fleamarket! Although he did hunt for it for a few months
The Dreamcast is still alive, so go play it before it kills your family!

Right?! He and Don Johnson had pretty good chemistry together onscreen.

And Yasmine Bleeth definitely added that late 90s cheese factor that I miss oh so dearly

NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

I like those old variety shows...even when they have old-timey music (which is 99%).
