she's a bit young (2 years old)  but LOVES~ controllers and always looks so amazed to watch
what's on screen, moving by pushing buttons.
(she's all keith courage for now...despite continuously jumping)

any kids you know or have still interested in turbografx as well ?
.....my little nephew is ONLY interested in GTA or call of duty... *sigh*
it will take me a miracle from above to heal him  [-o<

Don't have kids but my nephews really don't like old school games. I showed them TG16 and Genesis games and they played for 2 minutes before asking to go back on the 360 and PS3.

At 12 the oldest one even ask to get a new HD tv in his bedroom. He currently has my first plasma TV i got few years back. A 40 inch 480p TV that i gave him as a gift instead of selling it 2 years ago. He complains that the resolution is not good compared to the full HD TV they have in the living room.

I've gotten my youngest son (10) to play some retro with me. He really like the neo. He likes the arcade feel of it. He loves playing super Dodgeball on the NES. The first game we played was Contra.

He asks me.... So this was your version of Xbox and call of duty when you were a little boy? I said yes. His reply... That's crazy! I feel sorry for you because this looks terrible!

I fired up the Atari for him, and suddenly the nes became much more palatable.

Lol kids....

My 8yo likes a few old games
On mega drive he likes super sf 2 and world of illusion.
On pce he has recently become obsessed with the Ys series.
PROUD
He also likes Shenmue but usually he just sits and feeds money into a capsule machine the whole time. Mini collectard.

I was having a conversation with one of my younger cousins about games, he's 14 now and has an Xbox one. I brought up that i love Super Nintedno as that was my main system growing up. He replys with "What's a Super Nintendo"  ](*,)

I met an 8 year old boy in a local shop a few years ago, who stumbled across the old video game collectard channels on you tube, and was a collector/player, he'd be there almost every weekend with his parents looking at new games.  He even opened up a new (old game) which I thought was going to kill the larger pale kid working behind the counter.  He was in love with sonic and the genesis mostly.
But other than that I've yet to come across a younger child who likes the old games as much as I do in person.  But it is fun to introduce them to the games, and sometimes you get lucky with a game or two.  My friends two girls 8 and 9 took a liking to mario kart on the N64 if 4 people are playing.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

One thing my daughter may never get to experience.
is to go to a local arcade. we had some when i was young but now..
there's none..

except,
last month my local grocery pulled one of the weirdest move ever by putting a brand new
pac man/galaga arcade......but last week they sent it back...too much kids hanging around.
Old folks were complaining a lot too....

and here i was so happy. (1$ for a single game was a total rip off....its fucking pac-man!)

If you travel to a larger city, stop by a Barcade. They don't card during the day time. Mommy and Daddy can get a beer and good food (well, at least the food is good out here) and you can show her the wonder of arcades.

Only thing that sucks is that it couldn't be a common occurrence.

"Persons not of drinking age are allowed on the premises," i.e. they're not required to show an ID card to get in.

IIRC, in Canada children under the age of 18 can't be in any establishment that allows smoking, right?  "To card" would be "to check ID to make sure you're 18" (or for bars here in the States, 21).

Dragon Spirit.

CLASSIC.

Lots of folks complain about the large hitbox and the difficulty of Dragon Spirit, so I respect your wife not whinging like some of the folks here at pcefx (THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE, THE WHINGERS).

There are some amazing songs in PCE Dragon Spirit, but, sadly, the SFX of guns + bombs will preempt a channel of the songs, IIRC.

Still great music, and at least the SFX aren't super-loud and annoying like some other games.

My 5 year old son only really know "dads old games".  He has his own NES with some games and a Wii.  He loves the sports games and Hockey on the Wii.  He loves Paperboy, SMB and Turtles 2 and 3 on his NES.  He does like Turbografx too (I'm trying to get a broken one up and running to give him) because he likes that "Bonk head" game and Bloody Wolf, where you shoot stuff.
"You CAN'T prove Nulltard/DoxPhile caused ANY harm/damage/sabotage to PCEFX!! You have NO evidence he poached ANY members for his own failed PC Engine forum/site or was a conniving destructive saboteur! ZERO, ZIP, NADA!!! Nulltard did nothing wrong!"
